I am a BIG fan of WAR mode, it’s a fun, objective based mode where you get rewarded for playing the objective. This means you get to see team effort to get that victory. I havent seen that in any other cods prior to this one. I still play it to this day since launch and i hooe they will keep it in future cods

I actually really like WWII. I do agree that it had and still has a lot of problems, but it was a solid game after a few updates. I think that the main thing that killed this game (besides Fortnite) was the lack of content at launch. If this game had just as much content in it now if it launched, people might still be playing it if they continued to add content throughout the games life cycle. I'm looking forward to BO4, and hopefully it doesn't go down the CoD: WWII route and start off average and then turn into a good game when it is too late

    • @murphyc15
      @murphyc15 6 лет назад

Looks like it's going to be worse honestly. More content at launch but it appears that it will be sub-par content.

    • @Altsis
      @Altsis 6 лет назад +13

I do agree with that on some degree. I think the biggest issue with BO4 is the fact that it is much too different from previous CoD games and that it relies too much on tactical play and teamwork. While I personally can adjust to them, not everyone can. Its just too restrictive and alienating to those who are lone wolf players, or who don't use mics

Altsis if Activision let Sledgehammer finish AW2 then the game would have more content but Activision wanted them to make a WW2 game even though they were doing really good when they were making AW2 but if AW2 was made it would have more content but less people would have bought it

When michael left the game became awesome. I love that they started supporting fast paced playstyle and stopped nerfing certain guns but buffed all the guns by additional attachment. I've stuck to my guns since the beginning, I love this game. For me it was going back to standard boots on the ground. I'm just not quick enough and too old to keep up with advanced movement and lost my love for the competition COD had. I was a little disappointed with Zombies but I felt like the new regime brought creative game modes, weren't afraid to throw things out there and see what happens and listened to the community for the most part. There were only a few boring weeks out of the year for me. Could they have done things even better? Sure, and I'll comment on that when Ace puts out his other video. I feel like this game will be like that girlfriend people kicked to the curb only to realize she was actually pretty great.

Nothing. In all seriousness. I don't think they did much right at all. Lots of issues with that came from AW I.E Match making. Was never ever looked at. You still get no lobbies from time to time and when you do get a lobby and are in game, if people leave it doesn't full up the game until the game is pretty much over. A lot of the weapons felt very samey, the maps are way to small for how long the TTK was. In most cases if you weren't using the 3-4 killing weapons with fast firerates you would lose no matter what. Armor Division. Need i say more? This "Return" to boots on the ground isn't really a return at all. This is a fake imitator trying to do it. This isn't some Nostalgia glasses i'm wearing. I constantly and consistently play older COD games. I prefer them because it was before all the removal of core perks and TTK that was balanced and the maps being tailored for those perks and TTK. First it was jugg, then it was stopping power, then it was ghost, then it was footsteps. The community has ruined the core aspect of these games and are expecting it to be good without any of those things. Ghost was never properly removed, you can't hear footsteps in most Newer cod games. The last game where it was very noticeable was MW3. Maybe InfiniteW since IW cares about footsteps. Now the kick is people asking for shorter ttk when not that long ago people asked for longer TTKs. Not all CODS are the same. But AW and onward maps, perks, weapons. None of these things where made to work with each other in mind. Most WW2 maps blow because of infinite sprint, no footsteps, and long ttk. Also the perk system is odd. I seriously doubt anyone would say the old games were just like WW2. Cause they aren't even remotely the same. Maybe some of these so called "Old school fans" should play more than 4 hours 1 day to really say if ww2 is like older CODS. CoD isn't about a twitch based reaction shooter. Its about camping in buildings adsing and shooting 1 guy for an eternity. Being a 1 man army and blowing through 6 people isn't difficult sure. But its not something that happened all the time. You know why viewkick is so hated right now? Long TTK. Since you're in a gun fight for a good 3 years you end up seeing all the viewkick in realtime. Instead of it being instant. COD4, MW2, MW3, ECT all had large viewkick. But you died in 3-4 bullets at almost all ranges it didn't matter cause you were most likely dead anyway. Which brings in reaction based gameplay. Then better player you are the better you can instantly turn on someone and kill them faster than they killed you. Those moments are gone now. I'm not sure why Dead Silence/Ninja is even a thing. The only shooter on the market that hates footsteps that aren't very loud and properly blended into the environment. People talk as if sitrep pro was the worst thing in the world because it countered Dead Silence. Its the reason people camped. But i both agree and disagree. Dead Silence gives players zero audible Footsteps allowing them to run everywhere with no penalty. Players who didn't have it were punished out right with no way to counter it. COD 4, MW2, any game in that era where DS wasn't countered was an instant loss. It was unbeatable. Ghost and Dead Silence were the new bread and butter. If people wanted the game to be more skillful or "tactical" why not remove sitrep pro and dead silence and make footsteps the same no matter what? Loud and very easy to hear. Why was search not the main and only gamemode for comp? Why are perks even in comp? why are killstreaks? Specialist? None of these things make sense from a competitive stand point. Developers that don't care. With the awful patch notes, lack of support and proper communication. Scummy Microtransactions, laggy menus, laggy games. The list goes on.

