I remember this one time I had a hellion die. I was pretty upset because, I had created this backstory where she was the surrogate daughter to my only man-at-arms, so he had become an alcoholic as result.(which meant he had gotten the condition where the character will only drink for stress relief while the others were out exploring). But then a while later the event where you can choose someone from the graveyard to be resurrected happened, coincidentally after I'd revived the hellion I had given this backstory to, I noticed that the man-at-arms condition had changed while he was relieving stress at the bar, from alcoholic to resolution.(which is the one that says you can't drink for stress relief.) So in my head this meant he had, after reuniting with his formally deceased daughter, sworn off drinking.

I can relate. Both Dismas and Atreyos (Reynauld) died in the Courtyards. I escaped only with Gurney (Flagellant). I see a lot of tips on DD telling players to not get emotionally attached to their heroes and to treat them like fodder and here the fuck I am dressing them up, packing their lunches and waving goodbye as they run off into a dungeon with the possibility of them never coming back.
Went on a mission and lost my best Grave Robber. Abandoned it out of sheer despair, got back to hamlet and BOOM, "FROM BEYOND" TOWN EVENT; I CAN PICK FROM ONE OF THREE HEROES TO REVIVE, AND GUESS WHO ONE OF THE OPTIONS WAS. HEROES. NEVER. FUCKING. DIE.
My Jester died of bleeding while on death's door but bought enough time for my plague doctor to be healed and my arborist to get a crit of 42 on the Siren. Rest in peace.
Same here I just got off the game after losing my Hellion Piquiri to find this. She died so the others could escape the Darkest dungeon all because my crusader Nelond couldn't hold out.
Legendary Alevi... The greatest occulist ever... Died by boss of first Darkest Dungeon mission... Standing alone, at the end, with horror in front of him, half crazy, but still holding life... As everything in this cursed place... [*]
Heart attack? Dammit, may he rest in peace... With Rennes Rennes was my champion leper He died two hours ago, in a fight with the Great Necromancer that summoned a Bone General Rennes was already psychotic (around 150/200) then and my stress healer skipped turns And then Rennes received 2 critical hits from the General Despite my efforts to heal him, he died of a heart attack
New player to this game, and this was me in a nutshell when I lost my favorite hero so far. Reynauld the Master Crusader... You and Dismas helped brought me to the manor, you fought valiantly against many foes and never gave up. Your life was cut short against the Necromancer along with two other mighty allies. Forever damn the Vestal Raimbeaucourt who refused to let you and the others fall back claiming that they’ll die with die in dignity until she was the only one left and ran away when her life was next to be taken like the coward she is. Your deaths will not be vain as the next time we meet that Necromancer, we’ll drag him to hell. R.I.P Reynauld, Master Crusader, Week 1- Week 24
i like occultists, until i got my wolves at the door event during my first run, and ALL throughout the goddamn dungeon, my occulitst always bled my team dry while healing almost nothing. he was the only survivor...needless to say, i fired him XD
One healer, one damage dealer, and one ranged damage dealer ALWAYS!!! Stress isn't so much a problem if you use the right camping skills. The 4th slot can have anything you want to level up. Say...an antiquarian? They make for some nice loot gathering. Get rich quick. Also, ALWAYS get rid of the impostor syndrome quirk. Its a killer.
I just started playing this game yesterday and oh boy I felt that when I lost my first Vestal. Sure she was riddled with troubling perks and often ate her holy book but that was a part of her charm. She was immediately replaced with another Vestal who I decided to throw her in with in her very first Babby's First expedition to the Cove. She was then merc'd by fishmen. Troubling times, these.
I remember my first Vestal... Her name was Neot. She died because of a heart attack, that hit her during a fight with the Shambler. Rip In Pepperoni Neot We will never forget the way you screamed at me when I tried to put you in a party with a Abomination...
