@D-Bunker-zv1bj The Right given by Scripture! Sola Scriptura! Scripture Alone! and Scripture has Declared Unrepentant Homosexuality to be a Abomination!
@D-Bunker-zv1bjAll true Christians have the right, given by the Word of God, to agree with and uphold what God has already said concerning same sex "mirage". He never has, and never will bless what He condemns, and neither will any true Christian.
@@jamestrotter3162 He's never said anything about it. And Paul's admonitions are against the erotic nature of homosexuality. Which I admit is legion. not all of homosexual relationships are merely erotic. 8% of the population identifies as exclusively gay. That's 640 million gay people on the planet. Christianity isn't just for straight people lol.
Thanks for this. We as a church also left the CofE this year (to join ACE - Anglican Convocation Europe). We very much appreciate those, like you, who have taken action because it's simply the right thing to do, yet remain humble in doing it. Love from our little church in Leyland!
Thank you Brother Brett. I am no longer an Anglican, after ministering within the Church for 16 years . However, I am always greatly encouraged by your weekly blog.
I understand your leaving. I.....was a faithful attender at Anglican churches. I now: love God with all my heart, but am highly suspicious of the C of E; well, have given up. E.g see the comment i just wrote about Jayne Ozanne - I mean: REAAAAALLY 🙄 - Give me strength - does all this stuff have anything to do with the reality of God and Jesus Christ? No, it is on another planet. Great veracity is required, great vigilance....apostate hardly covers it.😮
I was brought up C of E. My parents were regular churchgoers and every school I attended was a C of E school. The grammar school I attended even had a Reverend as its headmaster. When I left school I couldn't get away from the C of E fast enough. There was so much in the teachings which appeared nonsensical to me, not only in the C of E but also throughout the whole Anglican church - in fact, throughout the whole of mainstream Christendom. Different branches had different beliefs and doctrines, and to me it was nothing but a mess. It affected me so badly that I dismissed God entirely. However, I was left with one thing which played on my mind. Although I had dismissed God due to the weird teachings of the churches, I also dismissed evolution as an even bigger joke. This all bothered me because when I looked at our world I was thoroughly convinced there was design there. Everything was far too complex for it to have appeared from nothing but I couldn't work out who designed it. God? Martians? Other little green men? Then one day I met a religious person who tried to talk to me but I stopped him pretty quick, stating emphatically that I had zero interest. We continued with our normal conversation and when we ended it he asked me if he could make a single statement for me to take away and consider. I agreed thinking there was no harm in it. Then came the most important 9 words I would ever hear which would eventually end up turning my life around. He said: _"For every creation there has to be a creator."_ Looking back later on I realised he was being led by holy spirit because God knew it was the only subject that would get a positive response from me. That response came a few days later when I went to his home to talk to him. I thought that if he had something to say about creation then I should listen to him. He offered to do a study of the Bible with me and I accepted. From there he told me things the church had never told me; he answered questions I had that the church could never answer other than give me the standard response of _"God works in mysterious ways."_ But the most important thing of all is he answered all my questions from the Bible, showing me all the relevant scriptures to back up what he was teaching me. Finally, everything in the Bible - its complete message to mankind - made complete sense after he explained it thoroughly whilst referencing the scriptures all the time. Finally, I had had the truth of God's word fully explained to me. That was over 30 years ago and since then I have been watching prophecy being fulfilled just as he said it would. I know what is happening, why it's happening, and what the final outcome will be. The Bible isn't a collection of stories, it has a consistent theme running through it from the first page to the last. There is no mystery, it was a sacred secret which has been revealed bit by bit as time went by. Today we have the full understanding of scripture available to us. Sadly, the mainstream churches do not understand which is why their "Christian" doctrines differ from denomination to denomination. They do not know the truth.

@@chriswatkin5476Good point. I also wonder how many couples about to be married in church are virgins on their wedding day? So, divorced people remarrying and non virgins marrying are at least two ways the church is prepared to "bless sin".
@@DIBBY40OK. If we take the non virgin marrying, then the sin of sex outside of marriage is not being blessed. They are now getting married - so they have moved from sin to covenant commitments. Divorce and remarriage has been accommodated, in the main because there is a biblical basis for doing so - and that has more or less been the case for the entire history of the church. Homosexual marriage and relationships are categorically against scripture - there is no scriptural basis for the act, and no historical/tradition based precedent for it either. The church has always spoken with one voice on this: marriage is for one man and one woman.
@@TheB1nary Actually sex outside of marriage (if you believe it is sin) is getting blessed. I know of someone who told some gay friends of mine that they were sinful, that it was against the Bible. But when it comes to two men, or two women wanting to commit then suddenly it's a huge problem. This is the problem you get with moralism. It makes hypocrites. It is a reason people don't respect the church.