When the new management took over the overhaul was one of the greatest comebacks in COD history. I was upset at first cause I thought the war maps replaced the 4 MP map in each map pack till I realized they were giving us all these free maps. Free content is always cool. I definitely liked the events especially the zombie one. I think the DLC weapon system was better than most but not quite as good as Infinite Warfare. It was bit grindy for us filthy casuals. The gun balance was great. The only weapon that I can think of that I would call OP at this point is the volkswagon gun. I'm actually excited to see what SHG can do with there next title under the new management. Thanks Ace.

I actually like this game. Weapon balancing was decent, events were fun, contracts worked well, less dependent on supply drops to get gear, war mode was a nice change of pace, a passable amount of historical accuracy, boots on the ground through and through, updates really improved the game. I will admit I wasn't a big fan of the map design, especially the base maps, but I actually found some of the DLC maps a pleasant surprise. It was a game that could definitely get boring but it was a solid CoD, I'd rather play it for another 5 years than deal with another Infinite Warfare.

Sledgehammer has done a really good job post-Condrey/Schofield of breathing oxygen back into the game. It felt like the development team got to make the game they knew people would like, rather than the one their management told them to code. Activision leadership should review what happened and learn from it, to become aware when they might need to step in a guide a change in their titles and keep the player base around.
I've really been liking the "Sandbox" map, with its lack of team model differentiation, and would love to see it expanded into a range of large, sandbox-themed maps as a playlist.
With the way lots of people approached objectives in WAR, I wonder if they realized it did not affect their KDR. It often felt like only a couple of us were pushing the objective, while a notable group worked on hanging back and getting sniper kills. Still, I'd like to see more WAR maps appear and keep the vitality around it.
All in, despite a slew of my friends getting dismayed at the game and never returning - I have really liked WW2, and it's been able to keep me entertained almost every day for nearly a year. It's been a success, for me.

That’s the best thing I like about this game is it’s back to COD. I honestly can’t stand the jumping and flying crap. If I wanted to play Halo, I’d get an Xbox. I played all those games and had some of my best stats in them. I just feel like it’s too easy to bowl over well planned strategy with spastic movements. There are many reasons for this.

They need to work on the game modes and mechanics in Hardcore....I’m strictily a HC player and I think getting kicked out the game after ACCIDENTLY killing teammates is a blow. They should of kept it like how it was in IW where if u shoot a teammate u just end up dying as a penalty. It ain’t fair that u would be carrying a team to victory and right before the game ends a teammate walks into ur bullet and u get kicked, that shit is annoying especially when ur trying to finish contracts that involves completing games. Also I REALLY DONT UNDERSTAND why they don’t have all the game modes that Core has on Hardcore. Why doesn’t HC have Hardpoint, Gridiron Capture the Flag etc. I hope the creators know that HC players would like to play these game modes but on Hardcore...If I wanna play Hardpoint why should I have to settle for playing on Core ? I like the way they responded to the community. Sledgehammer listened and weren't afraid to make drastic changes to the game in order to make the true COD fans happier. Some of the Maps were half decent too. This game also had something for everyone. If you were a sniper they had options, and maps, ie. Gustav, or if you were a camper you could run expeditionary with an explosive round shotgun. Rushers could run airborne, with an SMG. I guess what I am saying is that this game got better over its life cycle.

