    I appreciate your teaching. Right now I am trying to learn Scrivner and struggling. Maybe this will be better. You did a great job with this video. You researched it and showed where you got your information from a Lion King wiki or Wikipedia. Then interpreted that and plotted it. I actually retyped your plot grid the same way you typed it and it helped me so much. Doing what you did makes it stick in my mind. I can use your example as a template to keep learning how to plot. It's so well laid out, so thank you for your hard work. I would give this ten thumbs up if I could.

    I've never seen the Lion King, but I heard that it's quite a bit like Macbeth. ☺️☺️

      The Lion King is the best! I have heard the Hamlet comparison but not the Macbeth one, but now that you mention it I definitely see the similarities :)

    Thank you, thank you THANK YOU !!! I’ve been looking for someone who could explain this better.
    Do you put on your grids where you put clues and red herrings?

    • @WritewithClaireFraise
      @WritewithClaireFraise  Год назад +1

      Yes I do!! I will track all of those in my plot grids, every red herring has its own column and I put in all of the clues pointing to the red herring and where I need to drop them.

    I like the idea of plot grids, it makes sense. But for that you need a rough idea of your complete story one step before, don't you? Because how else do you come up with the number of chapters (the lines in the plot grid)?
    Or does that develop dynamically?
    Let's say we start with the hero's ordinary world - chapter 1 (line 1). Then comes the inciting incident - new chapter (new line), etc....

      I add and delete rows on my plot grids all the time! I usually have a general idea for the beginning, middle, and end, and figure out which other scenes I need to throw in there. All of my plot grids develop dynamically.
      I also do what you said and use plot points (like the hero's journey) in my grids (I make a separate column for them), but there are often many scenes in between each plot point. So I'm constantly changing and moving things around. I hope this helps!

    I'm trying to break down my epic fantasy, and I have two main characters and a number of very important supporting characters who have their own arcs and goals. How do I create a plot grid for something like that without having a hundred plot columns?
