ah you may want to pick up the GD-108 decal set if you're ok with waterslides. It's basically for Z and ZZ HG and Re/100 kits. There are two Hyaku characters for your Hyaku Shiki, and there even are two Flying Dragon kanjis for the Bawoo if you're into that.
I've never been very much interested into gold plated Gundams, but this one looks stellar. And the way you film and picture makes this kit look even better. Thanks !
I am a simple man, I see citrus video with his soothing voice, my ears click like. He da bob ross of gunpla (i wish this video was longer, consequently)
That depends on how old the dry transfer is and it's applied. The excess adhesive is also safe to remove without damaging the chrome. If anything, the waterslide will leave a more apparent edge.
The p-bandai HGUC Mega Bazooka Launcher comes with water slide decals that include two of the shoulder kanji for the Hyaku Shiki. The kits that include the old HGUC Hyaku Shiki come with dry transfer decals for the kanji such as the Hyaku Shiki plus Mega Bazooka Launcher set. Bandai's really cheap with how they downgraded the dry transfers to stickers for their revive kit.
It looks awesome but I kinda like the curry's blue better. That gold chrome makes me want to paint mine gold chrome. It's not hard but I don't think I want to deal with fingerprints, I am glad that you pointed that out. I actually don't mind that my paint on my truck isn't shiny because it's a pain to keep it looking good on a shiny surface. I loved the look of my black car I used to have but after a week and 1 rain fall, I hated the water mark's and swirl marks from waxing was a pain to get that mirror finish. I am so glad that I traded it for the truck I have now. Curry Skiki, your probably going to be my only Hyaku Shiki because shiny Shiki is high maintenance. Lol.
Honestly for the gold on the Hyaku Shiki the chrome gold isn’t exactly my favorite and the gold on the regular release is very meh. I think the gold on the revive Hyaku Shiki should’ve been a bit more like the MG Hyaku Shiki Ver 2.0. For me it’s Shiny enough to have some kind of shelf presence but also less likely to leave visible smudges on
Special edition kits should treated cherishedly. I do agree about the oil based paint which would ruin the coating entirely. I would recommend a water based semi-glossed finished. While noticing the polymer colors of shiny pieces, both the shiny coat and the plastic will blend together making it hard to tell the blemishes of the sanded down nub marks. To do this while I would a long but not more than a week since only on finish should be applied is to stick this on wooden dowels then apply the glossy the gold pieces before assembling them all together, assemble (Be sure to use your gloves) and the model is complete. This method will only apply to any metallic coating kits of any grade including the MG Hyaku Shiki and the HGUC Unicorn MSV Delta Gundam.
I picked up a curry model. This would really be nice to have, it's beautiful. I colored in all inside vents with a metallic blue marker to simulate the thrusters and panel lined the power cables with a metallic silver marker. Got the gun and bazooka with a metallic gold and blue. Looks great. I will def consider getting the chrome version in the future but it may come down to a toss up between that and the MG 2.0
what would you do to that kit? I mean, are you gonna put a clear coat on that? will it be a gloss or matte finish? *notice me please I really wanna know*
2:50 "This is almost blinding to look at in person." Well, you could tone back on your lights and compensate by using a light-colored background. A simple sheet of paper over the black wall should more than suffice.
IMO, kinda of a weird choice of Bandai too do they're generic Gold Brick plating for this when they got the proper Hyaku Shiki gold down so well with the MG, like that pale gold would of looked pretty great.
I kinda did the same - I patiently waited for the gold-coated version (or a RG)... and then I didn't buy it, because oof, that price, plus shipping, plus proxy fees. (Though I *did* buy the Robot Damashii version in the meantime.) Thanks for the last year's N-Y sale, I guess. And it was still a lot less waiting than the whole Sinanju Stein bullshit. (And I won't be surprised if they announce the RG version pretty soon. It be like that sometimes... Though if it will be like RG Sinanju, it'll be skippable - not that RG Sinanju is bad, it's just that HG is so good that I don't feel forced to upgrade to RG, especially since so far there's no Titanium Finish version.) What pisses me off is that they clearly planned to do this from the start, what with the undergates and everything - why not make it a regular release, then? The old HGUC Hyaku was a regular release! And just what were they thinking with those stickers!? Even the old kit had dry decals! But yeah, the looks are still worth it. Makes the regular one look like a bathtub toy. I think I prefer the old one's colder shade of gold, though. Thanks for posting the review on MFC, I would most likely never see it otherwise!
Thanks! Eventually I'll get all of my videos linked there. I think this kit was made a TGB exclusive because the Delta Plus didn't sell very well. It was around the same price, and lots of shops ended up discounting it pretty heavily to move stock. As for the RG Sinanju, I'm in the same boat. Until the Titantium Finish comes out, I'm happy with my HG. (Funny how much quicker the Titanium Finish RG Sazabi came out...)
Oh yeah, if they make titanium Sazabi, I'll have to finally buy it. Yeah, I remember Delta. Funny thing is that one felt like it *should* have been a P-Bandai... but it wasn't. Meanwhile, a vastly improved remake of the most iconic gold MS is an exclusive. Typical Bandai logic. (And yeah, of course I got my Delta on a sale.)
I was thinking about what to do with nubs on gold coating and clear kits. I’m sure you can’t sand the gold but maybe u can the clear. I really want some kits like that but nubs drive me crazy I wona figure out how to fix em

