    So nice to see you again! I'll bet RUclips has some videos about how to use the hay nets. If you get a chance, check it out. Also nice to see a lot of the animals again. They look like they are wintering well so far. Getting excited for calving season. Say Hi to Jeff!

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Wishing you and your family the best.
    Have to think the cows are saying, she takes the net wrap off then puts it back on again. Humans, who knows what they are thinking 🤔.

    Can you imagine Noah sending animals off the ark 😊. “No you can’t come back in go outside and try it, it’s beautiful “, “give it a chance it suppose to feel that way and yes that is the way fresh air smells, keep going.”😊

    I can’t believe that you do not have more snow there in Wyoming. Here in Little Rock, AR we just had 10” of snow and a very wet snow at that! I’m sure that your snows are a much drier snow that we just received. BTW….how is Bean doing?

    Are you sure that isn't closer to a 6 foot roll? My experience with 5' rolls is with them being 4' when measured from flat side to flat side. I personally love Hay Chix nets the best. It will be interesting to see how it does with the goats, I've only used nets with horses.

    Beautiful blue skies there.
    I think conserving hay through use of a net or something else is a good idea. A lot of waste of hay happens.

      She has mentioned it before that is is part of the Harvest Host experience in such that when there is a tour of the ranch these gateway critters cause interest in ranching and farming. It allows people to connect to things generally one doesn't in normal day to day city life....Plus she likes them!

      It doesn't taste like hay? Lol! I use one for my horses, and they just work on pulling the hay through the holes. I don't have goats, so it will be interesting to see how the nets holds up with the smaller animals.

    Conversing hay? For a while there, I thought I was going to be eavesdropping on an intimate conversation between you and a round bale. Oh…OH: you meant CONSERVING! Well, that puts a different slant on things…😂

    A little squirrely? Did I just hear you use the word squirrely Erin lol? Is going to be interesting to follow along with your second generation net wrapping experiment too. How many inches above the ground will the bottom of the net wrap end up so the animals have good food access while minimizing bale waste? Nice to hear that you and your children have had a very enjoyable Holiday Season, as you stand out in the cold as you close out this video! Stay Warm and Be Safe always! -Bob...

    Those hay nets are super annoying, I don’t think the companies actually know how to size for hay bales. Bought one for 4x5 bales and it didn’t fit even when it was eaten down to a 4x4 bale.

    Why do you put bales on end. We were always told to lay then on side for water run off. Helps prevent moldy hay. My round bale lasts about 10-14 days.😊

    • @mocattledog
      @mocattledog 16 дней назад

      It looks like she stores them on their sides. I've always fed my round bales on end. I'm sure it's just personal preference. There isn't much moisture in Wyoming. I'm sure she doesn't have to worry about mold.

    • @mocattledog
      @mocattledog 15 дней назад

      @Navet63 I remember her saying in a video that she had a decent amount of pork in the freezers still. She wasn't going to get more pigs until she got some o if it sold. Erin also mentioned that it's harder to have pigs in the colder months because they eat so much more feed trying to stay warm.
