The building at :45 is the former US army national guard building, closed several years ago. If you look closely in the corner of the lot near the two sidewalks you see concrete. For decades a US army M4A1 Sherman tank sat here. Then the state took the tank away and the people of EATON DEMANDED that the state return it's tank. A couple years ago it returned but it is located nearby at the Ft. St. Clair battle site. All painted up in new green paint.
Jeffrey, thank you for the information on the former Ohio National Guard Armory. I was wondering what the purpose of that building was when I saw it for the first time in Jaw Tooth's vdeo.
Alright! Like #2 today! I love covered bridges. It looked like that first DPU was almost bottoming on that crossing. Now that I know what to look for, I see articulated cars on a lot of trains.
A cute, little, freshly painted, well-maintained, red caboose... no graffiti, not even fenced in. And... a nearby Castle!?!?! ... Eaton, Ohio gets my vote for your best R/R 'Little town of the Month Award' Señor JawTooth. How can you top a caboose, castle, free and open spaces? Hats off to Eaton, Ohio!!! Yes, that is a really cool town! I will be going back there again. It's near the border of Indiana also so I could go to the state line and film a train
@@JawTooth En serío (seriously) Señor Jaws... How to you find all these cool little towns? Most are postcard perfect... cool places it seems... to live, work and play. In any season. RT, Puebla, MX. Fun stuff, I'll bet.
Nice catch of the 2 NS trains and the CSX train! I like that old Caboose sitting there and has been maintained nicely over the years. The 2nd ns train went by a few house's I'd like to be living in. The one with the porch would be perfect! The CSX train with the AUTORACKS was quite a consist to not have a DPU! Thanks again JT for some great footage!
Cool train action JT, but the double barreled covered bridge is just awesome, I’ve seen these before but no double barreld one that’s cool. Thanks for sharing JT.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
JT, as stated in an earlier video,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NS is extending the passing siding at nearby Capbellstown, OHIO. West of Eaton about 8 miles. You need to check this out. NS is doing some serious grading here since the ROW is elevated high up between farm fields.
Wow cool bridges. Those house were less than 40 feet from the tracks. DPU I see you. Seems like the trains are getting longer requiring more DPUs. I guess since OH law about blocking roads are gone now.
Thank you for going to Eaton, Ohio to document the two trains that you saw at Easton, Jaw Tooth! That covered bridge was a great historical item. The information on one of the historical markers indicated that the bridge was moved from another location. When I saw the concrete foundation under the bridge, I thought that the concrete looked like it was put up recently. If this was the original site for the bridge, I was thinking that the foundation should have been cut stone pieces rather than concrete. The auto rack train that you caught in Hamilton, Ohio was an exceptionally long train. It is a good thing that the auto racks were empty otherwise the train might have stalled with just two engines on the train.
Hey Jaw Tooth! Eaton seems like a nice quiet town. Wooo DPU! It be cool to live in a house along the track! Front porch with a coffee...trains flying by. Wow! Built in 1829!! What a nice looking bridge! You only see those types in the northeast. You find the most interesting places. What a long inter-modal. Talk about emptying the yard! Wooo DPU again! Working hard. Hi Norfie! What ya reading? Hey Chessie!
Seems that any train with a single lead engine is likely to have a DPU somewhere if it's any length at all :) I see all these articulated trainsets and I see they have 3-car and 5-car sets and I think I haven't seen any even-numbered sets like 2-cars or 4-cars - interesting. A very cool covered bridge and I am glad they didn't open the spillway while you were standing there :) That was one long empty autorack - wow!
I like that house that the train passes at 7:30.......perfect railfanning house, specially if you have a bunch of kids and pets. Not so much grass to cut with all the ballast on the front lawn.
The covered bridge is way cool. I'm a huge fan of covered bridges and the only ones I've visited are in VT. Never seen a double-barrelled one. Great video 👍
@@JawTooth On our honeymoon we went and toured southern Indiana. We saw several covered bridges. I did not know about a double covered bridge. Wonder how many there were in the United States? I also wrote another comment you might look at while you are reading.
didn't know the "double" style existed, cool stuff! Several covered bridges,in my area. I live near Bucks county, Pa.,and 12 covered bridges, are still in service. One still exists in Hunterdon county NJ. I can do a 100 mile run,on the motorcycle, and cross 6 covered bridges. Never gets old,to this 61 year old...
LOVE this one. Great trains and history. The covered bridge is awesome and the all rock building which looks like an old armory is very cool. Great video thanks.
That narrow building in Eaton does look cute and very reminiscent of the old SOO Line passing through Oshkosh on track now removed. Eaton has some neat buildings inc the depot and caboose restoration along with the 18 29 Lego wooden Bridge plus the old Armory building. Some of those FTTX auto frame flats have hit the big 50 and now have their FRA age waiver "R" sticker. JT knows how to bring those Cincinnati never ending circular trains to the photo spot. Plenty of variety and another good tape with the small town feel
Eaton is a lovely old town with alot of interesting places to see. Love the house or shop right next to the crossing the intermodel was near touching distance JT, cool bridges , a dam a creek & a caboose! Fab. ❤😊👍
Those bridges are cool! Especially that covered one. That small dam in that creek was interesting. Love the sound of that CSX DPU chugging along. Great Video!