I remember my first and best equipped crusader, Fairfax; he was a really good crusader, but he died suddenly when he was slaughtered by the collector Rest in Pepes Fairfax the crusader
i don't remeber any of my guys that died, not the name or the reason, it was their job to fight, they failled, death is the punishment, there are plenty of fish in the sea
This is why I changed my game files to make the “From Beyond” event happen more often. I literally could not care less about anything else, not the 15,000 gold it takes to bring them back to working order, I just want Muffin, my one and only Plague Doctor back :’c Call me a coward if you like, but I am way too sentimental towards games in general.
I play this on the Switch and the amount of times I've restarted files because I've lost favourite heroes is unbelievable. It might go against the spirit of the game but damn, I want my favourites!
@@1Thunderfire But thus you compromise the idea of the game... It's actually a simulation of life and you need to deal with the shit that life throws at you... That being said, wouldn't we even step down to the Tartarus in real life to save the ones we love from the clutches of Death? ;-)
Just had a Shieldbreaker named after a very close friend of mine step on a trap in the Courtyard. She instantly went down to half and the trap summoned 2 enemies. They both went before any of my characters, proceeding to crit her on both of their attacks, killing her without the opportunity to even react. Feels so very bad man.
Same lost my favorite and highest plague doctor to her calling my food shit and then suffering a heart attack from eating it. I camped to prevent you from having a heart attack, man.
RIP Pecke I, who perished due to my foolish oversight in not removing Wilbur's mark, by means of a critically obliterated body and a final "End this one!" as his grim deathblow. May his legacy be carried on through his descendent, Pecke II.
Yup, lost my champion shieldbreaker to the shrieker when I equipped myself to slay the bird rather than to survive. Up the then he was part of my staplechampion squad of vestal, jester, and highwayman (I just kept rotating between finale, imaple, and pointblank shot). I got cocky and the loss of this unit really humbled my ass.
Notes to all players: Try to NEVER interact with curios with your bear hands. Use an item whenever possible. I never go into a dungeon without at least one shovel, 2 keys and medicinal herbs to clean a carcass and get some free food maybe. Yay cannibalism!
I'm playing this game for the first time and got this idea of "Hey, I'm going to keep these bros, Reynauld and Dismas, alive for the end." I took them for all these missions together, gave them the best gear... and then Reynauld died on his first Veteran Weld mission due to some very shitty circumstances. Enemy 1 blighted him, enemy 2 critted him for massive fucking damage, then the blight damage immediately killed him, I yelled "FUUUUUUCK!" and after the mission Dismas actually gained a goddamn Weld Phobe quirk. T_T
A few days ago, I lost Dismas. He was fully leveled, I'd locked in some damn good quirks, he was one of my star players. And then I decided "You know what, the run was great, but I'm not going back to the hamlet just yet. Maybe I can get some good loot from this Shambler fight." Now Reynauld will venture into the Darkest Dungeon without him. I got overconfident.
It's even worse when it happens to a regular mob which you feel you could somehow prevent (rather than say to a boss). Or when it's the DOT damage that deals the final blow before you get a chance to cure it.
Reminds me of my favorite Flagellant, McDowell “The Towel”. He was with me from the very beginning, and was ready to throw himself at the front lines to eat everybody’s damage for them. He was a god amongst men; no man could kill him while he was on death’s door. The pain only made him stronger. Then, I got a little too reckless, pushed on for “just one more room” in the quest to slay the Baron... He was lost to a heart attack.
I know I’m late but I want to share the story of my man at arm’s I was short on gold and decided to do a treasure run with some random heroes I found, I expected all of them to die but the MAA went vigurus (I don’t know if that’s how you write it) and carried everyone, I said to myself “neat, I’ll take it in the next one”, where he also went vigurus’ and so in the next one. After that, I knew this wasn’t a coincidence and I started to add him to official runs, where he proceded to buff and kill like a champ, that is, until the swine god killed him in that horrible run after giving his last buff. Rest In Peace fallen lengend, May my bounty hunter and you share a drink in heaven
I like the player stress level you had in the corner. I wish more people would do it and expand on it, because it's relatable and therefore funny to see.

