I am really sad to say this but the paint on the rock was the most bad thing I saw in painting rocks... the rock is a goid rock to paint... you put the ink well... but when you start to spread the ink... that's the big mistake... always use the litlle brushes... if you have different colours, you can uso more than one brush... there are marks of amout of ink in the stone... which is not good for the ink to dry... other think very important... when you are drawing with black ink over a layer of a coulour ink... first, let dry very well... you should use something under your wrist to draw in a higher position... it's a lot easier and no problems with touching the first layer of ink, in this case, the colourfull layer.
Now, your nails... working with nails like that there's no problem... but probably you will destroy the nail ink with the acrylic ink... that's a waist of money... so try to draw with clinical gloves!
I really can't draw or paint with gloves... but a lot of people I know do that, specially woman...
My teacher was my dad and mum... my dad is a designer, a painter and a sculptor...and an architect (however, he did nit finish the full degree so only can sign houses solo)... because of that, the dedicat hus life on drawing and with tech, a digital designer... is niw retired.
My mum was a chemical in a lab of a big factory that produced paint, resin and more... so, she made the paint in small caps, with the colours that I want and then I painted... of course than in two in two years, I help her to paint all our house, apartment the inside of course...and I ussully made the colour for my room, well, my and my sister room... we are two! Now, my daughter and my niece (daugter if my inly and dear sister) have their own design and painting... the inheritance from my dad pass to his grand-daughters... both are amazing designers and love to paint!😊
