There are actually several federal law enforcement agencies, each charged with enforcing different federal laws. The FBI handles political corruption, kidnapping and a sundry list of others. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tabacco, Firearms and Explosives...well...that is fairly self-explanatory. The Secret Service handles counterfeiting (as well as protecting the president) and they are now part of the Department of Homeland Security. Other law enforcement agencies within DHS are the Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Federal Protective Service. If two or more agencies are involved, a lead agency will be assigned by the White House - though more often than not, it falls to the FBI.
There are also the US Marshals, the Drug Enforcement Agency and just about every federal department has their own police (such as the Capitol Police to protect Congress) or investigators to deal with the mission of that agency.
On the state level, there is usually just the state police. Counties have elected sheriffs and their deputies. Cities and larger towns usually have police departments. Often, you will find that even universities and colleges have their own police forces which may or may not be sworn certified police officers with the power to enforce laws in that state. In addition, there are state game and fish enforcement, environmental enforcement and probably a few I haven't covered.
There is no shortage of law enforcement officers in America. Many of them have overlapping duties. Plus there may be several private agencies involved in security and quasi-law enforcement matters.

8:56 "The murder rate per capita in the US is still 30 times higher than in the UK"
There's a lot of misinformation in this video, but this is one of the most egregious.
Murder rate, US, 2020: 7.8 per 100,000 (this is a HUGE increase from just a few years ago; it was 4.44 in 2014 and 4.96 in 2018).
Murder rate, UK, 2020: 1.0 per 100,000 (a significant drop; it was 1.2 in 2018)
    Obviously, 7.8 / 1.0 is not 30.

Technically the “national police force” is the FBI. Also, it’s a bit more complicated than just states having their own police forces. Each county in America has its own police force, and most cities have their own separate police forces. There is also the Army National Guard which acts like “State Police Special Forces”. They are usually used to quell large riots and other types of mass civil unrest.

The entire US Coast Guard is technically a Law Enforcement of the US Department of Transportation and Homeland Security with global authority . There are the US Marshalls , Secret Security , and US Postal Police under Federal authority . I was in the US Navy for ten years . Two of those years I was a US Navy Military Policeman stationed in Japan . Under the SOFA ( Status Of Forces Agreement) with Japan I had limited authority to detain and question Japanese citizens when necessary . Something I've always been amused about with the Coast Guard; they're the only agency outside of the Department of Defense that uses the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) as a 'disciplinary tool' (I imagine since they would have a need to make mutiny punishable).

The bar called the police to kick everyone out. As soon as the police arrived, everyone there started cursing/yelling at the cops. I was legit scared for my life lol, thinking the cops would start beating the shit out of people like here in the US. American Public Schools K-12 don't usually have a police force Per Se , but many have a local police officer on campus . Daniel Boone was one such example as was Judge Roy Bean in Texas. US Marshalls began in 1789 and helped in areas where there was no local Sheriff. Texas Rangers started in 1823. Pinkerton Agency, a private, non-governmental group started in 1850. Other states started their own units like the Arizona Rangers in 1901. Now most states have police on the state, county, township, and city levels, either three or four levels. The national level is mostly covered by the FBI, ATF. DEA. Immigration, and US Marshall while all US Departments (including Agriculture) have their own police and SWAT units. Selling illegal, unpasteurized bad milk? Yes, the USDA cops will be a callin' on you. Stealing mail? Yes, the Postal Office has cops with guns and badges too.

