Great choices! If I may interject on the pronunciation of ‘Astronomy Domine’; I have PF bootlegs where band members announce it as ``doh-mee-nay,'' and I've heard interviews where they pronounce it ``dom-in-ee.'' However I remember a Division Bell era interview where Nick Mason corrects the interviewer by stating that it is the Latin variation (i.e. doh-mee-nay') Anyway, keep rocking, brother! 🤘🏻
Sheep from Animals would have made my list. A creepy atmospheric song with a trippy middle part (featuring Wright's keyboard playing) and a pretty heavy Gilmour solo over the final couple of minutes of the song.
Yeah, good list! There's a part in Floyd's "The Gold It's In The..." at about 1:30 in for about a minute that reminds me of UFO's "Oh My" the way the chords change while Gilmour's soloing and the bass line was borrowed by Pete Way for their song. Was early Schenker influenced by Gilmour's style? Seems so but I've not heard it mentioned.
Good choices. 2 more one could consider of Careful With That Axe Eugene. Especially live version off Ummagumma. The heaviness that builds and the guitars and stuff and the screams of Roger Waters. It's classic and off A Momentary Lapse of Reasons Dogs Of War heaviness is in there. Cheers🎶
Floyd is one of the heaviest bands I know, but all done without metal chords. The atmosphere they create is so dense and emotional. It’s hard to believe that they really aren’t a metal band in any shape or form. That’s why I love them. They don’t need amps that turn up to 11,your mind does it for you. Saucerful of secrets, time, dogs, careful with that axe, echoes and set the controls for the heart of the sun, are all good examples of Floyd’s atmosphere.
From my by far favorite Floyd album…Obscured by Clouds. Animals is close 2Nd. Then it’s cherry picking songs from the rest of this band. An overrated band
I will nominate “One Of My Turns” from The Wall. For the lyrical content and vocal delivery by Waters. When l listen to that song l always want to smash stuff. Whoooaaarrrggghhh!!! Keep up the delectable content, Lord of Alchemy. And, in the immortal words of Rik Emmett from Triumph, 🎵”Rock Out, Roll On!”🎵 🤘 🤘
No "Care With That Axe Eugene" where Roger is doing proto-black metal screams? No "Sheep" which is so close to being a metal song, in it's crunchy guitar riffs and aggressive vocals & has been covered by metal bands? I also would have included the Live version of "Run Like Hell" from "Is There Anybody Out There: The Wall Live" which is much more heavy & aggressive than the discoish studio version. Gonna have to disagree with your list.
Have to disagree with your last choice, the final cut is a pile of garbage. Never thought highly of that disc. The rest were pretty much what I would pick. Adding learning to fly from momentary lapse of reason.
Great choices!

The Nile Song is proto heavy metal.

That was on my initial list but got bumped off...love the song, would have been number 11 for me.
one of my favorite songs ever and my favorite PF album
love it - thanks for the tracks - made a set-list

Good choices. I'd also add Run like hell from the Wall
I agree. Love that song.
A song that would have fit perfectly on The Warriors soundtrack
That's a solid list man! I'd also include "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" from Ummagumma.
Always great content but this video is particularly awesome 🤘
Thanks Anthony...I always appreciate your support and comments.
Careful With That Axe Eugene is heavy
I am surprised that you put Final cut above Animals! Wow.. Their hardest Album for sure. Also Carefule-Axe-Eugene is Hard, psycodelic and Awesome!
I would have added Lucifer Sam from the first album.
Good one👍it’s quite a heavy riff.
Yeah…good pick! That is a heavy riff.
Before watching the video I would pick “one of these days”. Lyrics pure death metal :D
You'll never walk alone

I agree and I like the way you describe them..they are very heavy but on an emotional level rather then a power chord one.
Have you seen any live at Pompeii ? The whole set is marshalls!
@@thomaskauser8978 Love that movie!!
Did you see the Roger waters program of him and friend traveling to the fathers gravesite? Obscured by clouds is my jam.
@@thomaskauser8978 No I haven't...will have to look it up.
Careful with that Axe Eugene, and all of ummaguma studio album. Ummaguma is heavy as F.... Momentary Lapse of Reason is also HEAVY AF
Sheep has some damn heavy parts to it as well.
one of these days reminds me of black sabbath
The Gold It’s in the.. is nice pre AC/DC
it is!

"One of my Turns" is a good one.
Ibiza Bar, the Nile Songs ugly twin
True!
Dogs of War from Momentary Lapse of Reason :D
but of course, you realize that isn't really The Pink Floyd. It's a stable full of assorted poets set to the tune of the Dave Gilmour band

Gonna have to disagree with your list.
"Axe" was on my initial list but outside of that scream and the name of the song it's more of a scary psychedelic song in my opinion.

I thought Dogs of War was heavier than Learning To Fly but either could make the list IMO.
The final cut is a great album
