What I learnt watching these travel vids of Sri Lanka during quarantine is that, even though I'm a Sri Lankan living in Sri Lanka, I haven't visit Sri Lanka yet.

Well.... sri lanka has no domestic cases of corona for 16 days (all the cases were reported from people who came from abroad) and the borders are open. So you're welcome to come here
Sri Lanka is one of my top destinations to visit. I have been to Sri Lanka three times and never been disappointed. People are so friendly and helpful. Being a history nerd I loved those ancient cities. Those sandy beaches are to die for. Looking forward to visit again!
I'm Sri Lankan And yes the people are super friendly and chill over here But I would strictly advice you not to hop on to the back of the pick up truck of a random dude that comes up with a business card. Also there's a few scammers and tuk fellows whod be waiting to cheat out your cash so be careful

@@Noahvde That's because you guys used cheap ass transport. By the way is subsidised by the Govnt. So every tourist that uses buses and cheap trains are taking from the Sri Lankan people rather than adding value. Next time rent a car .... with a driver.

Even though I am Sri Lanka I bought your guide. It's very useful. I went with my adult sons and they too enjoyed Sri Lanka. Only one bus journey was a bit busy and sardine packed. I didn't have a problem but my 19 year old was a little to posh to be squashed. There was also a funny moment when my cash kept popping out of my pockets and I was told off by a gentleman who ,quite rightly, was critical of me.

I would recommend Galle, when you are there next time, I lived there when I was little and used to go to a place called Galle fort, really nice historic area. Very scenic and good for tourists

Good stuff. The south coast is a good destination for beaches from Oct to Feb; The east cost during our (Jun to Sept) summer months. It is to do with the two monsoon seasons: The south-western monsoon brings rain to the south-west of Sri Lanka between May and September, while the dry season in this region runs from December to March. In the north and eastern coastal regions of the country, the weather is influenced by the north-eastern monsoon, which brings wind and rain between October and January, and drier weather between May and September.
