You need to get a gear serial number from sea fisheries before you put a net on the beach. It’s just for safety purposes so people know whose gear it is. If you speak to sea fisheries they will tell you what you need & the laws etc.
Your not allowed to net havelet bay restricted waters all year round up to half tide line ,like many bays in guernsey , but few who take up recreational netting bother to read the rules so end up netting illegally
