I started maple 5 months ago and was on the verge of quitting because i have no idea about gear progression (f2p player not knowing anything about starforcing, cubing etc, and stucked with fensalir gear at level 200 with low range). This video single handedly got me back on track and i finally grinded my way to 5 set absolab gear. This video should definitely be on the official maplestory guide.

I restarted mapling at MSEA after 12yrs of inactivity, and found I am totally unfamiliar with the game mechanics(been playing Maplestory M for 4-5yrs, used to its simplicity). My 2 main char(Lv160+) have all AP and SP reset and I was stuck on how to obtain better eq n weap. I also started a new char playing Adele since it is voted the most popular class. Your video helped a lot in how to get equipmt and improve them as a beginner player.

I would like to add on and say that the setup at 19:10 tho might be optimal, one of the event rings can be swapped out for either a silver blossom ring or elegant ifia ring, doing this will allow you to recieve the 9 set boss effect which gives 10att, stats, and 10% boss damage, which is alot stronger than a single event ring.
CRA helm is actually end-game because ACS 6Set effect doesn't offer much compared to the 50WA from 3pcs Fafnir! Also if you manage to get Genesis Wep that Fafnir set becomes 4pc effect
At 140/150, u will unlock a quest [Sengoku2]. You will have to repeat the quest 3 times. But it is extremely worth it! You will get 1 Ring (Kanna Ring), 1 Belt (idk the name Belt) & 1 Shoulder (Hayato Shoulder). MSEA is very grindy, getting to kill Pink Bean will take you a while. The fight w/ Hilla at lv120 will be very long. The ifia accessory only drops from Hard Von Leon, which is lv150 but honestly unless you are funded, that will be a hard fight! Best of luck :)
All right I'm going to first say that I only have made it as far as Chu Chu Island for my entire 10+ years im Maplestory (A lot of retirement and return back and forth happened throughout the years) and the part about from Fensalir / Cygnus set to Fafnir is already a far-fetched idea as it is. Assuming you take the bossing route, If you were to farm mesos and buy it from the Auction house then it would be relatively a easy task to get the clean Fafnirs. After Fafnir though? I doubt everything will be going as smoothly as you put it here because at that point, it's pretty much un-soloable unless you have all those Legendary / Unique potenial lines that have at least 4 lines of either the Main Stats %, ATK %, Boss Damage or Ignore Defense %. Now I never have gotten or past through this Absolabs Equip Set since I have no idea how to even do it in the first place but to give you an idea, I play as a Level 210 DA and I believe I have a rather solid set of equipment on my end and even then, I cannot solo a single Chaos Root Abyss (CRA), not even the easiest (maybe) to handle, The Queen. Because my damage even though is in 1m+ range I still do jack shit for damage. (I can guess that it's got to do with my Maple Union though but even then I doubt it's just that.) So after Fafnir, It just becomes relatively obvious that you are going to need help for this. Hell, Forget the equipment and the basic stuff for a minute and this is really obvious if you are a experienced MMO player, RNG is in play that means. . . you might need already need the help sooner than you think. So what's my point? I actually don't know. I just figured I put my experience and thoughts into this is all. Either way, This is probably the only guide that is actually good for Maplesea if I ever see one and for that, I give you props and thanks for this. At least you are "saving" the game somehow. I think. Also how to farm Mesos? I find that if you were to play Demon Avenger (DA) first then make him / her strong enough, You can solo Normal Pink Bean or even Easy Cygnus if you have enough damage. After that? Not recommended to solo. Reason being is that DA does not rely on MP and only focus on HP. Hell, Even your attack power relies on HP so it's pretty straightforward and not as complicated as any others. It'll take some time to get DA up to speed but it's probably the most risk free option that you might stumble upon. Another would be selling EXP Potions because holy hell do they sell. If I am wrong in any places in this comment, Feel free to correct me.
I'm F2P and have only spent money on cosmetics. Already got my absolabs within my first month of playing. Just farm up your daily bosses/weeklies, sell everything you can for mesos and then buy lomien coins. It's going to take way too long if you really want to progress without trading with other people

