    I forgot to mention, these features are coming later this year with some coming earlier for beta users!

    • @strongmen
      @strongmen 4 месяца назад

      Do you have a special preview to play with the new Athlete Intelligence? or is that already available in the beta? To get beta is it just joining the beta in the play store? Finally, are all these new features (aside from dark mode I'm assuming) only for paid subscribers?

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  4 месяца назад +1

      @@strongmen I think the AI stuff is special access right now but it will go full beta soon. Most of the training centric features are for paid subscribers but other more general features like Dark Mode and the club features will be for everyone.

    The routes at night thing is one I didn't know I wanted. It's not safe to run here after dark anymore, and I'm looking to move to places where I could do that.

    Hopefully rebuilding the app means they can at least allow us to alphabetize our shoes/gear.
    That’s all I really want 😢

    Hey Dave, I'm glad you got a chance to get out to LA to learn about the new Strava features for all of us, but now I am a bit worried. The biggest deal that Ray reported (I thought) was the AI Leaderboard Integrity where they were going to fix all the bogus data in the leaderboards (from people doing runs on bikes by mistake, or segments in their car forgetting to turn off tracking, or straight up hacking the data) that has been ruining the leaderboards for years. (Not sure why they need AI to determine that someone can't run uphill faster than Usain Bolt.) Now I'm concerned that this is not happening - can you confirm?

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  4 месяца назад +2

      Yes, “verified best efforts” is part of the AI stuff coming down the road. It was briefly discussed so I’m not totally sure how it will work.

    I have a forerunner 965, Fenix 7x, Edge 1040+, and the Index scale. In your opinion what can Strava do/provide that Garmin doesn’t?
    I really don’t care about segments or social networking features.
    I used to pay for it but didn’t find value.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  4 месяца назад +1

      It’s really all about the social aspect of it. If you don’t care about that there’s not a lot of reason to sign up. The mapping/course creation is arguably better on Strava but Garmin is pretty good there too. The free plan does a lot as well if you just want to try it out.

      @@ChaseTheSummit I do like the heat map on Strava better since there is more data. Most of the time I run/ride in areas I know so it isn’t that big of a deal. When I travel though the heat map is amazing! And it is available using the free Strava version.

    I think Family Plan is for retention. They don't care who is on the plan; it's so people rely on you to not stop your subscription.

    All I really want is some way of limiting which activities will flow from Garmin to Strava. If I go boating or fishing, the activities flow to Strava leading to a 50 mile “swim”. Same goes for scuba diving. I’d like to not have to manually delete these. Just give me a series of toggles that limit what will flow, whether it’s in Garmin Connect or Strava.

    I just can't get over the fact that they straight out refused to implement a "Support Palestine" map like they did for Ukraine despite the immense suffering there as well as a large community requesting it specifically. This prevents me getting excited about anything Strava anymore and had me cancel my 10 year old subscription. Double standards are not nice and I don't want to be part of an elitist community. Dark mode... Really?

    Anything about strava handling multisport activities? Swimrun activities completely ruined your listing of activities. This has been asked for for a very long time. Swimrun Monaco even made a listing that I think was sent to strava. But no reaction what so ever...

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  4 месяца назад +1

      From the outside it seems like a simple thing but after talking to the Strava team it took a team of software developers to achieve dark mode as the foundation of the strava app didn't support it. They essentially had to re-build the entire app for dark mode.

    • @dhfox322
      @dhfox322 4 месяца назад

      @@ChaseTheSummit They had to re-build the entire app for dark mode? Seriously? What an absolute waste of time and effort. There are literally hundreds of other requested features that Strava has ignored for years. Which all could have been achieved if they used a fraction of the developers and time they used to build dark mode.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  4 месяца назад +1
