- Decided to do an extended version of some of the greatest tracks of Shovel Knight and my personal favorites. If you haven't already I highly suggest you throw Jake Kaufman a few bones over on his Bandcamp page for the OST :)

This is hands down the best music for a level in a video game I've ever heard. Hardest level I've played, but well designed.

I fucking hate the shit out of this level but the music is so worth it.
***** On my first playthrough it showed i died on this stage 18 times, my next lowest was 6 deaths on another level lol.
I raged so hard on the boss, but I love this music so much, second favorite track in the game.
The boss was the easiest, he didn't even destroy the floor, somehow, the wind section screwed me over

this is legitimately mindblowing, especially the intro. amazing use of the advanced nes soundchip.
The Flying Machine may have been a pain, but it was very well designed. It's an incredibly intricately paced stage with plenty of challenges but nothing unbelievably tough. This music just compliments that perfectly.
You know it would be nice to hear this song for a while, but on this stage you die every 2 seconds.

Geez what a song. The Flying Machine is my favorite stage in the game, it's not often you get to see a sky level compared to say a fire level. But damn did yacht club do it right. The colors in this stage are fantastic, especially the gorgeous sunset. It works so well with the visuals in the ship itself, the blues, yellows, and reds, specifically. The wind mechanics were hard, especially on a first play through, but all it takes is some careful thinking and a lil butt clenching. But good lord those evil propeller meanies. Those little green jawa douchebags were the worst when you run out of magic to use for the flare rod. And of course, Propeller Knight himself was awesome. The way he speaks is so indicative of his character, his outfit and theme are incredible, and oh my god I have such a weakness for rapiers, they're wicked. He's my second favorite in the game for sure, right behind Tinker Knight, for obvious reasons. Tinker's the man. I got blown into a pit a few times and got bombed a bunch, but Propeller Knight's fight never felt unfair, especially with the checkpoint just outside. Also the tears and rose when you beat him are incredible. All in all, this stage is easily my favorite, I love the style and theme. Also the music is awesome, but I'm sure you already know that.

propellor knight is about as european as you can fucking get. he has a spanish don flamenco laugh, he fences like a french man, he's a fucking knight, and he has revolutionary technology. the one thing that isn't european about him is the fucking anime pose he does when he blows you off the stage
Jonathan is a European Chinese cartoon character who poses.
Plus to add to this, He refers to objects as 'she', or 'he'. He also uses words such as 'petit', he fights with a cutlass, all of which are french by the way.
Shovel knight is ultra diamond platinum sapphire GOLD in platform games genre and i F**king love the soundtrack ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL
The level is never unfair, but it's still hard as a frozen bitch. The music still makes me come back, though.

I find it strange that most of the propeller rats are in king knight's stage though...

Tinker Knight made the flying mechanism for the rats (the propeller).
And King Knight took them because they were colored gold. COLORED. GOLD.
This level... I don't think it's that bad for Shovel Knight, especially if you get the Propeller Dagger, but Plague Knight... oh boy. This stage is an absolute death trap for him. He can take some neat shortcuts with his bomb-jumping prowess, but one unfortunate hit or goof and you're done, and Plague Knight is much more vulnerable to such situations than Shovel Knight is. Needless to say, trying to go through this stage checkpointless with Plague Knight has proven to be a royal pain.
I still can't get that feat (Checkpointless) to register though, even though I'm pretty sure I busted every checkpoint...
+Laggalot101 nah, use sentry bomb and that giant bottle. The boss was hard for me, i had to use boomerang with spark and log fuse to kill him.
janmarco perez batres Propeller Knight was also a huge pain for me playing Plague Knight. I constantly got knocked into the pits he created. I only managed after getting the plated robes or whatever the game called that, reducing knockback taken. Meanwhile, the rematch in the tower is actually rather easy...
As plague knight, I was actually falling into a hole when one of my bombs hit him. The essence glitches and went down too. It's was amazing
Owen Marcovitz That's normal, actually. In the event of a double KO, so both you and the boss getting downed at the same time, you win. There's a small window after you lose all your health where bosses can still be hit if there's any projectiles remaining on screen, so if that happens to finish the boss, well, you still win. And that includes falling into pits.
And yes, I've had this happen to myself before, a few times, including against Propeller Knight.
Plague Knight's campaign seemed like it required more planning and strategy in general imo.
I think all I have to say is "Wind" and somebody'll get PTSD from this level.
Especially if they played Plague of Shadows.