Expect to reach death's door every turn with the giants. That's why it's so important to kill viragos and other creatures first. Just a tiny bit of chip heal every turn is enough to bring a character away from death's door and thus render giants useless on their own.
After some time I realized, that if I teke the battery out of my laptop quick enough, than the game won't register the deathblow, and when I restart the game, my hero is still alive
Darek Krakowski I keep my foot on my extension outlet (the thing that gives you extra outlets), in short I have not lost a single hero, but my pc now looks like a baked potato. (j.k. just lost 2 heros ;-;)

Happened to me recently, just got the brigand incursion event for the first time and I went in with some if my best characters. Things did not go well. I'd forgotten that my vestal was still pretty stressed so she got afflicted real quick into the fight. My crusader went down first, a hero protecting his party. Then down went my grave robber, who was the only one doing any damage. At this point I decided to retreat, but the stress of retreat caused my vestal to have a heart attack and die. That left just the plague doctor to retreat, the only survivor. I didnt play the game for quite a while after that. RIP Gueron the Grave Robber, Thaon the Vestal, and Richard III the Crusader. You were all absolute legends.
Lost both my highest level Vestal and Plague Doctor to the fucking Prophet. My highway man and Helion finished him off but I felt really depressed for a while. Both were the first ones you get in the game and I trained them up so much.....rest in peace you 2 beautiful angels.
Just died with my whole squad. All of them were my best men. I died cause i got suggested to use a torch on a shamblers altar. Oh boy. What's worse is that i should have won. But my luck was simply just so bad that i lost my entire team. Giffard included. I might as well just start a new game. Would probably be actually easier to come back from that.
Rule number one. Don´t get attached to your champions. Still hurt to love my level 5 highwayman because of my incompetence. he didn´t even die in a boss fight or something. He died leveling a bunch of lv 1 noobs.
The first one to die was Fitz, the doctor. She went to the cove, but the bounty hunter was soon stressed out of his mind, and took his anger out on her, dealing the killing blow. The second I remember was Howard, an abomination. We were nearing the end of our mission, when our supplies of torches ran out and suddenly, we found ourselves against this strange shambling creature. He was the only one we lost, but he was the greatest hero we had... Another death was Dismas. Killed by none other than Vvulf. We had to flee and lost a second hero, but just the week before the Wolves returned, he returned as well, and made sure to land the last hit on the man who killed him.
rip Vavassour the Hellion and Maylillie the Plague Doctor, one died to a bunch of rabid dogs and the other died to a last tile of dungeon collector fight
Just wait for a From Beyond and pray to the eldritch abominations RIP Mirage, Plague Doctor Week 1-Week 5? I shoudn't have lit that altar Also RIP Lady Maria, the Grave Robber Week 4-Week 8? May you not receive stress damage due to hunger
This is why you should be able to mark characters as favorites and if they die you get a flashback of a whole bunch of clips when they crit or something
I put the torch on the Eldritch Monolith out of curiosity and survived Got ambushed halfway in a medium quest in the weald and all four lvl4 heroes died for DoT (EXACTLY YHE SAME TEAM FROM ABOVE) This games is a blessing Also, after surviving the Eldritch mistake, I got the letter where It Said Mizir, thrice be dammned, did the same to his party. If only I hadn't thrown away so many diaries tank to resources management, maybe I'd be prevented against that sooner
DEUS VULT! They are my favourite class ,too. I like how they take the role of a noble knight, who encourages the team to withstand even the worst situation(camping skills).

I see a lot of tips on DD telling players to not get emotionally attached to their heroes and to treat them like fodder and here the fuck I am dressing them up, packing their lunches and waving goodbye as they run off into a dungeon with the possibility of them never coming back.
I hurt myself, but shall I never stop loving my kids
Damn. That crit was nasty!
HEROES. NEVER. FUCKING. DIE.
I'm so glad you edited the fight with only action scenes
TWO Crusaders?! Thou must praise the sun often!
