- Mineral Basin is a four-person detachable chairlift located at Snowbird. The chairlift runs from the bottom of the backside of the resort, Mineral Basin, up to near the summit of Hidden Peak and the resort as well as the Summit Lodge and the top of the Aerial Tram. The lift primarily serves the Mineral Basin area on the backside of the resort, consisting mainly of steep advanced bowl terrain but some intermediate terrain is available in the area as well. From the top of the lift, skiers and riders may also access the front side of the resort and both base areas. The chairlift was manufactured by Garaventa CTEC and installed at the resort in 1999 as part of a new expansion.
Snowbird is a ski area located in Snowbird, Utah. The ski area is located in southeastern Salt Lake County in Northern Utah, about a 40-minute drive southeast of the state's capital and largest city, Salt Lake City. The ski area is one of two ski areas located in Little Cottonwood Canyon, the other being its neighbor Alta. Skiers may ski both resorts in the same day with an Ikon Pass, AltaBird Pass, or a valid AltaBird lift ticket via the AltaBird Connect located at the top of the Baldy chairlift connecting to the top of Alta's Sugarloaf Lift. Snowbird is known for its challenging terrain, offering even the most advanced skiers plenty of challenging terrain. The front side of the resort consists of two main valleys: Peruvian Gulch and Gad Valley, which contain many of the resort's groomed trails, separated by the famous Cirque Traverse area. The backside of the mountain, Mineral Basin, consists of a large and steep bowl as well as the Baldy area which contains more gentle terrain. Snowbird is owned by Powdr and is therefore a partner on the Ikon Pass. Full Ikon pass holders receive 7 days between Snowbird and Alta while Base Plus pass holders receive 5 days between the two resorts and standard Base pass holders receive 5 days at Snowbird only.

Snowbird is one of my dream mountains. I know I say this a lot, but you're so lucky to be able to be over there and experience all these amazing mountains.
Yes, it has been such a wonderful opportunity to spend this winter out here! I hope you make it someday it is truly amazing!
Is the top of this lift 11,000 feet as well, like the Aerial Tram?
what is that song playing in the station? lol xd
This lift is the biggest choke point at the Bird, as it’s the only way out of the backside. When I visited Snowbird last year, I waited in a half hour lift line my first day. My second day, the line was only five to ten minutes.
Yeah, it all depends on the time. Around lunchtime, I waited upwards of 30 minutes for the lift on a Friday.
@@beyondthelodge My first time at Snowbird was the day after a snowstorm brought down 22 inches of fresh powder. Mineral Basin had a late start, so when they dropped the ropes, everyone basically flocked down to the back bowls.
@@TwinSkiingLiftsRides Yeah, mine was just typical Friday crowds!
@@beyondthelodge Oof. Did you by any chance ski Alta? It’s right next door!
@@TwinSkiingLiftsRides I did! I still have more to record though and will be returning soon to do so
