GE uses steel braided fuel lines going to the injectors which have a history of leaking and catching fire. That is why lots of GE units are burned up in the middle. EMD uses steel fuel lines and rarely leak.
They do not use braided lines to the injectors. They use a steel line designed for high working pressures. The fuel hose on the fuel supply line is fuel rated rubber hose. The steel lines will break if installed incorrectly such as not tightened properly or over tightened causeing the lines to break spraying high pressure fuel over the engine
I know this is a very old comment, but it could also be a blown turbocharger, from what i remember the oil line for it is usually a cheap rubber which wears down overtime, which causes the oil to start leaking, and when enough of it leaks, its ignited and fire starts spewing out of the exhaust, usually they arent dangerous since the fire cant reach the main parts of the engine, but a year or 2 ago embers from a blown turbocharger started a small forest fire along dry grass in california
Well done! (If you'll excuse the pun) ... You ought to do just a normal excursion with a BNSF train that utilizes an old "B" unit (cabless) locomotive after the lead, since BNSF seems to be the only railroad that still has them in operation...
Very Very........ Spectacular. The fire was put out by a firetruck that didn't even have to spray it... Might have been a good scene to keep in the production huh?
At least when I worked there ~15 years ago, the BNSF GE locomotives did not have the type of continuous condensate drains that "click". They had the ones that would blow every few minutes, and scare the SHIT out of you if you happened to be walking past them at the time lol.
+gustavtime Time 2:20 *Spotted smoke from the cab of Burlington Northern Santa Fé fleet no. 4420.* Late-model Diesels don't have high voltage/high current electricals in the cab. Instrument wiring that could arc over under certain conditions? Or was 4420 doomed by a fuel leak, as occasionally happens to vessels at sea?
At first, everything is good, but all of sudden, you small something burning, you make an emergency stop and the cab on the 3rd train is on fire, what do you do?
As the simulation of an electrical cabinet fire which spread to the cab of unit 4420 while in the middle of hauling an intermodial manfest as by the time the engineer and conductor were alerted to the inferno when they put the train into emergency tying up a crossing when those wonder of the overseas fire trucks called to put the fire out.
I am short if I say that is an excellent video, Really fantastic video, Very realistic and very useful the graphics, That if it is to get juice to the game, Greetings Gustavo. (Y)
GUSTAVTIME Breaking news:A BNSF Dash 9 caught fire while trailing in a BNSF Freight train, there were 9 crewmen in all three locomotives 7 survived,2 died(in BNSF #4420)here we talk with Rober Will:Yes,i Was in BNSF 7300 when #4420 catched fire,we called 911 but they were unable to save 2 of 3 crewmen on BNSF 4420. The cause would be that either Was a short circuit,Poor manteinance or an arson fire,we return later this is CCB TV.
Breaking news: this is Bay news 9. A BNSF engine caught fire while trailing there was smoke coming from it and there were 2 engineers in the front engine. None in the 2nd engine or the last 1. Engineers called 911 and put out the fire but the train wash towed back to the BNSF yard. Once they saw the engine, the manager was shocked. He was not hoping for this. This is bay news 9, out.
This animation would have gained a lot of realism when the makers would not have chosen for using French fire brigade vehicles instead of American and would have admitted at least one more "engine" to that fire brigade team which would have been used for the water and the pumping of it. Just my personal opinion.
I find it funny because I saw a BNSF numbed 4420 yesterday while I was out on the road lol.
Lol same
LOL
I saw 1 of your old video of a bnsf on fire when I was 6 or 7 It made me have a flashback of good old memories 😊

Jaw Tooth oh my god hi
That fire was burning so long I'm surprised that the engine didn't blow up.
@Donald Palmer That is not fire. That Is Smoke Build up, Because The Windows and Doors We're Closed :)
If you ever see an engine like 4420 be sure to have it inspected to be safe.
I really like your videos
You should check out Train sim world
I have it on xbox1 its awesome
I LOVE Your videos
gustav, i like this video very much, God bless you, sp brazil, valeu.
Nice gustavtime
I've had that exact same horn on my ES44's. That was until I switched to the Searchlight Simulations K5HL.
Anybody notice that this is ostensibly set in North America but the fire brigade uses European equipment? Blue lights and all!
funny for the first few seconds i thought this was real LOL
Thank you
Storm22471 same here i though it was real
GUSTAVTIME what is the 1st engine pulling 9 - 44 cw
Storm22471 you know people really die in trains from stuff like it's not funny at all

Your vids are amazing
I love how they just keep going lol "it's fine"

"All you had to do was follow the damned train CJ" was all i kept hearing watching this from San Andreas
At first, everything is good, but all of sudden, you small something burning, you make an emergency stop and the cab on the 3rd train is on fire, what do you do?
Well, wounder how long the firetrucks DROVE to the US?? And how is it still lit, it would probably end in what, 3-4 hrs??
You see the middle of the locomotive? That is a red flag right there. That means the locomotive was damaged by fire before.
I could tell it was engine 4420 that was going to burn just because it looked more faded out and the heat marks around the exhaust

Average NS SD80MAC experience
why did the cab caught on fire???
Some short circuit maybe
Maybe...
No it was an arson fire I know, I started it.... I MEAN UM YEAH A SHORT CIRCUIT
😂😂 heeeeee staaaaaarted iiiiiiit
Shhhhh nobody knows
Wow I never seen a train that only had GE 9-44cw
Is this amazing editing or can this actually happen in the game? If it’s editing then well done. If this is the game then this is an awesome game
As in most of my videos here there is a lot of textures, routes and modifications to try to simulate reality to the fullest. Thanks
GUSTAVTIME ok thanks for letting me know. One way in a different train game I know of is you put invisible tracks to simulate something like this
Here, for example, use invisible clues ruclips.net/video/qGM_c_p0i3c/видео.html

Does the GP38-2 horn come with the locomotive pack or is it a separate mod?
I don't understand why they didn't stop the train sooner if they knew there was a fire in an engine.
how did you made that fire?
French fire trucks ☺️
They will fixed this burning train?
Why is the train still rolling when the cabin is fully ablaze
5:02 get prepare in impact
how do you set the trains on fire like this in this game
Wow, if I was a railroad crew and this happened on one of my secretary engines or lead engein it would scare the shit out of me!
