    Julio (44-3, 32 KOs) of Magdalena, Colombia is a former WBA and WBO 118-pound champion. The exciting, two-fisted banger won the WBO crown with a 12-round decision over Oscar Maldonado on July 28, 1997, and made three successful defenses.

    Julio believed that both Lewaba and Pacquiao were flukes. That seems to be affirmed when a lesser skilled but dirty Agapito made Pacquiao look very amateurish. Julio being an olympian was oozing with confidence. The look of confidence and how it transformed that moment when he felt the power is priceless. It's different with Barrera because Barrera expected a difficult fight with Pacquiao although he was confident he could handle it. Julio on the other hand was caught in a state of disbelief.

So the story goes that the regulars at the boxing gym claimed that they suddenly heard loud thuds on punching bag that was unfamiliar sounding to them. The sound of impact was unusually loud thuds they weren’t used to hearing and this young unknown boxer warming up at this gym was later discovered to Pac-Man.

    • @Jamie-Russell-CME

      Nationalism is necessary. It doesn't have to have baggage. The best model for a world order is individual, self determining groups of broadly similiar goals based on custom, traditions, culture, and often language. Ideally free and FAIR trade, common international human rights concepts, and then find ways to compete through capitalist markets. This type of system has nearly wiped out poverty across the globe. And faster than anyone dared imagine.
      Nationalism is individuality, patriotism, and a sense of pride and honor. Nothing wrong with that. Unless your white, so I hear.

Jorge didn't know that its better for him that Paquiao go for knock down in the early rounds, coz I'm sure he wouldn't want Manny beating him up badly in the rest of the rounds. The early Paquiao finishes him off, the better for him. Saves him a lot for hospitalization

    Its funny when people say Pac gained all this power when he moved up to ww. I always respond by saying have you watched any of Pac's fights at 122 & 126? That's when Manny had serious power becuz he was huge as a fw. His legs looked massive, they were proportionally much bigger than his upper body, it was quite obvious he was cutting a lot of weight and would grow into those legs. To me his power dropped off noticeably when he moved up to 130. He would stop guys on volume instead of the big thudding blows like in this fight.

    • @Jamie-Russell-CME
      @Jamie-Russell-CME 6 лет назад

      The seeming power could simply be the smaller fighters unable the absorb his punch because of their lesser mass. His punch chest weren't as high a percentage of the fighters body weight the higher the weight class.
