I loved this episode!! Let’s shop at second-hand stores more often. You have so much to offer your audience in showing them how to shop sustainable fashion.
It think this is my favorite of all time 🙏😍
I could listen to Trinny talk forever. Her knowledge of fashion, style and trends is mind blowing 🤯
2nd hand shopping is the best! Ive got me some real jams over the years in stores (Amsterdam) and online. Feels like treasure hunting🤩
My husband and I went to every 2nd hand store in Stockholm! It was one of the best vacations ever!!!
Wow, great episode. Makes me feel good knowing I shop thrift too! Do these trips more often.
I miss going to stores in England.😍
Lyla is not selfish. Shes happy for others to enjoy these clothes. That is such a high quality in a young person. Beautiful young girl with integrity. 🌸🌼🌸🌼👚🥿👛👗👡All fashion students,Trinny is your bible.
Really interesting video. Would love you to do more of this and to show how to mix and match purchases with your existing wardrobe.
Me too! Great video!
I've shopped 2nd hand for 20 plus years. All my favorite pieces were found in thrift stores.
Absolutely loved this!! More please!!💛💛💛💛
I absolutely LOVE charity shop shopping ! It's so exciting because you never know what you're going to find and then when you find a bargain you feel so smug! 😂😂 please do more of these videos Trinny. 🥰🥰❤❤
Love this Trinny and Lyla! I would say about 40% of my closet is 2nd hand clothing! I have found the most beautiful treasures in NY, Pennsylvania, Stockholm and even Hawaii! I probably purge my closets every three months or so. I also have a rule...for every 2 pieces of clothing I bring home, at least 1 thing from my closet must go back to a second hand shop/Goodwill...it keeps the closets under control! Also, clothing swaps are a must! Do one with your friends! So much fun!
Oh you are finally doing this! I been wanting this for a very long time! Awesome!
Small Town USA really needs these types of stores!
Great advice Trinny and reminding us that by buying in a charity shop is giving money to a deserving cause.
Great episode, nice to see second hand shopping being recommended. Can grab some real finds there, and it’s better for the planet.
Loved this video Trinny! I'm a big fan of second hand in recent years and have found some gems! It always feels so much more satisfying finding a great pre-loved find, kind of like a treasure hunt! Super video. Would love to see more like this 💛
One thing to take into account in charity shops is sizing from brand to brand and the piece itself. Make sure you don't look at just ur sizing, but go up or down a size or two. I found this amazing gray wool blazer and I knew the reason it was in the shop is that it shrank one full size from drying cleaning. Though it was marked a UK size 12 it fit a size 10 perfectly and there was nothing else wrong with it. I love a second hand stores, especially for limited edition items, collabs, or items only available for a single season. If u become a regular and tell the staff what u are looking for, if permitted, they will hold pieces for you when they come in.
Lastly, all pieces from charity shop or new from a store, should be laundered or dry cleaned before wear. I once laundered a brand new designer piece according to the label, and the knit developed multiple holes after a single washing and I was able to return it as defective.
I recently bought a dress for a wedding I'm going to this Saturday - £5 from Cancer Research. Not designer but looks expensive so win-win. I find it hard to shop in regular shops now that I've been thrifting for the last few months. I found a Paul Smith dress for a fiver and a fab leather jacket, brand new with tags for £15. Posh little market towns are treasure troves of bargains (lots of ladies who lunch!)
Are you able to give a couple of examples of the sorts of areas? I’m coming to London for a week soon but not sure where to start!
My God they Must have been over the moon with your stash of clothes you give them.
Oh Trinny , thank you for making this video !! I love second hand shopping, treasure hunting is just so fun. And I’m so jealous of how close relationship you and your daughter have, it’s so precious.
Please do more second hand thrifting videos. Love it 🥰
I love Trinny's lovely white dress!
Where is it from? Anyone knows?
We call it La Croix Rouge!! We’ve been charity shopping for years as it’s so unexpected and fun!
The hat is absolutely gorgeous!
The shops you visited are some of my favourite: I feel a Sunday drive to Kings Road coming on!
Love it what a fab episode! Such good choices, enjoyed it v much ❤️
Love secondhand trinny, fantastic chance to try new styles be braver. Would love a takeover secondhand!
It was good to see you do a shop up again I miss those videos and this is a first thrift one I've seen you do AWESOME
That was fun!!
Love this video. Have purchased two Chanel bags second hand which are my favorites, with a local Chanel store to authenticate the purchases. Also purchased a original Gucci that is a WOW for a fraction of the price. The hunting in these stores are half the fun.
This was so much fun!
