Sure glad I found your channel. I grew up on a farm and then at 16 I moved the the big city. Had a couple of small jobs till the age of 24 and then got hired on the railway where I found my love in life driving trucks and tractor trailers and the last ten years on heavy equipment loading and unloading overseas containers. So what you do is what I enjoy watching.
Great videos bud and great equipment, Im a New Holland dealer and we also prefer the Kuhns accumulator as well. That T5.120 is a great tractor !!! Excellent production and clarity on the baling process, really enjoy your videos.
Great videos by the way i left that out of my lengthy comment below lol. We have always ran New Holland tractors and balers since i was 13yrs old i get to celebrate turning 40 in a few months. We really like their products and our dealership is AWESOME that really helps. There is one 15 miles from the farm but i drive 43 miles to the one we have used for yrs.
Its been raining every 3rd day here in ohio. Your right about the quality. I noticed ours has grown a lot in the last week but the quality is really starting to go the other way. Those accumulators are the best setup for least manual labor if you got a barn to accommodate the unloading. That's sure some nice looking equipment you have. Thanks for the videos. Ireally enjoy them
+Johndeere5065. It has rained every day here for almost a week, our hay isn't hurting yet but there isn't any hay weather in the forecast. I'm glad you enjoy the videos! Thanks for watching!
I really like your videos I subscribed a couple days ago and watched several videos since. I put you on my favorite list can't wait till next one is out keep it up
+Scotty Wells. Thanks Scotty! I'm working on another one as I have time. Hope to have it up soon! Thanks for subscribing! It's not hay though, it's rained everyday since I baled hay last!
you have a really nice rig there. we had two small balers and I sold them nobody wanted to help unload bales but the way you have it set up I could have maybe made it work. hope you have a great day talk to you later
+colescreekfarms. Thank you very much! Glad you found my channel. I have more hay videos in the works. I've been so busy my videos are way behind whats going on currently. Lol Another words I'm showing videos from the beginning of the month now, and what I'm filming now won't be out for a while.
That's a nice baler i use an old 311 and i can't go much faster than a normal walking pace but i rarely bale more than 250 or 300 square bales i hate hauling the darn things. I enjoy baling hay also, i mostly round bale everything. I bet your timing issue was the problem with your baler missing ties. My old 311 does fine but i had a 658 New Holland round baler that had a set of clutches on the drive sprocket on the left hand side it only had the one little short chain but those clutches would slip no matter how much i adjusted them just a three bolt setup. The dealer said the new series of balers don't have the clutches and suggested i drill through the clutches and put a hardened bolt through them. It worked flawlessly after that well it correcting my problem with it not wanting to start the core and the twine was belt driven so it would mess that up also.
Talking about sisal twine, I just had a problem the other day with using old sisal. It got down to about 1/4 twine left and it all came out in one lump. It then jammed up and lost the twine out of the needle.
+PA Farms. Yeah, I probably won't ever go back to sisal twine on square bales. I'm using the Agco brand 7000 plastic twine and I really like it. I've also figured out I can cram 2 extra balls of it in the box because they are a little smaller.
Can you show in a video what it is that trips the accumulator to dump? I have watched a lot of your videos and can't seem to figure it out. Thanks for all the video's, I really enjoy watching the square bailer and listening to your stories.
that was awsome i could do that all day also. but we cant we need the dew to bale or all the leaves go away. love your set up. my brother has a stacker wagon so i pay him to stack . that is some nice looking hay, it is better to sell to horse nuts woops did i say that.if it is cut early i try to also. did you ever think of trying a heston baler easier to get around. they look like they are cheaply made but they work good.i bought a used one had it 2 years has been good for me, and ive had 3 New Hollands before that.i think New Holland still makes the best baler but for eaze of use is great.loved the shots that you had of the acumuator you showed how it worked good hope you didnt run out of twine, i would put money on the timing is what the any problems you had the timing is very important, sisle should of worked better i would think.
+Howard Younger. Wow that's an awesome comment, I've been selling most all my hay to one woman that has a bording house down in NC for about 6 or 7 years now, she is great to work with. I thought about the hesston/ Massey style baler but went with new holland since I knew what I would be getting, baled with a 315 hayliner for years. I didn't run out of twine thankfully! I think the sisal may have just been so old it was getting rotten.