16:15 I already bought these equips, I would like to ask should I get them 30% spell traced or 70%? As I know the cost between both of them are a big difference, I can afford to 9% pot them but traces cost a lot more Should I just rush for 70% traces or just wait and do 30%+css slowly? As a F2P in GMS regular server, I reached the point where I need abso equips. I can't kill cra bosses, normal cygnus, normal pap, czak, lotus/damien.. but can kill hellux easily. no clue what to do now, slowly farming cubes and trying to get good pots. But how did you get abso equips without help or carries from anybody?
What do you think about using CRA hat? Because 3 CRA sets will give you 50 ATT, 10% HP/MP. Going from 5 -> 6 Absolab sets will give you more 20 ATT + 20% HP/MP. Hence, you will lose 30 ATT but gain 10% HP/MP.
It seems I've mistaken something here, I was trying to say that I was using Chaos Bellum Hat which is a Lucky Item that can gain both set effect and with that hat I'm able to obtain 4 set effect of Fafnir and 5 set effect of Absolab if I remembered it right. But there's downside for Chaos Bellum Hat tho, as the maximum flame rate tier is only Tier 4.

Amazing, been so many years and this video is still relavant. I see you have touch on equips but I could not find guides on potential. How and when we should focus on potential? Is using Todd hammer or epic scroll better for start? When should we proceed from epic potential to unique/legendary? When should we focus on additional potential? Haha so many question, sorry.
I would suggest to get 2 lines main stat on your Epic potentials first then get Add Pot to at least 10WA/MA depending on your job. Then slowly work on weapon, sub weapon and emblem to unique and above.
Hello! I’m currently equipped with abso 17* U/E shoulder, cape, shoes and 17* L/E abso glove. Together with Cvel helm + fafnir top btm and fafnir weap. I’m also using 17* dom + ark pendant. But now I’m thinking of upgrading my armor to ACS but not sure if I should change my armor first before upgrading my accessories? I’m planning to upgrade my ark pend to Daybreak and one of my ring to Slime ring. Please advice whether I should focus on upgrading my daybreak and slime ring before ACS armor or ACS armor first. I can solo up to ndunkle boss.
Getting the Absolab equips have been quite the grind for me for months, until I joined a guild from a friend and they were willing to use their Absolab coins for 40 Diffusion Energy Cores for each equip.
@@dietrichahlers6125 Back then when I made this comment, the Diffusion cores and absolab gear are ALOT more expensive than now. You're *now* better off buying the gear or cores than grinding the coins for it. But grinding the cores are pretty decent meso when you're just starting out.

At roughly 16:30 you mentioned that the chaos vellum helm helps to get 2 set effect. But I thought it requires equipped sets to have at least 3 pieces?
Yes you need 3 pieces, but don't go for CVel hat if you are not playing Zero. Because Zero can scroll the weapon to CRA set so you just need top and bottom.
If i were to scroll my weapon/armor with spell tracer, which % do i go for? If i use a scroll that doesn't have a 100%, if it fails like 1-2 times, do i just re scroll on another equipment or use white scroll? I want to get a perfect scroll before cubing my weapon/armor
Range is not a good benchmark right now cos each classes have their own calculation and some classes have inflated range. So normally we benchmark using Mulung Dojo Floors. If you could clear 37-40 floor dojo you can solo all the Chaos Root Abyss and Hard Magbus bosses, and for 43-46 floor you can join in Normal Lucid runs, 45-47 for Normal Will runs and etc.
@@x3TheAran59 are the differences big enough to matter in this case? cus there arent any guides out there for maplesea that indicates the damage range required for each bosses. such as 1.5m for CRA.
tbh had this question for a while, I understand the progression path but say you starforced your fensalir items, then say you upgrade to a cygnus set, wouldn't you have wasted money on your fensalir set? curious as to what you guys do to prevent wasting resources on previous equips

