Fall into deep sleep with the sounds of a blizzard and a fireplace. This cozy winter atmosphere and the sounds of a snow storm will help you relax and fall asleep. Story line:
" This story happened to me back in 1972 in the province of Bickenville in northern Finland. I went there on a business trip as part of an expedition that consisted of 12 people. The task of the expedition was to observe rare constellations that could only be seen in this part of the globe. Bickenville was famous not only for its astronomical capabilities, but also for the rather anomalous events that occurred here quite often. From the stories of local residents, there was often a phenomenon here when at the same time it was day in half of the village and night in the other half. Or another case: at the end of December, at a temperature of -27 degrees Celsius, local residents were harvesting peaches in a local garden. Such anomalies were quite common here, and no one was particularly surprised by this. Our whole group of 12 people settled in a hotel near the forest, on the outskirts of Bickenville. The hotel was old but very clean, comfortable and cosy. Each member of the group settled in a separate room, including me. I really liked the room, everything was made of wood, beautiful furniture, a large fireplace, and a panoramic window on the entire wall. From the window there was a beautiful view of the forest and the village. On the day we arrived, it began to snow, so our research and observations of the stars were forced to be postponed until the weather conditions improved. Each member of the expedition could do whatever he wanted, walk, relax, or just sit in the room and read books. I chose the latter option, lit the fire, grabbed a stack of books from the local library, and enjoyed this wonderful moment. I never thought that on my first day in Bouquenville I would encounter an anomaly that I would remember for the rest of my life. I was sitting in an armchair by the fireplace and reading a book, when suddenly the telephone rang. He was near the bed, and I did not immediately notice him. Picking up the phone, I heard: "Hello! Is this Mr. Henderson?" - "Yes" - I answered. The interlocutor continued: "Mr. Henderson, sit down. Perhaps what I will tell you now will shock you, but I want to assure you in advance that you do not worry, such events are the norm for Boukenville. Mr. Henderson, my name is Bill, I am a receptionist hotel where you stayed, I'm calling you from 1976. The fact is that a visitor to our hotel found your wallet in his room, which fell behind the nightstand. There was your business card in the wallet. I checked the database and saw that you stayed with us in the month of December 1972. I decided to call you and ask you not to forget to pick up your wallet when you check out of the hotel." The first thing I did was laugh, and then I said - "Thanks Bill, but I think you need to sleep" After that I hung up. I did not immediately understand what was the matter, then I rethought the telephone conversation and went to check if there was a wallet in my coat pocket. To my surprise, it was not in my coat pocket. I laughed again and went to the bedside table, pushing it a little, I saw my wallet. When I picked it up, I did not believe what had just happened. This story was the most unusual story in my entire life. "

Brings back memories of my youth. I would only get a fire in the fireplace in my bedroom if it was extra cold or I was ill. The cosiness that that fire gave made me feel warm and either on the road to recovery or well looked after, especially if when I was ill, I was allowed to play with the Christmas decorations, even if it was nowhere near Christmas. I have huge logging trucks ripping by at all hours of the night. The airhorns, the engines, the chains…diabolical. This masks the sounds just enough that I can actually get to sleep and get some uninterrupted sleep. Besides which, it’s cozy. I put my iPad by the window that faces the road and I’m suddenly tucked up as snow flies and the fire crackles (I have a fake fireplace, so the crackling is icing on the cake). Thank you, Rainy Guy.

Как приятно слышать такой далёкий, но такой знакомый звук. Расскажу свою историю) эти звуки: ветер, вьюга, треск, потрескивание дров в камине, снегопад за окном-все это звуки моей первой любви, точнее первой взрослой любви. Так мы проводили зимние вечера с моим, на тот момент, моим молодым человеком. Маленький домик, крошечный, на берегу небольшого озера, весь сделан из дерева. С запахом дерева ничего не сравнится, мои вещи ещё очень долго пахли этим уютным домиком. Там был не камин, а точнее современная печь - камин, мы подкладывали туда дровишек, и грелись под одеялом. Незабываемые ощущения, мы вдвоём и эти звуки, вьюга, метель, снегопад за окном и треск дров. Я не забуду это никогда. Как хорошо, что наша история любви закончилась раньше, чем я того хотела. Иначе бы эти лёгкие и тёплые воспоминания были бы омрачены тяжёлыми отношениями, из которых я не в силах была бы выбираться.

The big bay window draws me straight in to a private world that exists between here and there, where I can just focus on now. On the beautiful snow flurrying by, the warm glow of the lights on the nightstand, the fireplace shadow flickering on the hardwood floor.
The oil painting above the bed that looks like a mystery, and the blue/green checkered blanket that is my favorite color. It all invites me to rest and be fully present in this moment. Thank you again, Rainy Guy 😊🙏👌
