UNEXPECTED STORM FORCES ME TO CHANGE COURSE || OVERLANDING THE OREGON OWYHEES IN MY BRONCO: DAY 2
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 сен 2024
- Day two of overlanding the Oregon Owyhees in my Bronco starts early as I try to get as much in to the day as I can. The main point of interest today was to get to Leslie Gulch Road and explore the surrounding area in my Bronco. Day two brought rough roads, slow miles, and forecasted storms. But it was an epic day of Overlanding.

Honestly I was getting extremely bored but on RUclips out of the blue your video came and it just made my day and I really enjoyed. Keep sharing more and new adventurous moments with us. Stay safe.
Wow thanks so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed this that much. I’ll definitely keep the adventures coming
This place does not disappoint at all, I would love to visit once in my lifetime. The canyon, the rural feeling, the nature, the small mtns, cows, a river, challenging passes, horses, no humans, camping spots and just the general feel of the place. This was mind blowing to watch. That Bronco is bad ass, it made those sketchy passes seem so easy. This is what it was born to do and not roam at the malls all the time. Such a well edited vlog:) while showing us the drive from outside and challenging passes. This is one thing most people get wrong, the go to a beautiful place but only make a vlog talking sitting in a car without showing much.
Thank you so much! I do my absolute best to take you all along for every bit of the journey and paint the best picture I can of my journey! And yeah, the bronco is amazing!
The mud in the Owyhees is a beast of its own. Raised in Homedale and know that area like the back of my hand. Your right to question that area when water is involved. It's one of the largest Countys in the Us with the lowest population rate per acre. It's rugged, beautiful, and most of all vast. ❤
That's awesome that you live so close! I had heard that the mud was no joke, and even with a little moisture on it I could tell it was not normal mud! lol
@OFFTHEGRIND my rims on my Dodge has a spot inside that the mud collects and dries. It's impossible to remove it unless I pull the tire. Then I've got randomly balanced Wheels on a 2500 on 35s that is NOT known for amazing steering stock and its wonderful. Lol I built my truck to be able to enjoy the Owyhees at any condition. That place is in my blood. Your welcome to reach out if you need ideas or areas to adventure in our vast paradise.
What an amazing adventure man. Your choice of shots, editing style, your verbiage, everything, ties together so elegantly, all whilst displaying your adventures. Love to see it man, keep it up
Thank you so much for the compliment! I am so glad that you and many others are liking it so much!
Awesome video mate, looks beautiful out there. Thanks for sharing 🤠👍
Thanks!
Bro what a beautiful view thru your video. That's some awesome therapy for mind, body and soul.
Thank you! I always try to edit in a way that takes you on the journey as well and allows the viewer to just relax
LOOKS HERMOSO Y LIMPIO , TRANQUILO 🥹⛽💚❤CLAUDIA
Thanks for cleaning up. I hardly ever go camping but I always like to leave the camp site cleaner than how I found it.
Minus the mud I loved everything about this and so wish I was tagging along.
Thanks! Yeah the mud is no joke, wait til day 3 and 4 though!
Man that campsite was epic! The fire, the river, the chill acoustic guitar…bro… 🔥 🔥 🔥
Thanks Aaron! This was a pretty incredible day
Awesome video. Living vicariously through your adventures.
Thank you! I’m glad my videos help you do so!
Breathtaking.
I envy you for living in a beautiful country.. There are a lot of restrictions on overlanding in Korea, so I'm healing with this video
I’m sorry to hear that, but I’m also so glad that you can live through my videos! That’s exactly why I do it
Some places just take your breath away, period! Thanks for sharing this trip.
This is one of those places for sure!
Never overlanded before, but your videos make me wanna sell my truck, get a bronco and get out there! Great video!
Awesome man! I love my bronco, but I bet your truck would be good for it as well just to dip your toes in and see what it’s all about! I started in a Toyota Tacoma
I so envy you guys that live out west. The venues and vistas you have access to are absolutely breathtaking.
We are definitely very fortunate to have the landscape that we do!
Man your videos and edits have gotten so good really love all the drone footage in this one
Thank you! Always trying to get better!
The Owyhees are in my backyard and your videos completely do it justice. I love exploring there.
Awe me too. Grew up in Homedale and 90% of my off road experience is in Owyhee County.