You should aim for your main stat for example, Warrior = STR. As for additional potential the green text, aim for main stat and % All Stat. For potential on Emblem aim for ATK % or Ignored Enemies Def %. For Weapon/Sub Weapon aim for ATK % or Boss Damage %

Why use scarlet ring instead of Kanna ring ? I ask coz I accidentally throw away my Kanna ring , just asking whether can scarlet ring be a good alternative for Kanna ring .
Is the Fafnir plus Cvel helm for 30% more boss damage or cra hat plus abso weapon with higher base attack and flames and 10% more ignore def more worth it? Wonder which is a better trade off
Normally we will go for CRA Hat because of the better flames compared to CVEL and you'll swap out your CRA Hat to Abso Hat when you use a Arcane Weapon, that is to utilize the Abso set effect. For Zero CVEL Hat is the best cos their weapon can scroll to CRA set regardless of weapon type.
May I ask why not go for 5 set Absolabs (weapon/shoulder/shoes/cape/gloves) + 3 set Fafnir instead of 6 set abso+ 2 set Fafnir? Don't you lose like 30 MA/WA in favor of 10%HP/MP?
It depends, cos Abso equips give a lot of Flame stats compared to Fafnir and in the long run you'll be swapping out the Abso weapon to Arcaneshade, so having and Abso hat is a better option, but you can also go for Lucky Hat option (but with lesser flame stats but you get multiple set effect)

You do spell traces and star for fanir when the progress? You do 70% traces or 15% for weapon? I heard that u mention you able to do cra when you that item benchmark so I am curious. Well I try with my 2.5m range bow master the old time cra+absolab set epic pot with will trace and 17 star it still hard for me to solo c vellum
Yes I do Spell Trace and Star Force them to 17 Star. But I do it progressively, making each item 12 Star and 70% Spell Trace first then only slowly work on individual equip during Sunday Maple 50% Spell Trace discount / 30% Star Force discount and getting them to 17 Star and 30% (Other equip) and 15% (Weapon) Spell Trace. Also make use of event cubes to get at least your 3 main items - Weapon, Sub-weapon and Emblem to Unique, that will help a lot.

Hi Steve! Thanks for the great F2P guide. Can I ask if at lvl 200 onwards is it better to focus on the arcane force or your equipments? As I’m always running out of mesos due to upgrading my arcane force.
You'll have to focus on both, because Arcane Force will add 100 stat every Symbol level. Which will give a huge boost. Try to make use of Coin Shop events to get those event rings plus epic potentials scroll, flames & Star Force scrolls, so you can have more mesos for Arcane Symbols.

hey man, watched the video and im currently using a cvel helm for 9 piece boss and 5 piece abso. is replacing my cvel helm worth it? i'll be losing 9 piece boss but i'll be gaining the advantages of using abso hat instead of cvel hat. not sure if 9 piece boss is worth keeping the cvel helm for. advice appreciated!
Only swap out your Cvel hat when you swap your weapon to Arcaneshade. You can remain as it for now. Cos once you swap out your weapon you won't be able to get the CRA set effect, so that time swap the Hat for Abso.

You should get them 30% traced for equips and 15% traced for weapons. But do them during Fever Time or 50% Spell Trace Discounts.

At roughly 16:30 you mentioned that the chaos vellum helm helps to get 2 set effect. But I thought it requires equipped sets to have at least 3 pieces?
Yes you need 3 pieces, but don't go for CVel hat if you are not playing Zero. Because Zero can scroll the weapon to CRA set so you just need top and bottom.

If i were to scroll my weapon/armor with spell tracer, which % do i go for? If i use a scroll that doesn't have a 100%, if it fails like 1-2 times, do i just re scroll on another equipment or use white scroll? I want to get a perfect scroll before cubing my weapon/armor

Hey, im glad you made this video to guide new maplesea players, but could you also include the range required to solo for the bosses?
Range is not a good benchmark right now cos each classes have their own calculation and some classes have inflated range. So normally we benchmark using Mulung Dojo Floors. If you could clear 37-40 floor dojo you can solo all the Chaos Root Abyss and Hard Magbus bosses, and for 43-46 floor you can join in Normal Lucid runs, 45-47 for Normal Will runs and etc.
@@x3TheAran59 are the differences big enough to matter in this case? cus there arent any guides out there for maplesea that indicates the damage range required for each bosses. such as 1.5m for CRA.
tbh had this question for a while, I understand the progression path but say you starforced your fensalir items, then say you upgrade to a cygnus set, wouldn't you have wasted money on your fensalir set? curious as to what you guys do to prevent wasting resources on previous equips

Wild Hunter is a class that requires quite a bit of funding but the buffs are very good in party play as well as unique Jaguars skills.