I now but most things from charity shops, eBay and Vinted. You get great things and I feel like I’m being more sustainable. Loved this video.
PS: I saw a tiny moth come out of one of my cupboards - eek! 🙀
Omg! Trinny that dress 👗 is so retro and fab and summer! 😎❤️
Most of my wardrobe is second hand designer!
Me too. 99%
Me too. I have been second hand shopping for nearly 30 years 😊
I’ve been thrift-shopping for more than 50 years and almost never buy new except for underwear and shoes (my weak spot!). Found so many treasures in designer handbags, shoes and great clothing. I also furnished my house from thrift stores and country auctions, teaching myself refinishing, reupholstering and making slip covers etc. The selection is not as good these days, but I did find a Loewe handbag a year or two ago. The thrill of the hunt! Love Trinny ( and sweet daughter).
I really love the UK charity shops. Found many treasures there. Thanks for sharing this. It's good that people see that you can find some lovely stuff in there.
Love se one hand shop please continue doing it from time to time. I adore when Lila is in the episode.
This was insightful Trinny x
Could watch you thrift shop for weeks straight! Absolutely loved this x
This was fun. Hope u do it more often
This was great!🙌Can I just say to Lylas defence, you can get moths in ever so cleaned homes and without buying secondhand. They get in through open Windows and if having for instance a mat inside yr home (mat are things we do not clean every week) they can get into it. Also if humid homes, they get in. Also, just by trying those things at the second hand shop you could get some on you to bring home.. Personally I think the main reason we see more moths these days are the new generation are brainwashed we shouldn't clean clothes too often as for climate reason, still, if we do not want our homes eaten up by bugs, we need to clean our clothes when needed. It's just bs what they say, some material "clean themself", as when worn, fragments from skin, keratin and such gets on clothes, and moths loves these things.
I think a lot of people do not know how to do laundry and take care of their clothes which is why manufacturers put dry clean only on fabrics that are completely washable, then they’re covered . I thrift only cashmere sweaters and I wash them in cold water and Woolite on gentle or hand wash setting and dry flat as soon as I bring them in the house and have never had a moth issue. I have had moth damage if something gets put away for the season and it didn’t get washed first. I’m old enough to remember my mom putting the winter coats and woolens away in moth balls and hanging them on the clothes line in the sun to air out on a breezy day before we would wear them. There wasn’t a moth hole in sight!😂
This sounds like a mix of Karen and Boomer. "The new generation are brainwashed into not washing every article of clothing after one use for environmental reasons, so now there are moths everywhere." I'm sorry, what?
Great video, i actually want to go thrifting this weekend...the white dress in second shop and the rainbow dress are like🤯 ❤❤❤❤🤯
Love, love, love this idea, Trinny.
I love that pearl bag.... Inspired!
Loving this kind of videos😘🤩please do this more often❤️❤️
I actually like the last dress best!

I own the Celine bag - in that color- and I love it so much!
I love thrifting‼️💯 thanks for this video 👌👌
Love that coat, the hat you bought and the rainbow dress.
The other huge difference between stores in expensive parts of town and everywhere else is, obviously, the price. My local charity shop in southeast London turns up gems less often, but when they do, it’s a lot more affordable. A Sonia Rykiel velvet jacket for £5! Pristine Escada trousers yesterday for £7.50. And some cracking Zara snakeskin trousers for £6. The highly accessible prices make them well worth a rummage. 90% of my clothes these days are 2nd hand and I love the buzz of finding a true bargain. (The best ever, if pricier: a thrilling asymmetric black YSL evening coat for £100. Lord!!)
Please do more videos on secondhand - it would be cool to compare classic “vintage” stores (i.e. less label-based but where you might find treasures from past decades), charity shops in different areas and other boutique 2nd hand shops.
2nd hand shops in different countries would also be a really cool video!
More of these videos please ,love your dress trinny .
8:50 LOVE the coat!
I very often buy second hand clothing on Ebay.
But i do have enough clothes now for the coming 130 years.
I've shopped in charity shops since I was in Sixth Form. For the past 15 years I have shopped almost exclusively at charity shops (the exceptions being undies and socks, serious waterproof jackets - I live in the Lake District - and technical shoes such as those for fell running or climbing) I don't really do it for budgetry reasons, though at the moment that is a consideration. I do it because there is enough clothes already out there in the world, so there is no need for new things to be constanty made and marketed; it helps a good cause; I find charity shops far calmer and nicer/friendlier than high street chains; as well as high st chain shop stuff you can also find boutique clothes and even (rarely!) designer stuff; and finally... who doesn't love a bargain?! My best find was the pink LK Bennet dress worn by Kate Middleton at a polo match in 2019 for the grand sum of £6 (not the actual one, obvs...).