is it really worth 80$ on amazon? If I was deciding a price for this kit, I would have the kit be around 40$ Although, for the legs, the near bottom kinda feels unfinished because there's no armor covering the grey part. I would have actually liked this kit has gundam look to it with the face armor and the red chin. My honest answer for this kit is that it looks decent. If only the sticker for the Hyaku Shiki Revive (gold coating) was a water slide.
I wish you would practice pronouncing the store name, "Mandarake". It's pronounced "Man-dara-keh", not Man-drake. I am Japanese and it makes me feel you don't give a shit about Japanese names, as much as you love gundams. But I still love watching your videos.
Worse part here ypu never told that using gunpla thinner would make the gold coated damage and never explain how you remove the excess marker from shoulder. A very dissapointed review. :[]....
@@citrusjuicebox Yes that's should be told in you're video since not everyone can have a gold coated gundam bro. and what tricks or tips to be done when using gm marker to gold coated. The easiest way to get better decals would be to buy the old original HG Hyaku Shiki, cause that one has dry transfer decals at least.
Not really since dry transfers also have some excess clear matte material, so they would look just as bad.
Moral of the story, waterslides are life.
That depends on how old the dry transfer is and it's applied. The excess adhesive is also safe to remove without damaging the chrome. If anything, the waterslide will leave a more apparent edge.
The dry decal on my old HG Hyaku looks great - there's no edges since it's literally a bit of dye rubbed onto the chrome.
And you shall ride eternal, shiny and chrome.
Citrus voice x gunpla is the best thing after a day of work!
You can get the Hyaku Shiki hg waterslides from the MSG Zeta Gundam/ZZ Multiuse Gundam Decal set
One of the best reviewers, I thoroughly enjoyed this... lots of edits, great presentation.... oh and the model is cool too :)

Your channel deserves more viewers, keep up the great work.
The chromed finish looks outstanding, while I still prefer the matte gold coating on the MG 2.0 it's still nice to appriciate yours.
same here i prefer matte finish over shiny-gloss dunno why
Yea this kit is it right here, its on my short list of HG purchases

I saw this at the Gundam Base last month when I went to Japan last year. I opted for the Zeta Amuro Ray colours instead.
I just got a HYAKU-SHIKI not long a go and had the same problems with the poly caps. I could barely get them into the ankles
This was very informative. I like how your do you videos!
And here we are later.
Another Hyaku-Shiki special color release!
Oh very nice!
Really cool citrus
@citrus The metallic sharpies have a red that looks exactly like that red.
That is one shiny mobile suit!
Hmm, looks like I’ll be sticking with the regular version then just paint….
Or wait for an RG, I guess? But it better be the same gold as the MG 2.0.
I'd be down for an RG. Matte gold would look great with the usual RG decals too!
ahhh i really hope they'll make an RG hyaku shiki
Why didn't they mold it like the master grade?
That type of coating looked great
Ikr it's not like this is anime accurate either. Hell, the standard gold injection is the closest to the anime out of the MG paint or HG chrome

What do you think of the mechanicore kits
Too intense for me.
Is it okay to topcoat a factory chrome/gold finish like this in matte clear? Or you may ruin the finish? Just curious.
It wouldn't be shiny anymore, but I don't know what it would look like.
Are you saying the paint is made by chrome + clear yellow?
Seems like it.
Just because I'm curious, have you built the mg hyaku shiki 2.0?
Not yet, but it's on the list.
Beautiful!
Are you gonna review the MG impulse blanche?
Probably not. Planning on selling it, actually.
How long did you take to build this?
It took me around 3 hours.
Sounds about right, but I am super slow.
great video. Subscribed!
What did you use to clean up the red marker? Is alcohol okay?
I didn't do any clean-up. I tested on a runner, and too much alcohol will take off the yellow coloring over the silver chrome plating.
