I've heard folks complain that Richard's music isn't like The Verve, and calling it "Old white guy music".....well...newsflash here: He is aging just like all of us, and these songs and this music comes from experiencing different stages in our lives, as we get older, we have different things we focus on and do. I LOVE his new music, as it really resonates with me and my life now. Keep it up, Richard. It really speaks to me, and I am sure gazillions of others. It is perfect! :)

Back in 1999, I remember following RA in articles with a "secret solo album". Being the huge Verve fan I was and remain, it took me of the same highway I was use to and literally put me sailing on a boat of new music and personal growth. I love Richard Ashcroft from "Alone with everybody" to the present. He has remained true with his talent... when his guitar chords limit his playing, his lyrics and vocals refine a Solo genius! On a beach! What a lucky man :)

‘Alone with Everybody’ is, in my opinion, one of the greatest albums ever created. If nature/life had a soundtrack, that album would fit perfectly.
As much as I love Richard Ashcroft’s live solo acoustic performances, I really hope to see him with a full band at Kentish Town in November.

I'm a simple man. I see a Richard Ashcroft video. I click.
Haha! I'm a simple woman - I do the same - Who wouldn't?! The finest vocalist and lyricist of his (and my) generation and the coolest man on planet earth. His peers were trampling the celebrity circuit whilst Ashcroft quietly worked away creating music of understated brilliance. Always relevant, he's that rarest of things; a man who; in an industry full of poison and sleaze, guards his privacy and preserves his dignity.. No question that it means he has effectively sacrificed the level of recognition he truly deserves but he keeps his integrity. To be honest, I doubt our favourite'natural rebel' givrs a shit about recognition. He's nearly 50 and has never sounded so good. I don't know what moisturiser he's using but I need it because the guy looks as good as be did when he hit me sideways with 'History' with The Verve from the album 'Northern soul.' That was '95. 25 years on and he's still knocking my (unfortunately less well preserved than him) self, sideways with his sublime solo work.👌. All the very best to you and to all. Txx

Todd: Same. Remember being in the pub when this hauntingly beautiful, heartbreaking vocals started up.....with equally poignant melancholic lyrics. I ran up to the landlord "Who IS THAT singing?!!" Landlord: Richard Ashcroft singing with band The Verve , record is History, album Northern Soul"......Well I legged it out of the boozer (rare for me in those days) and ran all the way to my local HMV where I purchased Northern Soul album on cassette 😆. ( I was stupidly happy as well! )That’s the way music ought to make you feel surely?.....