Thank you so much! That’s an incredible compliment for someone like me to get! I’m glad I captured it well
I love the camera work! Excellent quality video and beautiful adventure. Thank you for sharing and cheers!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Another amazing video. This definitely made my bucket list of places to explore!
Thank you! Try and go in spring if you can when it is still green!
Gorgeous area..thank you for sharing it with us!
It’s stunning! You’re welcome!
Been working hard on building my rig, and other than a RTT, a fridge is on my short list. This would be perfect.
I'm Korean. I dreamed of overlanding while watching your video
Ikamper is made in South Korea! There’s got to be opportunity for you there! Assuming that’s where you still reside
Epic! Ive watched alot of overlanding videos and that terrain is def some of the most spectacular stuff ive seen 💯🤙🏻 🐎
This area is wild! It was an awesome few days
Awesome like always, David . Thanks for sharing !
Thank you!
This series is your best yet!
Thanks! I’m definitely wanting to do more extended trips
Nice video, looks like a great place to explore.
It really is! You could spend weeks here and not see it all
Such beautiful scenery, thanks for taking us along. Liked and subbed from South Africa 🤝🏼
Thanks and welcome!
Great series !
Thank you!
Awesome stuff man!
This place looks like a dream.
It is!
Well done well done 😊
Thanks Brian!
Fun vid. Love those Owyhees!
You’re lucky to live so close to it! Bummed we couldn’t meet up out there this time
Dude. So rad.
Thanks!
Another great vid with some amazing scenery!
Thanks jim! This was a great day!
watched 1 min until now, just impressed with your editing and location.
edit - watched full video, awesome cinematography. Cute Cows.
New sub from India.
Thank you! The cows were everywhere there lol!
Honestly I didn't know anything like that existed in Oregon. 😮😮 Definitely want to go check that out.
When youre overlanding like this are you ever afraid of being stuck or are you very confident in your gear/skills/rig? What stuff do you carry.
Getting stuck is certainly a concern but I am very picky with my lines and what routes I choose to take to minimize that. If I do get stuck im confident in the gear that I have
Recommend traction boards, winch, dead man off road, high lift jack or ARB hydraulic jack & straps and soft shackles.
Nicely put together, I really liked your drone footage. I’ve got to check that area out myself sometime. Heading to Deschutes National Forest on Sunday your video got me all warmed up. Great work
Thanks so much! Yeah you should definitely check it out but until then, enjoy your trip this weekend
Had to sub for sure, amazing vlog, amazing shots, looking forward to more!
Thank you and welcome to the Off the Grind community! Happy to have you!
The new glamping
Good quality content and story telling!
Thanks so much!
Great series. Some of your best work yet. One place the music was hard to hear your voice. But otherwise so so great! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you’re liking it! Balancing voice and music is hard especially because it Carrie’s based on what you’re playing it back on. Thanks for letting me know though
Man, what a beautiful area! Nice video. Just subscribed. I have a Bronco Badlands too. Love it!
Thanks and thanks for subbing! I fall in love with this Bronco more and more every day!
This is so freaking amazing. How does one get help if there is an emergency or the car breaks down in the middle of nowhere?
muchos arboles viejos que ahora se ven como montanas arboles gigantes
I really appreciate you sharing these adventures. I'm looking forward to the next video. Question for you: How much time is added to your trips for filming (setting up, recovering, etc)...and do you have any tips/tricks to help make the filming part easier and quicker for someone new to this? Thanks!
Thank you!
Oh man, it honestly takes probably 2-3x the time it would if I wasn’t filming. But it’s something that I absolutely love! Have your camera accessible. My camera and drone ride passenger so I can grab them quickly. But ultimately the best thing is repetition. When you figure out your style and the shots you like everything becomes faster. Just don’t get stuck in a creative rut for the sake of quick filming
Hey! Great channel and video, I really loved the work put in to make/edit this video.
Just curious, which Garmin product you are using and trusting?
Thanks so much! I use the garmin inreach mini! Great device especially since you can just use the app to send texts
I liked 😉
Just out of curiosity, is there a specific reason you are still running the stock good years? Seems that would’ve been one of your first upgrades.
Haha funny you mention that. I really wanted to test them out and see how they performed. I liked them at first but now I know they are a heaping pile of 💩
I get new tires on Tuesday lol
@@OFFTHEGRIND yeah picked up my badlands Sasquatch last month and I like how light the tires are but they are way too soft and really 34”. What tires did you go with, or are you going to drop a video on it?
better to avoid 😮
Don’t want to risk it when solo.