Hello Ace. Nice video as usual. May I share my opinion about what you said at 3:33 ? I know you like to listen to different opinions when people bring some arguments. ( sorry, english is not my native language. forgive me if I make some mistakes). I heard many youtubers complaining about BO3 DLC weapons system. But I started to doubt when I realised that I myself managed to get all the weapons ( ranged and melee weapons ). I thought I was the only one but, surprisingly, many of my friends got all the weapons too. I tried to find an explanation, and I have now my theory about that. I want to share here :
the very important thing to know is that me and my friends NEVER paid a cent ! We all got our DLC weapons for free.
Treyarch released 33 ranged weapons in this game. And they also released 11 triple plays at this stage ( offers that will guarantee a ranged weapon if you achieve a very simple challenge )
This means that you need to get 22 weapons by yourself with rare suply drops and all the rest by using those triple plays.
I made some statistics based on my own RSD openings : 16 weapons earned after opening 687 RSD : this means 1 ranged weapon every 43 RSD opened.
It is totally possible to open 2 RSD per day, by playing during a reasonable time, everyday, just by opening the special daily offer : 2 RSD for 45 kryptokeys.
43 RSD / 2 = playing just a few minutes per day during 21 days will get you a gun for sure.
You need to do that a bit more than 22 times to get the first 22 guns : this means 22 x 21 = 465 days.
Keep in mind that i am not talking about 465 days of FULL gameplay !! I mean : playing just enough to open 2 RSD per day, every day, during 465 days !
And I am not even taking into account the fact that opening more than 2 RSD per day is totally possible since Treyarch released TONS of special DOUBLE KryptoKey events + daily contracts ( 10 bonus kryptokeys every day )
So... In fact, you need much less than 465 days to get all the 22 first DLC guns.
Also, remember that from 1 to 22, you will not get many duplicates. you will start to get more than 1/2 chance to get a duplicate after reaching half of the way : approximatively the 16th gun.
465 days seems huge, but remember that BO3 was released in november 2015 !
It was kept alive during almost 3 years. This is the first time in COD history that an opus is still receiving new updates and new guns releases after so long time ( the last DLC gun was released in June 2018 !!! )
465 days is not that much compared to the 1K+ days of life time of this game.
And this is where I can make a conclusion about the BO3 DLC gun system :
IT FIRST REWARDS THE TIME OF GAMEPLAY !
It rewards the players who never stopped playing BO3 during the last 3 years.
It is actually 100% possible to get all the guns, but only if you were still playing it after 3 years.
It sounds like Treyarch wanted to reward fidelity first.
This is confirmed by the fact that triple plays activations were available during just a week ( then u had infinite time to achive the challenge ). Only players who were still following BO3 updates were aware of those offers.
This sounds fair to me :
    - rewarding the money is not fair for those who don't want to spend money . I know that many youtubers prefer it that way ( people like Tmartn hated BO3 system for that : just because he can pay a lot, but he cannot pLay a lot )
    - rewarding the skill is not fair too because it rewards players who are already good.
    - rewarding the time of gameplay is actually the best option, because it means that everyone can get all the guns, as long as they were still playing BO3 during its life time ( which was veeeery long compared to other CODs )
This is what I figured out : all the friends who got all the weapons were players who never completely stopped playing COD during these 3 years.
I know why so many youtubers complained about BO3 system : they were used to pay a lot and get the guns immediately.
( and I know it is not your case, Ace, by the way )
They did not realise that BO3 was an exception : for the first time, what you needed was to pLay a lot, and not to PAY a lot !
Remember what I said : 1 weapon every 43 RSD : 43 RSD is less than 22 days of playing the game a few minutes daily.
BUT 43 RSD is 8600 COD POINTS, at least !!!!
And now you see why all the players I know who got all the guns are actually big BO3 players, not rich players.
I need also to say that, for some people, playing that much is still " too much ".
I might agree on that, but you need to compare this to the especially long life of BO3 : 3 years !
    And last but not least,
    One last thing :
To be honest, there is no DLC gun that is really worth it.
the Vesper, the KRM, the VMP, the KN44, the Man O war, the Locus, the P06, etc. are all still good enough to challenge those DLC guns. ( I know what I am talking about , my KD ratio is 3.44, and my W/L ratio is more than 4. The weapons I used the most are the Weevil and the Vesper )
I would say that the Olympia is the only gun that is really stronger than classic guns. Even the XMC and the Marshal are now OK after their nerf.
    ------------
This is it. Sorry, my message was very long. This is because english is not my native language. I don't know how to explain things with less words.
Maybe some people founded some useful informations.
Have a good day, Ace, keep up the good work. you are my favorite COD youtuber ( with Tabor Hill )
    Good day everyone.