What stats do I aim for on the eq, not on the potential but the actual eq itself? Also what sort of potential am I gonna aim for ?
You should aim for your main stat for example, Warrior = STR. As for additional potential the green text, aim for main stat and % All Stat. For potential on Emblem aim for ATK % or Ignored Enemies Def %. For Weapon/Sub Weapon aim for ATK % or Boss Damage %

Steve i got one question would 22* enraged zak belt be cheaper and worth compared to a 12* Tyrant belt?
12 Tyrant belt has much higher stats and is more expensive to make than 22 zak belt. 22 zak belt is similar to 10 Tyrant belt.

Is the Fafnir plus Cvel helm for 30% more boss damage or cra hat plus abso weapon with higher base attack and flames and 10% more ignore def more worth it? Wonder which is a better trade off
Normally we will go for CRA Hat because of the better flames compared to CVEL and you'll swap out your CRA Hat to Abso Hat when you use a Arcane Weapon, that is to utilize the Abso set effect. For Zero CVEL Hat is the best cos their weapon can scroll to CRA set regardless of weapon type.

May I ask why not go for 5 set Absolabs (weapon/shoulder/shoes/cape/gloves) + 3 set Fafnir instead of 6 set abso+ 2 set Fafnir? Don't you lose like 30 MA/WA in favor of 10%HP/MP?
It depends, cos Abso equips give a lot of Flame stats compared to Fafnir and in the long run you'll be swapping out the Abso weapon to Arcaneshade, so having and Abso hat is a better option, but you can also go for Lucky Hat option (but with lesser flame stats but you get multiple set effect)

Arkarium drops Dominator Pendant at a tremendously low rate, it's a super rare drop.
You do spell traces and star for fanir when the progress? You do 70% traces or 15% for weapon? I heard that u mention you able to do cra when you that item benchmark so I am curious. Well I try with my 2.5m range bow master the old time cra+absolab set epic pot with will trace and 17 star it still hard for me to solo c vellum
Yes I do Spell Trace and Star Force them to 17 Star. But I do it progressively, making each item 12 Star and 70% Spell Trace first then only slowly work on individual equip during Sunday Maple 50% Spell Trace discount / 30% Star Force discount and getting them to 17 Star and 30% (Other equip) and 15% (Weapon) Spell Trace. Also make use of event cubes to get at least your 3 main items - Weapon, Sub-weapon and Emblem to Unique, that will help a lot.

Hi Steve! Thanks for the great F2P guide. Can I ask if at lvl 200 onwards is it better to focus on the arcane force or your equipments? As I’m always running out of mesos due to upgrading my arcane force.
You'll have to focus on both, because Arcane Force will add 100 stat every Symbol level. Which will give a huge boost. Try to make use of Coin Shop events to get those event rings plus epic potentials scroll, flames & Star Force scrolls, so you can have more mesos for Arcane Symbols.

hey man, watched the video and im currently using a cvel helm for 9 piece boss and 5 piece abso. is replacing my cvel helm worth it? i'll be losing 9 piece boss but i'll be gaining the advantages of using abso hat instead of cvel hat. not sure if 9 piece boss is worth keeping the cvel helm for. advice appreciated!
Only swap out your Cvel hat when you swap your weapon to Arcaneshade. You can remain as it for now. Cos once you swap out your weapon you won't be able to get the CRA set effect, so that time swap the Hat for Abso.

Definitely worth cos you'll get more flame stats as well as Abso set effect.