Hello my friend, I really liked the video, especially the part where it has a bridge that looks like a house, very good, congratulations on the record!
Eaton Ohio is an old town with many rail road memories of the past and tracks removed great video jaw tooth great covered bridge too and then we're back to Hamilton great place for a train video now that's a great double header
Awesome railfan videos of some great trains. Loved the historical tour of the local regions and their historical monuments. I especially loved the covered and Steele one-lane bridges and the dam.along with accompanying excellent commentary. Thank you.
Awesome Jaw Tooth awesome red caboose and the cover bridge and the trains awesome to enjoying watching now 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😃😎❤❤ and enjoying the side show too Jaw Tooth AWESOME VIDEO JT
Hey JT, GREAT catch of those trains traveling so close to the buildings in cozy Eaton, Ohio. LOVE those bridges, too, esp. the covered one. Amazing "tags" on the trains, especially on the third one. Too bad there was just a quick glimpse of a well done Holly Holm "artwork" on that first train. That famous MMA fighter is from my current hometown of Albuquerque. Thanks for sharing!
@@JawTooth There is only so much you can do when filming with the trains going by so fast. You never know what colorful "artwork" is coming your way. You do a FINE job with all your videos that are always so educational, esp. since I live in the Southwest and am less familiar with trains back East. Your locations to film are quite interesting to view trains, esp. the ones out in the country. And I always enjoy your videos of your beloved pets and the slide shows. Keep up the fine work, my friend!
Love the old station and what looks to be the old freight house across the tracks. But also love the store right beside the track and the bridge. We have an old covered bridge near here too, one of only four left in Missouri, but it's a pup compared to the Roberts bridge. It was built in 1876. Did you notice that on the stack train, the bottom of those well cars didn't clear the roadway by a whole lot, just a matter of a few inches. Great video. Thanks.
Love your channel. I found it recently. Love seeing those UPS trailers. My husband has worked for UPS for over 35 years and is a feeder driver. He sends me cool pics from the Secaucus, NJ rail yard. Thanks for sharing. Shot my first rail fan video for myself from the Walkway over the Hudson River recently.
109 on that first train. 89 on that second train. That covered bridge is really cool. The truss type is Burr Arch Truss. It is 79 feet long, and is not in its original location. It was damaged by arson in 1986, and moved and restored in 1991. We only have one covered bridge left, here in NJ. It's up in Hunterdon County. I think it was built about 1859. But it sits on the superstructure of a modern bridge, so the trusses/arches aren't actually doing anything. But it is still used for vehicular traffic. Oh wow, an iron truss bridge too. How cool. I love old bridges. I got around 140 or so on that last train. When I was up to the 120's I dozed off for a few seconds or more, and lost my count. 😆 So I added like 14 and resumed counting.
I love all the towns that you make videos in, they remind me of a slower pace, friendlier time before the rat race, high speed everything life style took over. Trains go through our town but there mostly container manifests these days. Your videos show all kinds of freight and rail cars. Thanks very much for all the time and expense you put into all of it !! It shows ! A+++++

Mechanical bell crossing at 7:00, you hardly hear those anymore. Awesome catch! Once they wear out the bell is replaced with an E-bell, basically a speaker mounted in a piece of PVC pipe playing a bell sound, thats all we get now a days.
Covered bridges very very good. Didn't know they existed. Is stone building a Ohio National Guard Armory? Also, is building near caboose a RR building?
I think the stone building is used by the National Guard for storage or something. Both buildings by the caboose use to be railroad buildings. The one across from the caboose is a liquor store now and the other one is being remodelled
That Auto-Rack Train had just about every Auto-Rack in the US there! Just about. I stopped counting! !:^) Nice ones Jaw Tooth, thanks! Keep Safe now. Cheers!
Glad you made it over to Eaton to catch some NS and you were not that far from my hometown of Richmond, IN. That same line also goes through Richmond and glad you had nice weather for your visit. Eaton was packed when 611 came through in 1992....
The Robert cover bridge was originally out in the country. It was vandalized and caught on fire. The community got together and had it repaired. They then moved into town were it would have less chance of being vandalized. Preble co. Has about 8 covered bridges. They now have bicycle tours and motorcycle rides threw them.
We crossed over a covered bridge back in July going through Holmes County, OH and Amish country. Another good place for covered bridges is Ashtabula County, way up in the northeast part of Ohio.
My grandma lives in Eaton the train tracks were 75 feet from my grandmas house and let me tell you when I was growing up that was my favorite thing to do is watch the trains go by