    • @punimarudogaman
      @punimarudogaman 6 лет назад

      POST SCRIPTUM :
I got all the guns in September 2017 ( after XMC's release). After that some other guns got released, still, but, as I said, I used bribes from triple plays. So that it was guaranteed anyway to get the new guns. Today, I still have 3 bribes that I never used. I keep them for now, just in case.

    • @punimarudogaman
      @punimarudogaman 6 лет назад

Post Scriptum 2 : And to be honest, I think that Treyarch don't want everyone to get all the guns. They make it hard to get them all on purpose to bring some diversity in the game. Getting all of them will be only for those who were playing during a certain amount of time. Which is not a problem since none of those guns are game breakers ( none of them is op compared to the best classic guns since the XMC nerf ) ... maybe except the Olympia.
So, my recommendation is : just play enough to get the Olympia. Then you can forget about all the other DLC guns.
Peacekeeper, PPsh, XMC, HLX, M14, RPK, Shadowclaw, FFAR (especially in Hard Core), Ajax (in HC) and Galil (in HC) are definitely strong guns BUT they won't give u an advantage compared to best classic guns.

I'm level 820 and I STILL don't have the olympia. It's the only gun I want and I can't get it.

    • @punimarudogaman
      @punimarudogaman 6 лет назад

If you don' t have the olympia, you can make a class with the KRM. it is not as good as the Olympia, but you have a chance to kill in one shot at the same distance. You need to kill the Olympia guy one time, then you can pick his gun. One recommendation : NEVER use the laser ! It was explained in a video of XclusiveAce, I highly recommend you to check his video about shotguns mechanics ( Driftor made a video too ). Also, you'll need to use dead silence and awareness to make sure you will be the first to shoot.
The marshall is not a good solution : it got nerfed.
      Good luck to you, mate.
One last thing : Maybe you are a good player and this is why you are already lev 820. What does count for getting kryptokeys is the time of gameplay, and only that. Even if you' re not good, as long as you play a lot, you will get guns one day or another.
Some players shared statistics about the kryptokeys obtaining rates : it seems that it only depends on the time of gameplay. Winning tend to give you a very small bonus... but it is minor.
Just to give you an idea : I became LEVEL 1000 on July 2016, but I got ALL the weapons on september 2017.
If you did not get all the 11 bribes from previous special Triple Play offers, it will be harder for you to get DLC weapons after the 16th one , because of the duplicates.
Unless Treyarch continues to release triple plays, even after BO4 release date.

I will say that War was the best thing about the game. Whenever I think about the fun I had with WW2, War is what I remember. Can't say I really remember any enjoyable times of regular gameplay. Just frustration. That's something to keep in mid for the future. Something like the War gamemode (doesn't have to be War exactly) has a place in CoD.

One thing that i think a lot of people in the CoD community overlook about weapon balancing is how inconsistent it was for WWII. The stats for most weapons changed from when the game launched and yea you can call that good balancing, but it also confuses and annoys the large casual section of the player base. And that's one reason why i think that older CoDs sold better, because they had to make sure the weapon balance was great before launch because they didn't want to change the meta of the game every other week

Tho shipment is remastered, and they added a zombies map that they already worked on on launch, carentan which is one of the campiest most horrible maps in the game and finally the headquarters as a playable map which was already in the game since launch, so they only implemented what they already had worked at before since launch, the only map that was new and not recycled to be used in MP was Sandbox which is a fine map, so nope bro they had ti give us these maps tonmake up for the lack at launch.