Giant Dad I'm doing a "holy war" playthrough, only crusaders, nuns, and lepers, and occasionally a plague docter
Sounds very holy and cool!
its actually really powerful
Pyro Paragon they're called "Vestals" for those nuns you might be talking about
My Jester died of bleeding while on death's door but bought enough time for my plague doctor to be healed and my arborist to get a crit of 42 on the Siren. Rest in peace.
jullian browne just wait for the "From Beyond" event and he might return...
My Jester died from bleeding too but it was because of Masohism.
Well... my grandpa just died to the crimson curse literally an hour ago and RUclips decided it was a good idea to recommend this to me.
Attacks were coming after attacks, death were calling him... But what is dead, cannot die... He didn't die from stabs, but from madness... Our body betrays us when most needed... As everything in this cursed place...
[*]
Heart attack? Dammit, may he rest in peace... With Rennes
Rennes was my champion leper
He died two hours ago, in a fight with the Great Necromancer that summoned a Bone General
Rennes was already psychotic (around 150/200) then and my stress healer skipped turns
And then Rennes received 2 critical hits from the General
Despite my efforts to heal him, he died of a heart attack
I lost an entire party to necromancer when I didn't know that you could flee from dungeons. I was younger then and I have learned from my mistakes
"You cannot learn a thing you think you know..."
Maria Nelson same here
Darkest dungeon asks of you to make the best of a bad situation.
R.I.P Reynauld, Master Crusader,
Week 1- Week 24
Try mostly using occultists
RNG hell, I swear half of my heroes have gravestones saying “______ bled out due to wound inflicted by fellow hero”
i like occultists, until i got my wolves at the door event during my first run, and ALL throughout the goddamn dungeon, my occulitst always bled my team dry while healing almost nothing. he was the only survivor...needless to say, i fired him XD
There are mods that guarantee you get the From Beyond event. You can bring him back!
Shout out to the udertale music. For some reason I can't get my pacifist run to work in this game.
Lol
Uddertale.....
You scare me.
GamingAddict777 (Hoodiedude) the tragic tale of a cow
Just go genocide every time. You walk away with a ton of loot that way too. Every battle is a good way to loot more dead bodies.

That's how I felt when I lost my Very First Plague Doctor in the game.
The first Plague Doctor will always be the best Plague Doctor
I just started playing this game yesterday and oh boy I felt that when I lost my first Vestal. Sure she was riddled with troubling perks and often ate her holy book but that was a part of her charm. She was immediately replaced with another Vestal who I decided to throw her in with in her very first Babby's First expedition to the Cove. She was then merc'd by fishmen. Troubling times, these.
I remember my first Vestal... Her name was Neot. She died because of a heart attack, that hit her during a fight with the Shambler.
Rip In Pepperoni
Neot
We will never forget the way you screamed at me when I tried to put you in a party with a Abomination...
I remember my first and best equipped crusader, Fairfax; he was a really good crusader, but he died suddenly when he was slaughtered by the collector
Rest in Pepes
Fairfax the crusader
i don't remeber any of my guys that died, not the name or the reason, it was their job to fight, they failled, death is the punishment, there are plenty of fish in the sea
This is why I changed my game files to make the “From Beyond” event happen more often. I literally could not care less about anything else, not the 15,000 gold it takes to bring them back to working order, I just want Muffin, my one and only Plague Doctor back :’c
Call me a coward if you like, but I am way too sentimental towards games in general.
I play this on the Switch and the amount of times I've restarted files because I've lost favourite heroes is unbelievable. It might go against the spirit of the game but damn, I want my favourites!
MUFFIN
For some reason i burst out laughing and then fuck it's sad
May Muffin cure her death
I also have a loved Plague Doctor, Mustard. He/she hasn't died... yet... IM SCARED
I love the player stress level as it goes up and down...
Same lost my favorite and highest plague doctor to her calling my food shit and then suffering a heart attack from eating it. I camped to prevent you from having a heart attack, man.
Ah, but you hold favourites. The blame is upon you.
