You sure keep your place up. Looks really good. bushes trimmed, grass perfect. Your video is good for new owners, keeping your equipment as clean as you sets an example for them. I have a 2014 XTS1046KW.
Your place looks so beautifully kept! Really appreciate the time you have taken with this video! One question, you mentioned the starting point being the middle, adjusted to the preferred mowing height on the hand selector , and then measured the sides, not the front. Is there a number to use as a starting point for the front? If I select 3 1/4 on hand selector, should front match that and then likewise on blade ends?
Thank you, I enjoy yard work and find it to be very rewarding. At the 2:17 mark I'm lining up the blade tips under the center of the deck to make sure the blades and deck are not bent, I don't take any blade height measurements at this location. Measurements for the blade height are made between the ground and the tips of the blades when the blades are rotated to the outside edges of the deck, the front of the deck and rear of the mowing deck. I once tried to make the numbers on the lever match up with mowing height (#2 = 2" high), but when I did that it was impossible to raise the mowing deck all the way up to the #4 setting without the threaded rear adjusting rods hitting the bottom of the rear fenders. I've come to the conclusion that the numbers on the lever are arbitrary and don't indicate a mowing height of 1", 2", 3", etc.
@@Koolbob2 Good to know the numbers on selector do not coincide with inches, as that's what I was originally thinking! The center adjustment height is what I still am not sure about.
@@jeffreyscheid5596 There is no center adjustment height. The height is measured from the floor to the outermost tip of the blade in three locations for each blade: 1)with the blade parallel to the mower measure the height at the very front of the blade. 2) with the blade still parallel to the mower measure the height at the very rear of the blade. 3)rotate the blades perpendicular to the mower and measure the height of the blade tips at the outer edges of the mowing deck. It's difficult to explain in words, please watch the video again.
The best video ever for adjusting a deck. Thank you
yeah…if you’re a freakin mechanical engineer!