+AndersonCattleCo. It did turn out really good. I sold a couple bales to a woman to feed rabbits, she said they eat every crumb of it. Horses love it too! Its really soft for first cutting hay. Thanks for the comment!
I may start baling some squares next year, but the accumulator is a must, will the grapple pick up the hay pads from either direction? How much investment would it be to get a accumulator and grapple like yours? And finally, do you think there is a batter accumulator system out there? Thanks, loved the video!
Yes you can pick up the bales from two different directions, your investment would be around 15,000 for the accumulator and grapple. There is not a better system out there for that kind of money.
And the guy I bought it from it was his brother that came up with the idea and patented it. It was really neat talking with him about it really nice people
+Josh Fanter. Great let me know how it goes. You may have to adjust this or that a little when you use it for the first time. Also it will take a few bales going down it to get it slicked up really good.
Eden N C I went to Morehead High gated it, quit got my GED joined army was in 4 yrs, wrecked my motorcycle was retired out, but had spent 2 yrs at Ft Sam Houston and fell in love with TX went to college at A & M got my degree then teaching certificate and taught for 23 yrs. Now I'm retired and raise chickens for eggs and fun. I watch youtube farm videos for fun now! Y'all are interesting.
it looks to me like all your equipment is brand new and was wondering is it hard to find someone willing to come do this kind of work because its seasonal or just no one around needing work ?
+freebird1ification. Well all my equipment isn't brand new I just keep it looking nice. I've been buying new stuff here and there but I've done it over the past several years. As far as finding people to work, i would only need help maybe 10 time a year and it would be very labor intensive, nobody wants a job like that not even me, and if you did find someone that's willing to help when you call they always have something else to do. That's why I invested in the equipment to do it, it never gets tired and it's always there when I need it and I don't have to pay it anymore after it's paid for.
very good to attend to the eqiupment before it gets in to bad of shape for sure lol i know what you mean about the labor nowdays its hard to find anyone willing to do it the right way lol yall take care now
Yo at 0:45 on the video I heard a little kid make a weird noise. Or is it inside the tractor? That was creepy. A little boy sounded like he was whining 😦
@@DLHFarms yeah I'm wondering about going down the hill if it itll mess it up and going across the hill if itll mess with it. I'm looking at buying one this fall.
+Eric Jansen. There isn't a market for big square bales in my area, but there is a market for small bales and there is decent money in them if you can do it without a lot of labor expense. I have several videos showing it working from different angles check them out!
+Steve Earp. Good question! I'm growing hay to sell to the public, I don't have any livestock of my own. Most people that have a horse or two or even 10 don't have the equipment to handle large round bales. Also a lot of people like to feed thier horses in a stable which would be hard to do with round hay. Secondly as long as you have the right equipment to handle square bales and don't have to hire a lot of help, there is a larger profit margin. Of course getting up small squares is a lot more work than round even with the right equipment.
+Case5130 Jcb 526s. Your right it is difficult to pull on the road, because of the width not the length, the accumulator is offset to the left of the baler about 3 to 4 feet. I have considered making another hitch on the center of the baler to hook it to for road travel. They say if you use an inline baler it's a non issue.
+paoutdoorsman. A 20 would be better but they work good once I figured out how to stack them where they will stay. I use gooseneck trailers a lot they work really well with my set up
Any tips for stacking? I have 5 18' kicker wagons currently but want to move to an accumulator/grapple setup. If I can drop the sides off my kicker wagons, that is a cost I could avoid. I do have a 20' and 24' gooseneck trailer as well, but wagons would be easier in my fields.
+paoutdoorsman. I have a couple videos on stacking the hay, one has hay loading tips in the title. I need to measure my wagons they may be 20 foot now that i think about it.
+Indiana Row Crop. She "boards" horses for people that don't have a place to keep them and charges good money to do it. It's like a horse motel. Think about people that live in a town where would they keep a horse if they have one? At the horse boarding house. Or I guess you could call it a boarding barn maybe.
I really like that bale accumulater lol. Do u sell the hay to ur uncle who has cattle? Nice camera angles. I know what u mean about clouds and baler both showin up to the field lol
+Jake Ziegler. No, I sell it to people that have horses, I sell my rolls to cattlemen that don't produce thier own hay or can't produce enough hay own thier own. Thanks for watching Jake!

