So I’ve read the first issue of Void Rivals and it’s so-so right now.
I haven’t read Transformers but I own the first 5 issues due to sheer luck last week.
The two GI Joe titles on the other hand I’ve read most of and they’re solidifying my love for this new take.
I also like that Skybound is limiting the number of titles so it doesn’t get too overwhelming.
It’s also funny to see both franchises return to image too

I’ve been interested in transformers for awhile but I never really got too into it. However recently I’ve started reading Daniel Warren Johnson’s transformers and I’ve been absolutely loving it.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on IDW’s run on both franchises along with Hasbro in general.
Been meaning to get into both but there’s SOOOO MUCH to read. Those IDW Collections help but still

I definitely want to talk about them but I’ll probably wait till Skybound rolls out some reprints for them. Right now the only ways to read them are remaining stock from stores and the unspoken ways

I feel like there may or may not be problems with them. Definitely with comics featuring Rom and other hasbro properties

I love that this universe has legitimately gotten me into G.I.Joe. Other than Renegades I’ve had an aggressive disinterest towards this franchise even ignoring its propaganda origins. Unfortunately for the Transformers comic I’ve hated most it. It feels like it takes the most popular aspects from the most popular iterations with a G1 coat of paint on it, while also not playing to the strengths of those iterations and what made them unique. The think I dislike the most about this series (not to the fault of the creators) is the reaction of the fans. Anybody who has any type of criticism is hounded by people who can’t accept a different opinion. Not to mention the people that take this as a chance to dunk on the IDW comics opening the way to spout their bigotry. That is more on the fault of the fans, so I don’t hold it against the series. Void Rivals surprised me, I really expected it to be a mid series that baits you with Tf characters. Overall, I’m excited for the future of this universe.

I’m glad these comics have gotten you into GI Joe!
It’s totally fair and valid to critique the Transformers comic! That’s the great part about art, we can compare and contrast our thoughts and feelings with it.
I do agree as well that the fandom has a problem with accepting differing opinions (might be why some of my TF videos don’t do well)
Void Rivals was a surprise for me as well. I wasn’t sure if I’d read it all the way but it hooked me