Funnily enough, this stage is a trillion times easier with Plague Knight. Just utilize Float Burst, and you'll pretty much breeze across this level.
Plague Knight and Shovel Knight disliked this. Seriously tho, this stage was a pain, but it was SO worth it to get this music sheet :3
Interestingly, this stage was extremely easy with Plague Knight. You MUST have to purchase Float Burst and The Vat, however. That way, you can literally fly thru da whole stage, and bottomless pits are much less of a problem. Yuh, the heavy gusts can still kill ya, but even that part can be done under 5 attempts.
Plot Twist: It was actually Propeller Knight and her companions that disliked this.
One of my friends' favorite character is Propeller Knight, and when I asked her, she sang this really loudly and ran out of the room XD

Typically, the air levels are my least favorite, and yet, this one is probably my favorite level in the whole game. The good music helps too.

IMO, the level was fairly difficult, but propeller knight, holy crap. Somehow, he always was able to catch me off guard and push me off the stage with that wind attack. Then, if that didn't do it, he would stab me in midair while I was above one of the holes, leaving me to helplessly watch as Shovel Knight fell to his doom.
+Caleb Nash As Shovel Knight I always felt that Propeller Knight was one of the easier bosses, to the point where I thought it was odd he was one of the final bosses in the game. As Plague Knight, fuck this guy, everyone else becomes a cake walk, and this guy is the one who gave me the most problems.

What a difficulty spike. Truly a challenge on Shovel of Hope. Secret Final Level tier hard on Plague of Shadows. And an immense power trip on Specter of Torment, being able to slice right through the cannonballs and cheesing Propeller Knight with your jump swings and homing strikes.
The first 12 seconds or so make me think of music for working out or something. Still great.
I feel like this track reflects Propeller Knight perfectly! His gracefulness and pride for his magnificent airship really does show in this. Unfortunately I just wished he got a few renovations done before I got to raid it the 1st time I played this level. This level was annoying lol.
I'd love to be able to hear each track layor on its own.

This was my favorite stage in the game i died only 3 times,but the tower entrance thats the hardest level in the game i died 48 times in the tower entrance ( at least its not as bad as 6-5 in super meat boy i died 537 times on that level)
This is both my favorite and least favorite level in this game. The music is awesome, it sounds so heroic and triumphant. And the theming is cool, a flying skyship with all kinds of traps and weapons to keep you on your toes. But actually playing the level? Like I said, it's in the sky, which means lots and LOTS of bottomless pits. This is the level I die the most on barring the final areas of the game. And most of them are to the giant pits you have to cross. I go from rich to broke every time I reach this stage. There are dozens of Shovel Knight-shaped holes in the ground below the ship.
Only.
Saving.
Grace.
Without this song being so catchy, I would have quit the game and never finished it.

I'm making a video game series right now called the "Kids" series. In the 4th game, all of the mane six from MLP:FiM would be bosses. This would be the perfect music for the area where you face Kernel Cyan(can you guess which character I'm referring to?).

Well yeah, I guess if you just spam the phase locket repeatedly.
Still, exploiting an extremely easy to get and use item doesn't make this fight any easier, it just makes it unfair for people who missed it. (Like me.)

If you got the phase locket use it a lot, it will obviously be useful for the wind spike bits, seconsly remain calm, dont equip the heavy black armor it will make the platforming slippier and much harder to deal with. Try and find the propellor dagger, it is by far the best item for this stage, it will allow you to easily breese through the platforming.
thebutterbiscut inc. I finally beat the stage before I read this comment. now on to the tower of fate! the entrance level is difficult. not as many spikes, but still difficult. (also, I bought the propeller dagger after I beat the stage.
It's unimaginibly easy with Plague Knight. Just use the Big Boom or Component Powder. You can also use The Vat when he tries to mince you with his rapier. When he's in the air summonin' his ship, y'can just go under him and blast the living shit out of him with Component Powder. It can be done under 10 seconds extremely easily.
Plague knight would be better in smash imo