This has to be the most christian response I've heard from anyone. At the same time, are they really your enemies? The most common definition of enemy in the bible is "one who hates" I don't think proposing same sex blessing is an example of that. (nor not accepting brett into their fold lol) In my own life, I've had to wrestle with that whether my abusers were my enemies. I don't plan on forgiveness towards them, but I can pray that god forgives them. Now the way alot of these so-called christians plan to oppress LGBQTIA+ people, punching down--using scripture? I left the Methodist church after forty years and more recently my wife left after fifty five years. We now attend a Grace Baptist church. It seems to me that all of the historic denominations (eg Methodist, Baptist Union, URC, CofE and next maybe the Roman Catholics) are abandoning the authority of Scripture and traditional teaching of their churches and following the spirit of the age. At 3:03 - If one denies the factual Resurrection of Christ Jesus, why would one even spend time in the Christian Church or call themselves a Christian? A dead Jesus would have simply been a madman with a messiah complex. Who would follow that? The Disciples didn't, nor did Paul, or any of the early members of the Church. The Bishop who wrote that is a fool, and an even bigger fool if he remained in a faith in which he didn't believe. Yes, he should have been ushered out of leadership and into psychological counseling, or simply out of the church altogether.
If people find comfort and learn from Jesus's teachings. If people find a church community that treats them with love and care and as a result they wish to give back to the community. To me proving the idea that Jesus came back to life is unimportant. I don't deny it, I don't believe it outright. I respect that some people believe it fully, i respect that others do not. My aim for my life is to treat people with love and create a heavenly kingdom on earth. I find that dogma can often get in the way of that. Instead of seeing people as they are, people see each other through the lens of a text which was written through the lens of people who compiled the text which was written through the lens of people who translated the text which was written through the lens of people who wrote the original text, hence the thousands of different denominations and interpretations all claiming to be the 'one true church'. To me his death is the greater symbol of love- he didn't fight back through the torture. I don't see it as mad to let oneself be killed rather than harm those who try to harm oneself. I see it as loving one's enemies and the only way to attain peace on earth. But you're right, I too sometimes feel unwelcome and out of place in churches that value dogma over love. But regardless I feel the most sensible way to live is to treat all people no matter their beliefs with love and care in order to do my part to bring peace to Earth.
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Be strong the Catholic Church is going through some rough seas, but have faith. Remember God is in charge.
I studied at a Catholic university in the early 90s that had a seminary. There were plenty of practicing homosexuals in it. Seminarians and priests who were responsible for their formation. I knew a couple of straight guys who would have made great priests who had to leave because of the level of debauchery. I asked them why they didn't report it to their bishops and they said they know and anyone who says anything about it gets kicked out.
This concurs with my own experience studying in grad school at an American Catholic University back in the late 1980s. I presume that it is a lot worse now. It is difficult to be optimistic about the future given current trends. @@riverdonoghue9992
Some of the Eastern Orthodox churches are solid and likely to hold. The Coptic Church is worth a look but their theology is different and you would need to check it out.
I considered leaving the Anglo - Catholic faith after 1993 after the ordaining of woman I knew this was not going to stop, not just about Woman being ordained but I didn't know what. but when I moved to the Midlands I searched for an orthodox church. Found it & found that I had come Home. I became Orthodox in 2011, it was hard to separate myself. From Anglicanism but I did it & went to the Orthodox church regularly.
Hi Brett, my husband and I are in Wellington, NZ. We too have left as there is nowhere to go here. Except if you live in Christchurch. So we now are Catholics, but even they are moving in tge wrong direction as well. And most of the congregation we attended are for it. So we are lost to where to go.
Don't move out of your congregation, you doing that will only make it easier for them. Instead, stay strong and find like-minded people from your parish. The world is learning of the flaws of these hedonistic liberal ideologies, the changes will come slowly but until then don't abandon the holy Church.
What do you think of the pope's statement about blessing same sex unions, plus his sanctioning of transgender baptism and godparents? It's seems it happening from the bottom up and the top down in the RCC as well. I know of Catholics that left protestant churches, as you did, only to find it in many parishes. There are still conservative parishes, it's just to find them now.
The church, Dutch Reformed church in South Africa, of which I am a member, went along the same path of liberalism and decided last month that same sex "marriages" are okay in the church. Gays are allowed to be pastors. Women pastors were introduced a couple of years ago. The result is people leaving the church.
I have been attending the independent evangelical church since I had to leave the Church of England because of liberalism. However, it increasingly seems rather like having a packet of crisps over and against the rich banquet of traditional Anglican worship.
I attend a Baptist church that does verse by verse preaching / teaching, through chapters of the Bible. It’s very hard to find a solid church but thankfully my husband and I finally found one about 5 years ago.
The Bible is pretty clear - ANYONE who practices sexual immorality, whether SAME sex or OPPOSITE sex, will NOT gain eternal life. "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites." (1 Corinthians 6:9 - NKJV) Verse 10 adds to the list: sexually immoral people aren't being "victimised."
Surely the leaders of the C of E must know that, by going against scripture and doing what God abhors, this will be the end of it. The worldwide Anglican communion has ceased to recognise Welby as their head because of this nonsense, a large amount of parishioners are leaving together with their financial gifts, yet still the leaders push on with this ungodly agenda. God will not bless sin for He is holy and the prayers designed for these occasions will be in vain.

