Mark Champkins is a legend, an honest to God legend. He was complemented on standing his ground, which is fine as far as it goes, however, I think it's how he did so that is truly remarkable. Case in point is when Mark tells Duncan "Just cut to the chase." (6:30) He's completely caught off guard by this, and for about three seconds it looks like his brain is struggling to understand what just happened. And I think that part of the magic is Mark 's use of tone. Duncan expresses his amazement at people paying £7 for that product, Mark thanks him. Duncan 'jokes' about mad drunk people buying things. Mark laughs and says "God!" But then, before Duncan can continue, Mark practically commands him to cut to the chase. And all of this is done using the same tone of voice, which will usually cause a brain to experience momentary confusion, as it attempts to resolve the fact that the tone and the words do not match. The physical reactions I also find fascinating. After Duncan finally says "I'm out", he breaks eye contact, looking down to his right, which can be an indication of surrender. Mark continues to stare at him for a moment, possibly confirming this victory, then there is a momentary smile, verging on being a micro-expression, after which Mark finally moves on. Whether intentional or simply natural, it's a truly impressive performance.

yep, i think he was great, and he took on bargaining with Peter (who was the last dragon standing so he was risking losing everything) on the amount of equity - don't see that kind of haggling too often in the den.
Baldist!
He did, and it beats being genuinely creepy, if a little nice looking, so he's got that going for him.
I feel bad about all the people making fun of his appearance, when he clearly has alopecia
@@robmckennie4203 Exactly.
Some say this is Callum’s corner before the fame
*callum is way more attractive and appealing than this weirdo!*
Gollum maybe hehe
But he's actually a very likeable character, even if comes across as a little bit out of control.
'This next pitch is from an inhabitant from Mars'
01:40 Well done to the editor, I laughed so hard at this!!!
that was the most enjoyable Den show yet! Well done guys.
Well done Mark for standing your ground with Peter. Hope your products sell well.
08:58 Sneakily offering 30 to Peter had me crying, what a legend guy.
"I bring you love"
Uncle Fester is so proud
I really liked it when Duncan was insulting him, and the guy politely told him to STFU and get it over with lol
His outward graces are minimal but his academic pedigree is impeccable and his demeanor and attitude are great. Peter Jones is a greedy goblin with his40#!
Get the feeling this is the first AI robot in the den
Unfortunately this company is now liquidated, Concentrate Designs Ltd. Never even came close to it's predicted turnover.
Concentrate designs has been liquidated. Pun not intended?
@@theSafetyCar Whats "pun not intended" suppose to mean ?
@@banglaline3859 you made a pun that was not intentional.
Sad to see people going after his looks. He presents well and had a good range of products. Got good feedback that he could use to make adjustments and make money.
I like the idea of his product, he just needs to make them more colorful
lol @ 10:43, he missed the stairs.
Human: takes a sip of water
Peter: WTF!?!??!
favourite person ive ever seen on this show this guy, love his attitude
1:41 Duncan 🤣🤣🤣
And 6:22 😂😂😂
"Just 2% of dehydration can take 20% of your concentration away"
Cuts to Duncan inspecting suspiciously the glass before drinking 😂😂
- Good stuff. I think you are a body language expert.
@@abidabokhari6214 Thanks mate! Appreciate you for taking the time to leave such a nice comment. Glad to know that you got enjoyment out of reading what I wrote. A very Happy New Year to you and all your loved ones.
He is walking away less equity yes, but also the best dragon in the whole bunch. Anytime Peter gets a deal, I root for them all day!
When he put his finger in his mouth at 4:57 if I was a dragon, I'd be thinking "Okay, if I invest, I'll have to shake the hand with the spitty finger and for that reason, I'm out!"
whereas I would be thinking: "what if he chewed on that finger prior to coming into the den and handing us over his bottles of water?"
Not very hygienic, but hey, this was way before the corona malarkey :)
I love how Duncan starts drinking when he hears about losing concentration
6:31 Not sure about the water bottles, but he'd make a superb Count Dracula for Hammer House of horror... all he needs are the fangs ! ...
Nah NOSFERATU more like
