There is no question about the beauty of Donij's voice. In fact, in an earlier comment I questioned why she was not given more solo parts. When talking about Carla, while we like her voice, we are thinking primarily about the "chandelier shattering" quality. There are few sopranos who can match Carla's upper register.

Hallo Einar, Die Doorn hat eine gute Stimmen aber hinter der Stimme ist nichts. Als Carmen in Cortona ....babino Caro gesungen hat, haben viele Zuschauer geweint ( Kamerabilder aus dem Publikum) Warum, weil Carmen die Tochter war die ihren Vater anflehte !! Oder in Tosca wo sie die Tosca sang auch die Floria Tosca war !! Fakt ist , daß die Doorn eine Schönsingerin ist, wie Maria Callas diese Soprane bezeichnete. Grüße aus Wien W.Tiller