Oh man that was fun and I'm glad your back out hitting it in new areas. But I must say no one needs to see a man in short shorts. 😅 shorts to your knees or keep the pants on said every other man.
Dude that’s the longest pair I have! Lol
Every single overlanding video seems to start with folks making coffee and the same sounds. Time to try something new. After seeing the same thing for 10 years, its time to let this standard intro pass.
Glad to see you using Staun's - I have 3 sets for different vehicles. Great little deflators.
You’re not wrong. I fall in to that trap way too often cause it’s easy but I do actively try to change it up.
I love those deflators! They are excellent!
New to off roading! What number do you air down your tires to or is it just kind of an eyeball?
Hey! I air down to 18psi typically. Kinda depends on the terrain but I’ve found 18 to be pretty perfect for all I do and has a very small chance of rolling the bead at the pressure as well
Nice! Love your videos thank you! Just picked up my bronco today and your videos inspire me to plan more off road trips!
who's filming these drone shots as you are driving solo...drone tracking?
In an area like this where no one is around and it is low risk, I manually fly
@@OFFTHEGRIND gangster.
I see you are a little bit to scared to offroad. Having that beast I would have gone full offroad.
Not sure what you mean. I was cautious due to me being solo out there, but not scared
👋 looks awesome 👏 ⛰️
It’s a wild area!
no speak bro, then better i think
Turn volume off then
Ibad patel 🙂☺️😂😄😅
One thing is for sure. Nobody's going to ever accuse you of being a mall crawler! 👍
That’s the only reason I do it! Lol
It’s truly amazing how many things we get to see with our rigs. To never adventure, is to rob yourself of memories you’ll never forget. I can’t help but get *emotional* about it. Not only do we get to build out/nerd out over our vehicles, but we reap the benefits when we’re on, or should I say, off the road. Cheers my friend. Fantastic work. Followed. This is the no nonsense videography I’ve been looking for.
Thumbs up for your environmental consciousness!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Gotta keep the area clean so we can maintain access to it!
Great video, again! I grew up in western Idaho and can see Three Fingers Rock from my parents house.
That’s awesome! What a cool place to grow up in. And thank you! Glad you liked it!
Epic video! Looks like your timing was perfect. The greens, reds, blue sky…. Good job brother! 👍🏻❤️🇺🇸
Man, I don’t think my timing could have been better. I hadn’t seen any photos or videos of it green like this and it was incredible. And thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
WHERE IS THE BATHROOMS AT THIS TRAIL AND OTHER , NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT , I AM AFRAID WILLBE DURTY OF YOU KNOW WHAT!!! All OVER.
The bathroom is wherever nature calls. Bring a shovel
Just stumbled upon your channel. So much work goes into videos like these and you’ve put it all together really beautifully. Stunning scenery captured skillfully with your drone and cameras and topped off with really good storytelling and music that compliments the visual! Nicely done!
Thank you so much Jill! I push myself to always get better and improve so feedback like this is very motivating!
Do you think an offroad trailer/camper wound be ok where you went?
Yes I do. It might be really hard to navigate this area when it is muddy, but for the most part I think it would do fine.
Best part is ? Nobody!!! Epic epic epic ! Thank you sir !
Exactly!! Love being able to get away from everyone for a while!
HEY BUDDY COME DOWN TO BEND AND ILL SHOW YOU AROUND 🤙
There are some areas around there that I want to check out!
Awesome video mate! I am doing the same type of videos as you but I am in Australia. I have never watched a vid before for 30 mins and then gone back and watched it again. Epic shots and great commentary. As we say in Aus "Love your work mate!"
Dude I would love to visit Australia! I’ll check out your stuff. Thanks though man, I’m glad you liked it so much!
Awesome video. Living vicariously through your adventures.. Awesome video. Living vicariously through your adventures..
Dude, I'm in Puyalllap WA.....I'd roll with you.....
You just gained a new sub. Absolutely great video 👌🏼
Great video. Awesome terrain! Quick question for you. I have the TRMR rack w/the 3.0 mini. I was thinking of getting the ROAM 95L box and mounting same way. I saw setup in MOAB and the guy also had ROAM 95L Mounts on both sides. I notice you have a strap on the passenger side. Could you not get the 95L mounts to fit? Or, you just haven't purchased them yet? Thanks -
Thank you!
