Everyone is talking about it. I still don't understand how international students still going there and burning 100k $ to get a masters and then say they could work for free. this is mind boggling.

@@ShomitChotia...only Indians...they still have to compete with their COUSINS in their families and their own generation, too. Chinese spend...but very carefully....Chinese do get the jobs...their own community gives their heart out to help their brethern. Many go back too. China is far more DEVELOPED than India. I understand it is a BITTER pill for an Indian to swallow. On the other hand, Indians who are already established in West, does not promote their community to PREVENT DESI COMPETETION.
These guys who are speaking may have knowledge but from their video presentation ( after 35 years experience in North America) they are HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL and UN EMPLOYABLE. Typical desperate Indians who have no clue of the corporate world.

The recession is currently the "most likely outcome for the economy and I cannot imagine being a victim of circumstances," with inflation at a four-decade high. My portfolio took a serious hit, and it won't get any better. This red season, I've heard of folks netting hundreds of thousands. How can I make sure of that?

I believe the safest method is to diversify investments. They can mitigate the effects of a market crisis by diversifying their investments across asset types such as bonds, real estate, and international equities. It is necessary to seek the advice of an expert.

It's true that many people underestimate the importance of advisers until their own feelings burn them out. A few summers ago, following an ongoing divorce, I needed a significant push to keep my company afloat. I looked for licensed advisors and found someone with outstanding qualifications. She has contributed to my reserve increasing from $275k to $850k regardless of inflation.

This is the right attitude. Just bcos you have a Masters in STEM doesn't mean the corporate world owes you a job. At times you must be ready to take a pay cut. Adapt to the market dynamics is all we can say. 2008 recession was far worse than this. But much worser problem for the immigrants now is their work permit renewals, GC queue, H1B filing and their student debts back home on top of the sluggish job market.

Investing on yourself throughout your 20's should be an excellent advice rather than the mindset that you never created a dollar out of your education. What else are you gonna do the rest of your life after 20's anyway if not for earning. You might not be so intellectually capable once you age, especially for engineers. (P.S. When these recruiters hear "Jack of All Trades", they say "This guy looks like an imposter/ This guy is not seriously committed to his career." And even if you cross that threshold, they ask you questions like, "Are you Christian?".

I don't understand you come to the us, you pay 35k tuition+ 25k living expenses for at least 1.5 years (90k $ total) to complete your master then work for free ? You could have used 100k $ to start you own business in India.

In the US on OPT or H1-B visa you are supposed to get payed more than the average American in your job position. Otherwise you won't be issued the visa. Even if you accept it, you can't work for free legally in the US.

Friends, a quick heads up, you cannot work for free on H1B as far as my experience with recruiting in thr U.S.
A lot of startups fail and i have friends who went under debt while working for free for a start up.
I appreciate the energy and the sentiment in this video but please remember that you would have to pay rent, buy food, anf handle other expenses while you work for free for a startup.
Good luck Harnoor and Mr. Vairagade!