Its sad, I watch many people on these so called marches for peace and a ceasefire in Gaza (despite neither parties asking for such other than perhaps for aid in this sad regional conflict) and yet they appear ignorant as to the evil Islamist people that Hamas are and indeed what Islam says about Israel. Islamists and others in the UK, seek to garner sympathy and support and use propaganda for what really amounts to the eradication of Israel. Isl am flexes its muscles in the UK.However people join in not knowing this and it appears on the surface as a noble cause. Only God knows why this one cause is so important in the UK to cause this whilst other conflicts pass by with little attention. I wonder why that might be!! Anyway, people are ignorant. I have never been homophobic and as a priest have had gay people within church attend and have a ministry with no issues. I can accept people of the same sex can have a loving and caring relationship and a formal recognition of this was found in a civil partnership. However, that was quickly surpassed by same sex civil marriage and then some church denominations that I do not recognise as marriage in any sense of traditional Christian holy matrimony. A step to far. So as with woman priests that soon became woman bishops (any bets for a woman archbishop?) I am sure any same sex blessings that some clergy will to be sure make like a quasi wedding, will very soon become same sex marriage in C of E churches and those that do not go along with such seen as unkind and rather horrid. If only it were that simple. It's hard to see that the ordination of woman has been the great success people thought as as for bishops, well not for me. However, I may say that about most bishops. With the blessing of same sex marriages we break with church tradition of many centuries and the teachings of scripture. Once this is done, you are very soon left with nothing. I feel sad as I worked with gay people very well and yet this development places an obstacle in the way that I am sure never existed before. Many will feel similar. It may seem like a small issue but its far larger and will mark yet another potentially huge split and more decline. It is apostate. God will not bless such a church and there is plenty of evidence to back this up from the USA to other denominations in the UK that are virtually dead. I wonder what Muslims in the UK that grow ever larger in number will think of such? I think we need more Free Church of England plants and certainly some south of London. So we all want to be nice and kind we all know of course and we can be and we can, but but we need to also recognise that sometimes things are different. Not all things are the same. Some feel that accepting differences is somehow so terrible but for why? This is how life is. Marriage as tradition and scripture make clear is between two people of the opposite sex (and there are only two sexes) . It's a sad time for the C of E and many will feel in the past, now and future, betrayed by some misguided (and clearly not led by the Holy Spirit as several bishops maintain) clergy and laity. However a remnant will grow and a loving and kind one that accepts and welcomes all (including gay people) but sticks faithful to God's word and Christian tradition rather than woke ideas and fickle popular culture. Thank you Fr Brett for your words. There is another alternative worth exploring by those who disagree with the current state of the Church of England. That is the possibility of a third (non-geographical) Province of the CofE. This would provide a home for bible believing Anglicans, mainly conservative Evangelicals and traditional Anglo-Catholics but also 'middle-of-the-road' members with biblical beliefs. It would have its own Archbishop and bishops. The exact structure would need to be worked out, but I think that this, or something similar, is worth staying and fighting for. The remnants of the provinces of Canterbury and York could continue to shrink in membership and the new province concentrate on mission and growth rather than constantly having to fight the liberals.
As long as whatever structure you can think of is part of the CoE, it will fall to innovation. Look at the number of GAFCON churches that have danced around Women Bishops and other clergy, despite supposedly having a moratorium. Eventually, all GAFCON churches will be told to honor local rule and then accept visiting clergy, and then it will come to spread. I hope FCE walks away from GAFCON beforr it is too late, because it seems to be traditional orthodox ,church. In England, you also have the option of thebAnglican Catholic Church Diocese of the UK.