Nothing like the objectivity or occasional smart-arse I’ve had in the US. The US doesn't have a "national" police force. There are several federal law enforcement agencies like the US Marshalls, Postal Inspectors, FBI, etc...but they primarily focus on federal crime.
Each of the 50 US states has it's own State Police force. This is where it gets confusing for many people. The State Police forces can perform many duties...from protecting high-ranking political officals, patrolling state highways, investigating state crimes, etc. But, in areas that are more rural...some State Police agencies act as the local police because the area is too small to have its own local police.
Then, most states have a County-level force. This is "usually" called the County Sheriff. In many places, the County Sheriff's department deals with prisons, executing warrants, transporting prisoners...but (more confusingly) sometimes the County Sheriff will also act as the local police. Many counties also have their own County Prosecutor, and they act as an investigative police force, and will handle more serious crimes like murder, kidnapping, fraud, and political crime.
Finally, you have local or township police departments. These are the police that patrol only within their own towns. They do traffic enforcement, investigate smaller crimes, answer disturbance calls, and handle general police work.

Some counties also have elected sheriffs and their departments, although they tend to cover more rural areas where the towns don't actually have their own police force (but that is not exclusively the case -- in NJ, we have municipal police, county sheriff depts, and state police on top of it). We don't have a national police force (by design -- it was deemed a threat to liberty and an opportunity for abuse), but we do have things like it such as the FBI, the US Marshals, and the Secret Service -- however, they have limited roles.

The closest the U.S.A. has come to a National Police Force is the Department of Homeland Security. Before that it was the FBI which is the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which after about its first 10 years of existence was allowed to carry side arms for self protection and even shotguns and tommy guns in their vehicles so that they could "defend themselves" as they closed in on their criminal gangs who were taking advantage of the limitations of other law enforcement agencies by jumping from county to count or state to state. The FBI would turn over their findings (evidence) to the local Federal (or sometimes state) district attorney to bring charges in Federal (or state) Court which would hopefully result in a nice, long sentence in a Federal (or state) prison.

US police forces as usually run by each city. In some states, police forces are county wide organizations. Each state will also have a statewide police force, that patrols highways, and investigates major crimes, runs state crime labs, and investigates crime by local and county governments. Each state has slightly different rules.
In Texas for example, each county has elected sheriffs and deputies that patrol unincorporated areas, Each county may also have constables and deputies, that have slightly different policing duties. Texas also allows ANY taxing jurisdiction to maintain its own police department. This can include cities, school districts, colleges, water districts and metropolitan transportation districts. For the Houston, Texas metropolitan area, there are 83 Police Departments in Harris County, Texas alone, serving a population of 4,525,519 people in an area of 1,705 square miles. This doesn't include the other four surrounding counties, that are usually included as part of the Houston Metro/Suburban Area.
The federal government also has several specialized law enforcement services, that all have different portfolios. The FBI is the major federal enforcer of laws, but there are also the DEA, ATF, ICE, Homeland Security, military criminal investigation services, etc. Almost every major government agency or branch of government, has its own law enforcement officers (US Marshalls, Capital Police, Secret Service, Bureau of Land Management, etc.) 65 agencies in all.

You said that each state in the U.S. has a police force, and asked whether there's a national police force. Actually, every city and town has its own police force, and there are many other types of police as well. Where I live (San Francisco Bay Area), there are the following types of police:
    - City police (there are over 100 cities in the Bay Area)
    - Highway patrol (they're a statewide force responsible for law enforcement on the state highways)
    - Sheriffs (they handle law enforcement in areas outside of city limits, and also run the local jails, provide bailiffs for courts, and transport prisoners)
    - University police (each state university campus has its own police force)
    - BART police (BART is Bay Area Rapid Transit, the local commuter rail system. They need their own police because the BART system goes between cities, so no one city police force can do it)
    - Park police. Some park systems, like the East Bay Regional Park System, have their own police forces.
    - Probably some more that I've forgotten
At the national level we have:
    - The FBI, which does general enforcement of federal law and assists local law enforcement in some cases like kidnapping
    - The Secret Service, which protects people like the president and vice president, and also enforces the laws against counterfeiting
    - U.S. Park Police
    - U.S. Customs and Border Protection
    - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives
    - The D.E.A. (Drug Enforcement Administration)
    - The Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations Division
    - The U.S. Marshal Service (they protect federal judges, juries, witnesses, etc.)
    - A whole bunch of other police agencies.
