Mch not having a raid buff seems wrong headed for how the role works. Do you think they would ever make wildfire a raidbuff? Would you want it to keep its can’t crit attribute if is got turned into a raidbuff?
Given the current state of the game, if WF were to be a buff then it'd have to be 20s and have its entire function changed, probably resulting in potency adjustment for the rest of MCH's kit which I imagine is probably more than the devs want to deal with. It just needs to be able to auto-crit and have its potency adjusted. Most simple solution. Boring? Yes, but that's the hole they've dug themselves.
Might as well asking this here: there often is no way of completely dodging skill speed on gear (especially rn and probably with week one crated gear) That being said MCH's Drill Stacks rn really screws with me seeing as its not influenced by Skillspeed... opposed to everything else. Feels super awkward to use if you even are the littlest bit faster than 2.5sec GcD as its recast automatically causes you to drift with the other tools... even on 2.47 GcD. Really messes the "precision clockwork" feel that i loved about MCH at the end of Endwalker up for me. Am i missing something? (Sure Ex2 is a bad example for that as its knock ups cause drift anyway)
You are not missing anything. Due to Drill no longer scaling with SkS, there will be times where you will roll your GCD (like a combo action) instead and hit Drill on the next one instead due to the misalignment. Your burst will change slightly with the combo action which can drop due to the length of the tool spam + double HC as well so take care with that. Thankfully Drill having 2 charges means you are not drifting it anymore at least, but on anything faster than 2.50 this is liable to happen as you've noticed. Thankfully we do have more freedom of rotation in general due to both Excavator and Full Metal Field remaining active in case you want to press it later (the former is necessary to facilitate correct battery usage during interims between 2 minute bursts so we have 100 each time for it), so generally SkS isn't too big of a deal but it will feel "off" compared to EW. We did use 2.47 during Abyssos specifically since that BiS allowed for max ilvl + an extra GCD in P5S and I think P7S(?) and full uptime required a filler GCD around the 6-minute mark to keep things aligned. It can have its advantages, we just prefer not to have to use a faster GCD. Either way though, just letting the charge roll over for a GCD is the way to deal with it until we can fix it with future gear (crafted, normal raid etc.). Clipping delays your entire rotation so it's not recommended to wait for the Drill to come up. Hope this helps!

I just hope PF "geniuses" don't lock out MCH this time...