Ruin has come to our family.
you know that glittering gold and those trinkets and bobbles were finally paid for in blood
Rest In Peace; Level 5 Arbelest, Level 5 Occulist. You are living in my heart...
(and 2 very rare trinket)
RIP Pecke I, who perished due to my foolish oversight in not removing Wilbur's mark, by means of a critically obliterated body and a final "End this one!" as his grim deathblow.
May his legacy be carried on through his descendent, Pecke II.
What class was he?
houndmaster
3 tanks, what could possibly go wrong
*Death waits for the slightest lapse in concentration...*
I really appreciate the player stress level. Adds a whole new level of immersion
Coming back to this video because I lost three of my favorite hero’s
Yup, lost my champion shieldbreaker to the shrieker when I equipped myself to slay the bird rather than to survive. Up the then he was part of my staplechampion squad of vestal, jester, and highwayman (I just kept rotating between finale, imaple, and pointblank shot). I got cocky and the loss of this unit really humbled my ass.
Notes to all players:
Try to NEVER interact with curios with your bear hands. Use an item whenever possible. I never go into a dungeon without at least one shovel, 2 keys and medicinal herbs to clean a carcass and get some free food maybe. Yay cannibalism!
I go with 4-6 of each
needless to say, in terms of money, I have no money
I bring enough torches to stay at radiant light throughout almost the entire quest. I TOO HAVE NO MONEY.
Maybe I can get some good loot from this Shambler fight."
Now Reynauld will venture into the Darkest Dungeon without him.
I got overconfident.
It's even worse when it happens to a regular mob which you feel you could somehow prevent (rather than say to a boss). Or when it's the DOT damage that deals the final blow before you get a chance to cure it.
I love how its always the vestal that gets shuffled to 1st position
Reminds me of my favorite Flagellant, McDowell “The Towel”. He was with me from the very beginning, and was ready to throw himself at the front lines to eat everybody’s damage for them. He was a god amongst men; no man could kill him while he was on death’s door. The pain only made him stronger. Then, I got a little too reckless, pushed on for “just one more room” in the quest to slay the Baron...
He was lost to a heart attack.
Well no man killed him, he did it himself cause he s the only one who could have done it.
all those dear heroes, loved by the players
and here am i,who sacrificed 4 fresh heroes just to see what was the darkest dungeon like
I know I’m late but I want to share the story of my man at arm’s
I was short on gold and decided to do a treasure run with some random heroes I found, I expected all of them to die but the MAA went vigurus (I don’t know if that’s how you write it) and carried everyone, I said to myself “neat, I’ll take it in the next one”, where he also went vigurus’ and so in the next one.
Rob, a Legendary Arbalest, he was one of the first and was with me for such a long time. My greed and persistence ended up being your doom, my friend, I shall take that mistake as knowledge to further raids. "Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer" R.I.P
"I hate suprises" well if you live for risk and darkness, by all means bring few torches
I know that feeling bro...
Rip, "xgonagiv2u", lvl5 Hellion
Rest in peace Reynauld, I hope u find a good occultist that can heal at lest 1 hp without bleed. I sent the asshole to Oblivion
75 giant crit, the hell xd
Expect to reach death's door every turn with the giants. That's why it's so important to kill viragos and other creatures first. Just a tiny bit of chip heal every turn is enough to bring a character away from death's door and thus render giants useless on their own.
Damn some good ass editing here...
Rest in piece my Flagellant, you absolute buffoon with a death doors build that didn't resist the very first death doors hit.
I love the editing on this video
Ancestor's Candle and Moon Ring on the same guy? He had it coming.
Denied Phoenix lmao. Well i tried the boss summoning with bronze coin with the HELL mod. I got fucked by the swine god. rest in peace stanly and dog dude
You guys realize you can just close out of the game as soon as he dies right????
Doesn't work anymore, i tried. Or maybe it's just Steam.
So you're not only cheating but also ruining your computer. Good for you man.
