  • The final of the Swiss Cup of season 1992-93. After the defeat in the precedent edition against FC Luzern, The FC Lugano is able to qualify again at the final. But the adversary of this year is the Grasshoppers, the strongest team of the country. After a huge performance, the FC Lugano wins surprisingly with result 4-1, with a double of his forward Nestor Subiat. This victory is nowadays a sweet remember for FC Lugano's fans; it's, until now, the last trophy won by the club, and the team of this period was composed by a lot of tessiner players formed by the youth's teams of Lugano. There were the captain Cristian "Tita" Colombo, Antonio "Tony" Esposito, Pier Luigi Tami (now Swiss national U-21 team trainer). There were players like the goalkeeper Philipp Walker, and the "God" Mauro Geraldo Galvao, defender and captain of the Brasilian Selecao at World Cup of Italy 1990, and the brasilian midfield Andrioli ; both are now remembered as symbol-players of the club.
