Nick, I love your sweet attitude that you have. I was a landscape designer and started gardening with my paternal grandmother, when I was 9 years old. Now that I’m 82, I need a little more help from my great granddaughter, with my garden. But, it is a wonderful life working a watching everything growing! God bless you, & keep making the world a more beautiful place. 💕🌸🌻🌼
It looks really peaceful and relaxing now. I cleaned up some vegetable beds today and it felt good to pull fresh sweet potatoes for my little pup. They are her favorite. Don’t have to winterize down in Florida but come April/May the green house needs to have shade cloth put up and a fan plugged in to keep it from being a 110 degree hot box.
I've been fighting Voles (not moles) for 3 yrs. They eat roots of plants (flowers, Yews, Conifers, hostas, ferns, evergreens, cone flowers, Hydrangeas ) in my yard. They do NOT hibernate--so they will eat plant roots during Winter. In some yards, they only eat grass roots and make top tunnels. Voles move into abandoned tunnels of moles and chipmonk, gophers. I finally had to use poison--you can buy pipe-like containers online so other wild life do not eat the poison or pull poison down into their holes in grounds.
Love the videos, you could always get more boards and stain them and cap the back side to cover the unstained boards. Just a thought. Love your greenhouse ❤
Love your greenhouse! Its so satisfying to get your gardens all cleaned up. I always enjoy your videos and your voice has auch a soothing tone, so easy to listen to. You'd be great at doing audible books. Have a great week. 😊
Looks so much better, hope the plastic does the job it looks fine, how nice to have it to get things in for the winter can’t wait to see it all decorated🎄
GM Nick!!!! I can't wait to see how you decorate the green house .Nick the plastic looks good why not leave it is not Blacking the light . Is therapeutic cleaning the Garden everything looks good .God bless you Nick ❤️
Everything looks great! It’s always sad when it’s time to take down what you’ve worked so hard for. Can’t wait to see what you do for Christmas this year.
I just crunched up my tree leaves and put them on raised garden beds for munch and to make compost for next spring. Crunched leaves are best munch on plant. I then sprayed water on top of crunched leaves so they would not blow away.
Good morning Nick! I think the plastic looks just fine, especially when you decorate it won't be noticeable. I am wondering why you tossed the mums...I was like "Noooooooo 😮" I plant mine and they thrive in the ground. (I am in a neighborhood not far from you, by Quarry trails and a golf course). Have you tried much? I've planted Aldi ones, a quality brand, and I swear the aldis for 2.99 a couple years, and some for regular price are by far my largest ones.People always ask why they are so big. I have ones that supposedly are not colweather, but quess what..i divided and conquered them. I had multiples in my front this year from one i divided last year..😊 if you don't want them forever maybe donate them or freebie them curbside with a sign..? 💚 Enjoy the warm up this week without sweating too much😆 what a summer, I'm ready for the chill too!
You are totally correct that I could plant all of the mums that I have. The reason I tossed those ones is twofold. Firstly, I don’t really want orange in my flowerbeds when it’s not autumn. Secondly, I have probably 50+ mums that I decorated with this year and I just don’t have time to plant them. I’ve chosen my favorite ones to replant in the ground. I could give them away, but I live on a street that dead ends and no one would see them.
@NicksBackyardBlooms yeah that makes sense, I don't like other colors after fall. Chopped my yellow heads off yesterday 😆 . about to start thanksgiving and Christmas colors in my outdoors. That's a bummer you can't give em away. I suppose they'll make you some good compost though🙂

Great job with the plastic. It can be unruly when installing by yourself. It should help a lot.

@ Yeah, I’m decorating my greenhouse the next day I have off work!
Hmmm. I'd be worrying about the voles eating stuff in the greenhouse. I do know that sticky traps are very effective for mice. No chemicals.
Another Thing ..I have a dog now and they don't like the smell of urine .