I thought I had lost my faith, but I now Realise I have lost my faith in the church. But were I live I am unable to attend any other church. The Lord be with you, I love hearing you say that.
So well explained. The faithful Anglican churches will always have friends within the FIEC. We the Bible believing and still salty assorted range of churches are together the remnant of the Universal Church in the UK.
I went to an anglican church many years ago and I was appalled to find that that a couple of young men in that parish were homosexual. I saw this expressed in that churche's social life. In the end one of those young men died. The priest there didnt seem to mind. He seemed to encourage awful behaviour in the social life. I left. It was a high church. But not much holiness.
I realise now looking back that our old church in Tempe, Arizona was a hotbed for satanists, lead by such. Finally, the head pastor left to join Franklin Graham´s "samaritans purse" only to come back and found a different church nearby. Churches are a lucrative business opportunity for slick con men.
I am appalled by the delusion that still exists in the Church of England. The Lord is with you and I pray that the Lord will continue to use your cod casts to His glory Brett.
The Catholic Church has extended an invitation to Anglican priests. I don’t know all the details, but from what I understand, the priests can remain married, keep their own church building and their same congregation.
We have two ex-anglican married priests in our Catholic parish and it works very well. But they had to leave their anglican churches and congregations. Unfortunately a similar battle is being fought in the RCC but, God willing, the doctrine on this issue will not be changed.
The same thing is slowly happening in the Catholic church. The pope finally pushed back to the German bishops about the ordination of women, but he has said blessing same sex unions, baptizing transgenders and having them as godparents is all possible. This video reminded me very much of what is also hitting the RCC and this current pope is advocating it. It is a much bigger institution, so it is taking longer, but it looks like a parallel situation.
@@SuperTonydd Looks like it has. The Vatican document is released and blessing of same sex couples and other irregular couples is now officially sanctioned by the pope. Thank you Brother Brett. I am no longer an Anglican, after ministering within the Church for 16 years
He said:
_"For every creation there has to be a creator."_
Looking back later on I realised he was being led by holy spirit because God knew it was the only subject that would get a positive response from me.

@@chriswatkin5476divorce has always been accepted. You can’t escape history.
He then gets married in his church with his future wife already pregnant by a few months. Nothing is said. Not one word of judgement. But when it comes to two men, or two women wanting to commit then suddenly it's a huge problem. This is the problem you get with moralism. It makes hypocrites. It is a reason people don't respect the church.

Jesus said "by your traditions you nullify the word of God, and make it of no effect." Amen. Ignore one word of God, add a little leaven, and Satan enters and joins the "church". He attacks from within the building not from without it.

Yes since Jesus conquered death He is all that matters in this life and for eternity.
God bless you❤
As a Catholic I fear that all of this is coming our way too barring the intervention of some strong and resolute prophetic voices.

The beginning of the end for the Church of England
I considered leaving the Anglo - Catholic faith after 1993 after the ordaining of woman I knew this was not going to stop, not just about Woman being ordained but I didn't know what. but when I moved to the Midlands I searched for an orthodox church. Found it & found that I had come Home. I became Orthodox in 2011, it was hard to separate myself. From Anglicanism but I did it & went to the Orthodox church regularly.
We just joined AMiE. This video hits the nail on the head. You’ve got to call a spade a spade at some point.
Great picture of taking away the building blocks of the church
Hi Brett, my husband and I are in Wellington, NZ. We too have left as there is nowhere to go here. Except if you live in Christchurch. So we now are Catholics, but even they are moving in tge wrong direction as well. And most of the congregation we attended are for it. So we are lost to where to go.
I'm so sorry 😢
I think it might be more accurate to say the 'church' is leaving!
Preach it brother…..
Amen
I have been attending the independent evangelical church since I had to leave the Church of England because of liberalism. However, it increasingly seems rather like having a packet of crisps over and against the rich banquet of traditional Anglican worship.
Try to attend an Orthodox Divine Liturgy ☦️🕊️🙏🏻
Find a verse by verse Calvary Chapel may be one in your area. Some are still solid. Ours in Cleveland Ohio is.
I’m sure!
I attend a Baptist church that does verse by verse preaching / teaching, through chapters of the Bible. It’s very hard to find a solid church but thankfully my husband and I finally found one about 5 years ago.
is it better support for homophobics there?

That was lovely. I resigned as a Methodist minister back in 1981 over its unbiblical practice of infant baptism.
What are unbiblical practices of infant baptism? As far as I know, Anglicans also practice infant baptism, as Catholics do and believe baptism is salvific.
Good for you. Revelation 18.4
RIP CofE Thanks Archbishops of Canterbury and York for such a legacy.
Islam is the brainchild of Judaism, which is kabbalah.
Look up for our redemption draws nigh.
Many will look up expecting redemption but will only face judgement (Matthew 7:21-23)
@@TheRealPureBlood Everyone faces judgment. And that judgment is in life as well something that happens at the end of times.
Redemption though happened with the sacrifice.
The passage in Luke refers to the ongoing experience of redemption, looking up as a sign. It's like a shibboleth

God save the church of England. To be honest, I am not surprised sadly. My church is still fine, but I don't see myself remaining in the ACNA for much longer.
I think we should pray "God save the church IN England".
I suspect those in power will never let the third province happen!