I couldn’t get the mounts to fit. I know you can get additions cross bars, or maybe can just move one to be closer, but I didn’t think to try that. That might work though. I know the 83L fit that way no problem since they’re a little longer
Good night. Brother hi
Hello how are you brother
I came across your channel for the first time, you did an amazing job on editing you videos, how did you get the beautiful drone shots, did you have the drone follow you? Just subscribe…. Thanks
Thank you so much! I’m always trying to get better and improve my content so hopefully it’ll only get better!
Most drones have a tracking function. If I am in an open enough area with no others around, then I’ll fly manually to get more artistic shots.
Great, just subscribed. How does one find the trails that you are on? Most RUclipsrs will not divulge that information so hoping for a hint anyway. Thanks!
Thanks so much! Yeah I don't like to give coordinates away either on this public of a space. I do give them away on Patreon though. But for this area, you can google some of the points of interest I feature and should be able to piece a route together pretty easily.
That mud out there can be no joke, like ice, and the Bronco fenders make for fun cleaning. If you are ever back in the area dm me, I'll take you to an amazing campspot and possibly see the wild horses in the area.
I’ve never experienced mud like that. It’s wild. And the wild horses were incredible to see! Love that area
Thank you from KSA.
Would love to see a POV helmet cam that shows the behind the scenes where you get out of the car and run ahead to place the camera then run back and drive past the camera, then run back to get the camera. You make it look so magical and smooth but there’s so much behind the scenes.
Oh man this video would be so much longer if I showed that lol! I love all that though. It’s a lot of work but I love that side of things
This is the kind of RUclips video that'll earn you that title of 'filmmaker'. INCREDIBLE job with this one dude!
Thanks so much my man! This was a fun day and a fun video
Amazing. I would like to do something like this one day. Congrats. Big fan from Brazil.
Thanks so much Alan! Get after it my man
I really like your channel, because I can learn more about pronunciation of the words in English.
Aw thanks so much!
Nice playing on the acoustic
Awesome! Thank you.
Great production
I would lobe to do the same and explore, do you have gps or something? I am scare of get lost
Yeah, I use Gaia gps. You are able to download off road maps so you can follow a route and know where you are. Your phone will continue to get a GPS location without service so it’s perfect
Wow great off-road adventure 😊👍💯
Thank you! It was incredible
New subscriber. Teddy mentioned you so I came to check it out. Loved the last bit I watched of tonight’s vid. I’ll be binge watching your other stuff in the next week.
Thanks so much! Teddy is a great guy and it was nice of him to link my premiere in his! I'm glad you liked it though and hope you enjoy the other videos I have!
When did you film this adventure because the green grass looks absolutely amazing I want to plan a trip for the exact same time. Cause I’m pretty sure in the dog days of Summer all that grass turns yellow
It’s almost always brown actually so I got really lucky. This was early may
@@OFFTHEGRIND That’s what I figured I went to the Steens in late summer and everything was just toast lol
I'm extremely envious of the land you have out west! Excellent video!
I feel extremely lucky to live out here! Thank you!
Greatly vids dude. I have yet to venture off on any solo or group multiple day adventure.... But, I really need to and am planning on it.
I highly recommend it! The longer I’m out the happier I am!
Can i make a twist? Can you create playlists for your multi day adventures? Searching for them to binge watch in orderisn't real easy
I have in for the owyhee series but you’re right, I need to do it for the rest of them. Like my BDR trip
@OFFTHEGRIND I've binge watched most of the Bronco content, now I'm going into your older content with the Yota. I'm honestly impressed with the consistency of your content in that when you changed vehicles the only thing that changed was the vehicle. I like that you are not about tearing up your vehicles for views. Any chance of a "Who is David" video? I can't be the only one interested in where you come from professionally and what prompted Off The Grind to become a thing.
to think this is a one man job!!!, amazing trip and videos.
I’m feel extremely fortunate to call this work, even if for a short time. Idaho is next up!
Incredible is right, Thank you
Thank you!
Such an awesome video! Really enjoyed this trip. All the camera work is beautiful!
Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing this amazing place. Can’t wait to enjoy for myself. Simply epic
I hope you get out there soon! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Bro what camera do you use to record footage? Great video
I use a Sony A7c
subscribed bro
Awesome video man. Cant wait to make ot out there.
I can’t wait to make it back. I literally day dream about this place
I enjoy your videos. spanish please🤗
Thanks so much! I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish actually
Beautiful 😊