And that brings me to the cost of the two charity shops Trinny vistited in London - I mean... wow! Around here most things are £4-6 for a basic top or bottom, whatever it's provenance. Perfectly new stuff, donated by the producer, eg Boden, fetches £15-20 depending on what it is. Shoes range from £5-10 ( I have some beautiful, butter soft Italian leather boots which cost £7 - they cost more toget heeled!). Whilst I understand that charities should make as much profit as they are able, and that London is a more expensive place, the prices in the two charity shops Trinny visited are way more than I would - or could - spend new. I am very glad to live where I live!
Fun episode. Looking great Trinny. 🥰
I really love second hand. I live abroad where they import end of season sales items from stores that dont sell lile Nordstrom, Ann Taylor etc in the USA...I buy many Ralph Lauren pieces this way and Ann Taylor and other nice but not designer items . Even more fun is that they import charity shop clearouts and those sometimes ARE designer items. My wardrobe is 80% these items now and they are SO affordable.
Lovely! hugs from Ukraine xxx
Great material 😍
Very interesting. Wish I had some quality 2nd hand stores near me....I would look for belts, scarves and bags.
The most adorable mother and daugher!🧡💜👚👜👗👠👑👏👏👍👍
Nice to see a thrift shop haul yet I was a little distracted 🫣
This was so much fun.
Though the shop says thrifted but all brand new with tags are there. I want to visit a shop like this 😻🖤
Lyla I love the bright long multi striped dress you shook your head at😁 did she get it?☺️ You're such a sweetie! This was fun Trinny and I like that hat too!✨
Agreed most of my belts are from the thrift store. Reallly I go for shorts or t shirts scarves but my local goodwill just closed. Since Covid noticing less donations yet I’m donating more lol. Well it just means I take forever to shop. Now. I like this channel it’s upbeat and she also doesn’t look her age but dresses like it which is odd, in my 30s I dressed more mature now I’m doing girly cottage core looks in my 40s but beware probably can’t pull them off in my 50s so I did overspend on this cottage core hippie trend , I usually buy timeless hippie inspired things from brands on sale but gorgeous craftsmanship that I hope when I’m older I can sell off and try dressing my age more as I age but right now personally maybe I’m going though a 40s crisis and buying flowing hippie gowns they stopped wearing when I was born. Idk what exactly I’m doing anymore so I watch this and I think oh my Lord I’ve invested thousands in hippie clothes and I’ll look like an aging hippie soon when I wasn’t even born during the summer of love. So maybe can you find a hippie to makeover lol ? Please. Ty
Awesome ty Trinny! 🥰👍🏽
Lyla is a absolute credit too you Trinny lovely kind girl
I'm a bit funny about buying second-hand shoes because of not knowing what kind of fungi it could be hosting!!
I love Trinny
Thanks for the moth tip
Trinity and fellow op shoppers. Every item of clothing I buy from the op shop goes straight into my freezer for a whole weekend as the freezing kills any eggs or lave, just pop your item in a plastic bag.🐨🦘🇦🇺
I miss thé uk charity shops!! In France, hardly any and not good at all. Xx
J’adore 👍🏻😍😘
Thanks Trinny team. I only just wished you went to a thrift store to find really great bargains with down to earth prices. At these times with lockdowns and increasing costs to just live higher priced second hand shops are too much for many and they are targeting people with money to burn.. What about under $5 and not over $10 items for the best you can find at at the best priced op shop you can find. I would love that!
I wish you’d kept that navy cape
Yay, more second hand shopping and less Zara fast fashion please
This is like the film Pretty Woman unseen footage .
love this
Excellent
Please do a Zara shop up- we miss you!!! Or any shop up!!! I always buy after your videos!!!
I love the dress you're wearing! I wondered what brand is it?
Yeah!
Curious where your sunglasses from. Love the colour and shape of it.
fun ❤
Does anyone know the make of the long coat at 8 minutes 37? I love it so much!
I haven’t had much luck with second hand. Everything is picked over by the resellers who work at thrift shops so they get first pick. It’s all cheap polyester tops and acrylic sweaters that I wouldn’t have bought new. Plus, I’m a size large, there isn’t as much in this size.
Do we know which oxfam this is in london
Trinny! Where are your gorgeous sunglasses from???? ♥️♥️♥️
Thank for charring love trinny Wowwwww woman beautiful videos beautiful look shopping haul are you lovely woman trinny 🤣😘😘😘❤❤❤👠💄👜👗👖