That moment when npcs go full player mode and attack only 1 party member that is not even marked we all fell that
Lost both my highest level Vestal and Plague Doctor to the fucking Prophet. My highway man and Helion finished him off but I felt really depressed for a while. Both were the first ones you get in the game and I trained them up so much.....rest in peace you 2 beautiful angels.
RIP in Pineapples Giffard. You were too good for this world Q_Q
RIP, crusader... But while bad luck happens, healing was not focused enough on this guy...
Given the fact that this was 2016, it makes sense why this whole damn video series is full of Undertale music.
why do you have so few subscribers despite the qquality of your content?
I really enjoy all of your videos and hope to see more in future!
as long as someone enjoys it, its good enough for meh :P
Leon Funkner I would say it's his use of music considering how cancerous Undertale is as of now
Lost the first highwayman on the Old Road cause i didn't know how to use bandages, RIP
Losing a favorite hero.
I call it "Time to get the backup desktop save". Time
The first one to die was Fitz, the doctor.
*RIP to my first character that didn’t have a wooden cross at his funeral. I will never forget you, Crusader. Crusade well in the after-life.*
so you had the ancestor's candle but you decided to save those torches for what exactly?
TheSharpmarksman loot extravaganza
Then hit the extinguish when two enemies are dead. The loot is calculated at the battle end me thinks.
Shambler altar obviously
RIP Cormeilles the grave robber, I'll miss u a lot for u were my best 3rd slot hero.
rip Vavassour the Hellion and Maylillie the Plague Doctor, one died to a bunch of rabid dogs and the other died to a last tile of dungeon collector fight
TFW the game kills off your champion level Reynauld and you spend the rest of your days wishing the game had taken the Leper instead
Rip Dismas. You were too good for this world.
Remind yourself that a terrible party composition is a quick and straightforward killer
My plague doctor... I feel you man
Anger steadies the sharpened blade, and gives blood lust purpose.
The shame is not in running away, but not knowing when to do it.
I don't know how you can even like some of your heroes, let alone favourite one. I always feel like I'm being surrounded by monkeys.
Rip
Leeroy Jenkins
Abomination
Week 4-67
He stacked on damage when no one else could.
Still remenber when my vestal, my dear Delfy was melted by a crazy witch
grave revival event?
Just wait for a From Beyond and pray to the eldritch abominations
RIP
Mirage, Plague Doctor
Week 1-Week 5?
I shoudn't have lit that altar
Also
RIP
Lady Maria, the Grave Robber
Week 4-Week 8?
May you not receive stress damage due to hunger
On my first playthrough I lost Dismas and Grancourt on the same fucking apprentice cove. I was like " Fuck it, reset"
This is why you should be able to mark characters as favorites and if they die you get a flashback of a whole bunch of clips when they crit or something
Actually chadster idea
The death, such fate awaits us all one day... never forget
*sigh* my poor Auffrye the Leper. :C
Still miss him even though he was a deviant and had squint.
I put the torch on the Eldritch Monolith out of curiosity and survived
Got ambushed halfway in a medium quest in the weald and all four lvl4 heroes died for DoT (EXACTLY YHE SAME TEAM FROM ABOVE)
This games is a blessing
Also, after surviving the Eldritch mistake, I got the letter where It Said Mizir, thrice be dammned, did the same to his party. If only I hadn't thrown away so many diaries tank to resources management, maybe I'd be prevented against that sooner
Dazed.. reeling.. *about to break*
Yeah, trouble yourself not with this- *urp* with this Crusade. We're all *fucked* anyways, Morty.
Crusader is one of my favourite classes in this game, so it always pains me to see one die. Can I get a "DEUS VULT!" for our fallen brother?
DEUS VULT! They are my favourite class ,too. I like how they take the role of a noble knight, who encourages the team to withstand even the worst situation(camping skills).
You snuffed out the torch.
It was BOUND to happen.
Don't be mean to the caretaker, he's lost all his marbles since the Ancestor's fuckup.
A Vestal, a highwayman, a leeper and a Crusader.
KILLED BY A HEART ATTACK AT THE SAME TIME
Remind yourself that such missteps are the exception, and not the rule.