It's always been my favorite setting in a war game. I think War mode could be a great stepping stone towards something amazing in future entries. Like you said, due to its linear nature it got stale after a while. I think they were right to make supply drops so easy to obtain (as long as you play daily) and that they included past event stuff in them. I hope bo4 does this, cause this is one of my main reasons for playing a cod game.

I like that they gave us the option to make an excellent THROWING KNIFE class.

This COD has had me coming back for more since launch. Looking back on prior games I prestiged an average of 3/4 times. Working on my master prestige now and I hope the game continues to keep it fresh. Although I’m starting to see some tweaks to the game that maybe prepping us for BO4. or maybe I’m tripping. Happy hunting!

Stop worrying about people calling you a sellout if you like a COD game. You are a COD youtuber....of course you like it!
Anyway, the contracts/orders, as well as the constant addition of new guns, has kept me hooked more than any previous COD.

Glad War made the list as it is possibly my favourite addition to Call of Duty ever. I tend to grow bored easily and I thought this mode would lose it's luster quickly, but I still have a ton of fun with it.

I like the art style. The maps and uniforms for the most part have a gritty realistic ww2 feel. Also theres something very satisfying about gunfights. After going back to IW for awhile then returning to ww2... the gunfighting just feels good. Hard to explain or quantify but i like it.

Castle from WaW was soooo beautiful for 2008 standards. Imagine how awesome it may have looked had Sledge added it in the WWII

I honestly love the implemention of divisons and bacic trainings. Way better that Pick 10, at least in my opinion.

Marcus Rahbek I wont hate on you but I really didnt like the divisions. It feels too restrictive, it's better than launch. But still. Hunker or armored are almost necessary.

It’s more variable than pick 10 lol which I never liked, Cod Ghosts actually had pretty decent create a class system

Divisions and Basic Trainings were a fun, cool and a new idea which I liked but I can't say its better than the Pick 10 System. At least with the Pick 10 System the Perks were better balanced and allowed more variety. 1 reason why I love Infinite Warfare.
In WW2 the Armoured Division and Hunker Basic Training are very crutch due to Grenade Spam so I can't use anything else.
Again, not saying Basic Trainings and Divisions were bad.

@@SergeantQuackersThe2nd I think it's funny that every one talks about the pick a 10 system when im thinking why not use the black ops 1 class system I really liked it because you had your 3 perks and your primary and secondary lethal and non lethal equipment. Why not use this system again?

I'd love to see a Year 2 of CoD WW2, Season Pass 2, with 3-4 DLCs in 2019 and new events, with maybe a whole DLC dedicated to 3 or 4 new war maps, and if 2nd yr was focused on pacific theatre that'd be great.

I like the Skins system, all supply dropa give you a skin or an emblem. This skins have no advantage, just weapon skins, they allow you to rank up faster, but it’s extremely easy to get at least an epic skin. And the fact that DLC weapons are easy to unlock and they’re not OP, it’s something that makes a casual wanna play more and more.

Black ops 3 - loved safe guard. Didn't play much infinite warfare. Cod ww2 - loved war. Black ops 4 Beta - control and heist the most played modes. I love the unique and new modes they come up with. If only everyone played the objective though. I saw that the best in War.

As far as the action goes, Shipment 1944 actually saved this game for me. In BO1, BO2 and BO3, you could drop 70-100 kills in DOM with an average of 8 captures per game... you might even win the game with at least one, half decent player on your team. The new COD Community has slowed the overall pace of the game to a snooze-fest... and DOM on Shipment 1944 is the only mode where the old action exists. 18-25,000 XP per game on slow day, 30-33,000 XP per game when the enemy plays the objective.

Going back to BO3 showed me how great ww2 is. The menus are 100x better. Firing range gave you something to do while you were in lobby as did being able to look at all the players characters. cinematic shots of the match make load times more interesting. Even being able to look around before the match starts helped with boredom. until you get into a game on BO3 there is a period of about 2 minutes where you're forced to do nothing with no stimulus. That is honestly my favourite thing about WW2. After that it's the fact the game isn't pay to win. And after that it's the fact I can play as an Australian soldier with a badass uniform.
