I mean, when you have a defense contract, you are literally helping an institution meant to actively kill people, so... However, everyone is influenced by their material conditions, so if the person didn't genuinely want to get into the contract (since they are genuinely morally and politically against that), but it just helps them with their transition/health-care, than I cannot really judge since "you gotta do what you gotta do"/their health-care is very important, and sadly, in a capitalist dystopia (I suppose the US), this is the only way (these are sadly the material conditions Americans are put into - they gotta get into military stuff to repay student/medical debt and/or get free health-care).
