It's lovely. Robbie Steinhardt is so cool. Those guys were a number of years older than me, but when I was a freshman in college, one of my roommates was a senior and so he was already 4 years older, but he knew those guys through church stuff because he was from Topeka, which is the state capital of Kansas in the United States and about 30 minutes west of where I live. My roommate had this killer, massive audiophile stereo system that could crush when it came to stereo wars. If you put something on with really low bass frequencies, like the finale to the Saint Säens 2nd organ concerto, you could feel that bass rumble a block away. Conversely, if I were sitting in front of the subwoofers, it literally visibly moved the jeans in and out against my leg, and I could feel the pressure on any exposed skin. Some of the more heavy-duty components in his system were hand-me-downs from this band Kansas. The band name was even stenciled on them. And I was such a huge fan starting in junior high - they were such a great combination of prog rock and a bunch of other stuff, and they were so good and so creative, and people loved to get high to their music, much like Rush and Pink Floyd and some other bands. "Point of No Return from their iconic album Point of Know Return is a fantastic storytelling song, and it is an epic tour de force, and it always gets to me emotionally.
Always a pleasure watching you soak up the soul of the songs you react to! You have deep feeling in your soul & it clearly shows. Thanks for sharing your journey!!
Whoever listens to this sweet melody is struck in the soul; the soul, like the wind, feeds the fire of joy, the fire of happiness and the fire of spirituality that the whole world needs to hear. 🌺

You have discovered one of my favorite bands! Believe it or not, this song started as a finger-picking exercise for founding member Kerry Livgren. His wife suggested he put lyrics to it and make a song out of it and a masterpiece was born!
You mentioned camping, and this is one of those songs that gets played late, when drinks have been had and conversations go in all sorts of directions after.
Iam remembering back in one of those warm summer nights in my bedroom where I should had been sleeping but I had my earplugs connected and this came across the airwaves. Wonderful.
Love you Mrs. Pen Pal & your beautiful channel! Yet another terrific reaction! You & I love the same types of music... MAY GOD POUR OUT MANY, MANY WONDERFUL BLESSINGS ON YOU & YOUR LOVED ONES! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
Absolutely phenomenal song. It's hard to find anything wrong with it. And I love your reaction to it and how you took to it, as a singer yourself, so magnificently. Here's to your next one MrsPP. 🙏😊❤️
Very prolific song. The guitar part was originally used as an exercise warmup for the guitarist but encouraged by his band mates made into a song! Yes, Kansas, are great instrumentals. Checkout their live performance of "Carry On Wayward Son". Thanks Blessing! 😊
I lived in Nebraska, so a buddy and I had to go to Red Rocks (Colorado/God's Cathedral). Very well worth the trip and a nice ride on a couple of Harleys with our girls. Roughly $1.00 gas. Hell yeah.😎😎 I've seen them since then with the new band members in Reno (Harrah's outdoor venue) Still killin' it. I was hitting the trifecta 05/06/2022, unfortunately they cancelled so It's another Alice Cooper show but I'm not complaining. I still have this LP./Album. "All your money won't another minute buy"🥺
I'm from Kansas, so this band would still play a lot of local festivals. They were actually my first concert in 1993 when I was just 10 years old. I'll never forget during this song, they turned the lights down, and put a spotlight on the violinist during the solo. At one point the lead singer popped up from behind an amp stack with a fish net acting like he going to net the violinist. Suggestions: Point of no Return, and Song for America.
You should listen and react to "What do i got to lose?" by Sebastian Bach the ex lead singer of skid row it came out late last year it'd be great to see how you compare his voice now and then
hello dear Blessing (you are) 💖 I have listened to this many-a-time over the years; its been really a spiritual experience, and I originally cracked crying, when the violins kicked in - so touching. Now I find it hard to emphasize any part of it over the others. Its just so perfect, as it is. After this one and 'Carry on Wayward Son' I went on the journey of discovering them more... there's a lot to recommend... let me just pick 2 especially gorgeous and interesting songs as examples: 'Magnum Opus' and 'Icarus - Born on Wings of Steel' - both what I would categorize as 70s ProgRock - highly creative and entertaining 🌈
Maybe the most popular band of that era, albeit briefly, was New guys on the Block. They were so popular they were even compared to Jesus. Which upset some people understandably.
This is legitimately one of my favorite songs and as morbid as it may sound, I want this as my funeral tribute song. The composition and musical flow match the somber lyrics and it ties into the meaning of life itself when you realize that in the grand scheme of the universe, we are but a speck of dust in the wind and without a higher purpose, we are meaningless. Remember though, a spec of dust can change someone's vision, make them cough, OR, make glass so you can see. This next part I stole from a Medium article by D.A. DiGerolamo, but it completely summarizes my thoughts and feelings: While we may all be but dust in the wind, we’re still here, we still exist, we still have the ability to impact those around us...We have the ability to teach and learn, to leave our mark on the world. While we may come and go, our impact on those around us lingers (long after we're gone). Have a GREAT day and never stop smiling!!!!
Kerry Livgren (guitar), Steve Walsh (singer) and Robby Steinhardt (violin/ background vocals(RIP) all musical geniuses. Kerry Livgren was definitely influenced by his Christian faith in his writing.

This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it!
One of their best. I don't know how intentional it was at the time, but it is a Classic. Peace, Love!!
Great reaction. I have loved this song since I was a child and I have requested that it be played at my funeral

You are so wonderful! Amen thanks for your prayers 🙏
That's what the 70s were all about creativity!
This song has been referenced in so many movies. When I hear it I think of a college kid sitting under a tree on campus singing to some friends lol
I think it was used in the end of Twister.
@trhansen3244 i believe Bill and Ted referenced it also
You’re my boy blue ❤

Back in the 60’s and 70’s a lot of bands were deep.
💯

I really think you'd love the song "The Great Gig In The Sky" by Pink Floyd, watch the video live on the Pulse album. No words, but pure emotion.
Steve Walsh..one of the great rock voices!
