as soon as one hits the country - I don't even think the mold is finished in NZ yet so right now I have no idea...the little I know about the design i cannot wait to try it next to the old one as it look like a winner
Awesome Yaks. Have had my 400 for around 5 years now and can't fault it in any way. Had a 6 hour session this morning chasing bass and no issues comfort wise.
Another great review! Wish I had a 400 for some of the rivers around here or even just as a partner yak. My Reload is the ultimate platform for bigger water but I can see how the 400 would be excellent in rivers for maneuverability.
sorry missed this question - def being longer and a very different bow the Reload is better all round for those 3 scenarios - higher top cruising speed, easier to hold that speed to get on those downwind swells and keep the nose from diving with the bow flares
Mal Drury oh man they are polar opposites ! 400 glides through where the bow on the GT barges through, I love my GT for its stability but I only use it when planning trips that I paddle very little and sight cast standing...In the profish 400 from memory I had a cruising speed of around 5.5-6km hr at roughly 60% effort - to get that in the GT your talking 80%+ effort. See if you can take one for a paddle, you wont be disappointed
I believe yes you will fit - weight wise no issues - can you not get to see one and sit in it? its poss you may just remove the foot rests and have your feet on the end of the foot well but can be certain
Thanks for explaining those embedded threads!
welcome - they poss should come with a guide for each kayak explaining what each feature is actually for as many retailers forget to point this out
been waiting nearly 2 years for my reload, should get it feb 24
That's one heck of a wait time ! hoe you get to blood it first trip
When will you be reviewing the 2023 Viking profish 400?

Me too...making this video had me trying to justify getting one back in the fleet!
Best all around kayak I've ever had, does everything well :)
Great to hear mate and thanks for taking the time
great demo of kayak looking to buy one
You wont regret it, great kayak this one.
Awesome. Thank you very much for sharing and I hope you have an excellent week. Regards
thanks buddy!
Jason, I'm 73 and would be opting for the E version with a spare battery pack on board. Would I need the drouge or the anchor with this version?
sorry I missed this - I would say yes always carry an anchor option if you want to conserve battery
Great review, Cheers
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for the great review again. How would you compare this one to the reload for speed and long distances and surf in downwind please?
sorry missed this question - def being longer and a very different bow the Reload is better all round for those 3 scenarios - higher top cruising speed, easier to hold that speed to get on those downwind swells and keep the nose from diving with the bow flares
@@PaddleGuy1 cool thanks for the answer again. Im going for the reload, waiting for some to arrive here in Tahiti :)
Hi pal just wondering you say that you oi out off shore so if you see a GWP shark what do you I'm going of my depth and just l like know what to do
Is the 400 different to the 400 Lite?
I have the GT but find it limited in how far I can travel. How much easier would the 400 be to paddle? Thanks

@@PaddleGuy1 Thanks Jason, I am thinking about trading mine in on the 400 Bixpy package. Really good value compared with some of the pedal Yaks.
Hey I'm looking at bying on of these I'm 6 foot 5 about 95kg do you think I would fit in on of these
I believe yes you will fit - weight wise no issues - can you not get to see one and sit in it? its poss you may just remove the foot rests and have your feet on the end of the foot well but can be certain
@@PaddleGuy1 thanks man I think I'm going to go to a dealer and get one this weekend
How do you store rod on this while going through surf?
Pretty much the same as I do with the Reload - see this set up which works as well on the 400 ruclips.net/video/aW7iEq5l0fQ/видео.html