+bear24D. Thanks bear. I like my T5 but something has happened to the engine, dealer says the bushing came out of the internal balancer.
I ve watched your 2017 bailing videos ! I like your different angles of video! Thanks for sharing!
+ScottyRockTrains. Thanks for watching Scotty glad you liked them!
great vid, keep them coming.
your videos are getting a lot better the more you make them.

That accumulator works great.
Nice to see equipment that is all mechanical.
+Chuck Stevenson. I really like my accumulator and the updates I did just make it that much better!
You get some really good shots .... Im very impressed. That accumulator looks to works slick

Not a farmer and was wondering how does that thing on the front of the tractor pick up those square bales 6 at a time?
+Tom's Corner. It picks up 10 at a time find my video called loading hay with loader supension.
I just got a kuhns 10 bale on edge gonna try it out tomorrow
And the guy I bought it from it was his brother that came up with the idea and patented it. It was really neat talking with him about it really nice people

+freebird1ification. Yep! That's why I try to do it myself and use family for help if they can. Works good for me. Thanks for the good comments!
Nice set up there! What does the accumulator run $$ wise?
+2cylinderfarmer. I paid 10,000 for the accumulator and 3500 for the grapple but I have heard that they have went up.
Dealing on one right now $12200.00 plus$ 3900.00 for the grapple
And that is for the 10 pack set up also
Yo at 0:45 on the video I heard a little kid make a weird noise. Or is it inside the tractor? That was creepy. A little boy sounded like he was whining 😦
That was the transmission on the tractor downshifting. Transmission on that thing was always noisy.
How does that accumulator work on hills? Does going up and down hills mess with the gates or going across the hill?
It works pretty good on hills not perfect but I'm not going to complain it still saves so much work.
@@DLHFarms yeah I'm wondering about going down the hill if it itll mess it up and going across the hill if itll mess with it. I'm looking at buying one this fall.
It can but it's not to bad. I do some steep hills.
nice video of the accumulator, i never saw how it's work's... why are you making little square bales and not big ones?
+Eric Jansen. There isn't a market for big square bales in my area, but there is a market for small bales and there is decent money in them if you can do it without a lot of labor expense. I have several videos showing it working from different angles check them out!
DLH Farms i saw the video of the modifi.... good explaning you did thank you
+Eric Jansen. No problem! Your welcome!
another great video. good luck getting the rest up dry
+DLK HAY. No kidding, rain rain rain, that's all it's done since the day after I baled this, can't even mow a lawn!
We are expecting up to 3" here today and the wind is supposed to blow up to 55MPH
+DLK HAY. That should knock down some hay!
You ok there friend? Hope all is well!
+ScottyRockTrains. Yes sir, I have just been busy, I have been working on some new videos today hopefully they will be up soon, thanks for asking!
Ok was glad to hear y'all ok ! I understand busy . Work your 8 to 5 then farm
+ScottyRockTrains. I work from 7 til when we get done, lol
That's ok I like any videos with equipment operating
Nice activity, like the NH baler
+Jan Kotze. I like it too Jan it does a good job!
Enjoyed another video.
Great!

Looking good!
+Hay Map - Buy & Sell Hay. Thanks!
how many snakes have you bailed up
+David Gaylord. As far as I know I've only baled one In the 10 or so years I've been doing this.
i baled alot of small bales, its the best work in the world :)
+john strapon. As long as the weather is good I really enjoy it! If rain is coming it can be extremely stressful!
what state do you Farm in. it looks absolutely beautiful
+Pete Meyer. I'm in Meadows of Dan, Virginia
DLH Farms is that on the Eastern shore?
+Pete Meyer. No, it's the south Western part of Virginia
DLH Farms I'll have to stop by and check out your operation if I'm down that way. I love your videos. great job.
+Pete Meyer. Sounds good! Glad your liking the videos!
How many acres do you farm total?
+Lucas Makk. Around one hundred. It's enough for me doing it by myself and working a full time job. All I do is hay, no livestock.
Who Doyou warking video
must be hard to drive on the road
+Case5130 Jcb 526s. Your right it is difficult to pull on the road, because of the width not the length, the accumulator is offset to the left of the baler about 3 to 4 feet. I have considered making another hitch on the center of the baler to hook it to for road travel. They say if you use an inline baler it's a non issue.
Nice job on the video, just subscribed! Really cool accumulator too man!
+Denny's Country Life. Thanks, welcome aboard, hope you like tractors and equipment!
Yes sir, I'm a hay guy myself. I could watch this stuff all day long! Have a good one
Good One
Is that an 18 foot wagon?
+paoutdoorsman. Yep I have two of them, wish I had two more.
Do you find them to be long enough for 3 bale packs, or would a 19 or 20 foot provide any advantage?
+paoutdoorsman. A 20 would be better but they work good once I figured out how to stack them where they will stay. I use gooseneck trailers a lot they work really well with my set up

+paoutdoorsman. I have a couple videos on stacking the hay, one has hay loading tips in the title. I need to measure my wagons they may be 20 foot now that i think about it.
too bad you don't have one of those automatic pickups loads a whole trailer full and stacks them in the hay shed
+David Gaylord. That would be nice but they just won't work around here on our steep land, the bales fall over in them.
Who do you mostly sell your hay to?
+Indiana Row Crop. Square hay goes to a boarding house in NC and the round hay goes to a local beef Farmer.
Boarding house? Please explain.
+Indiana Row Crop. She "boards" horses for people that don't have a place to keep them and charges good money to do it. It's like a horse motel. Think about people that live in a town where would they keep a horse if they have one? At the horse boarding house. Or I guess you could call it a boarding barn maybe.
Oh ok I see. I was just wondering how you get rid of all them square bales of hay
+Indiana Row Crop. It's not any problem to get rid of them, wish I had more.
Do like pulling a barn around the field...
+Terry Stearns. Lol
keep the videos coming
+peanut Smith. Will do, been busy here lately but I have one I'm working on. Hasn't been any hay weather though rain rain rain!
DLH Farms I no how that is I weld for a living it's been ruff weather in South Alabama trying to raise a family with all the weather the way it is
+peanut Smith. Yep we do grading so I know what you mean!
More pounds of energy pre square foot.
