Because the concept functions the other way around. So if Yehoshua was who they said he was, he should have known that.
If you also do not know that and why, it functions in reverse, you can't teach others about it.

I stopped reading the Bible 30 years ago. "A Course in Miracles" taught me "God" is in all and unfolds to us in the "now" moment not in ancient man made texts. I studied the Bible as a young man (even did lay preaching) after studying ACIM I woke up to the differences between a living God and a man made God. God is in all and presents as love energy. The Bible is a thinly sliced piece of wood with ink on each slices. And holds no more power than that. God unfolds in the now moment. And the "Now" moment holds everything we ever need to know about "God". We just need to tune into that and let it flow.
I also gave up reading ACIM ... once read I didnt need to re hash the ideas over and again like some kind of security blanket. Thats how religions start.

As a biblical scholar i lean more towards Christianity being more Greek mystery religion than anything else. My specialty is comparative mythology and many of the nt accounts are textbook mystery school mythology. Dr Richard carrier has some great explanations of such if you're interested but regarding the NT you're very correct it's not written by the apostles. Most scholars myself included agree that the only thing in the NT actually written by who it's attributed to are pauls letters. Not all only 7 of the 13. Everything else is pseudopigrapha. Those 7 authentic letters were written aprox 55 ad and assuming that Jesus dies in 33 ad that's over 20 years after his death .. next is mark at 70 ad mat and Luke around 85ad and John about 100.. that's usuallythe first thing i try to get people to understand. . That paul came first and was the jump off point for everything else.. the man who never met Jesus and if we are to take things at face value got all his very detailed christology (the whole plan and rules for salvation, abolishing the law etc) from a spirit he encountered on several occasions. It's quite a rabbit hole but otherwise great video. Most people don't know or won't admit that the gospels weren't written by actual apostles

The church majors in legalism, fear and generally nothing, while ignoring love one another. The simple truth needs no endless volumes of do or don't do. Love = Do no harm. That's all of it in a nutshell. Today's christians need to reexamine themselves, especially in their current politics of hate, and threats. Love and Peace to you, Bro John, and all.

This is why I like the Ageless Wisdom Teachings given through Alice Bailey, the amanuensis for the spiritual Master Djwhal Khul Who serves the Christ. They are the spiritual teachings for MODERN TIMES in eighteen books, on a large number of topics. One of these of these is, 'The Reappearance of the Christ' . Christians and others may be also interested in a book, one of six written solely by Alice Bailey, about the life of Jesus who was embodied by Christ for His spiritual mission of three years. It is entitled, 'From Bethlehem To Calvary' -- The Initiations of Jesus. An excellent introduction to the Ageless Wisdom Teachings is, 'Ponder On This', a compilation on 185 specific topics from all the books, of 431 pages. It's a gem ! I have studied these teachings for 35 years and cannot fault them.

Yes, the name Matthew (or Mattityahu in Hebrew) was indeed a common name in ancient Israel. It comes from the Hebrew name Matityahu, meaning "gift of Yahweh" or "gift of God." In the time of Jesus, Hebrew and Aramaic names with similar meanings were widespread, especially among Jewish men.
Many names in this period reflected a religious connection or reference to God, and Matityahu was no exception. In the New Testament, the name Matthew is given to the tax collector who becomes one of Jesus’ apostles. This name would not have been unusual or particularly distinctive for the time and region.

Hello John of New, thanks for the insight on the Bible writings. Maybe you could answer some of my questions about Genesis. I'm a man that did not grow up in the church but have read and heard of some of it to try to understand for myself. So I'm now a 59 year old man and studied quite a bit on Genesis but still have seen my things that seem conveniently overlooked repeatedly. Lets start with In the Beginning. This is supposedly a creation story but I noticed that water was never created. It was separated or hovered above but not created. The writer seems to be describing a re- creation story or a starting over story after a cataclysm or something. Then Genesis 1:26 (NIV) Let US make human beings look like us-in the image and likeness of ourselves. Who is this "US" and
"OURSELVES" this is clearly plural selves and it happens more. Genesis 3:22 and Yahweh Elohim said, see the human has become like one of us. So one of who? And now we got some Yahweh and or Elohim. Elohim is a plural. Yahweh must be a member of some sort of sky council. Same in Genesis 11:7 Yahweh says, come let us go down and confuse their language. Genesis 4:14 talking about Cain. "I will become a restless wanderer on the earth and whoever finds me will kill me" Who are these other people outside the garden who are going to kill Cain if they meet him? Genesis 6 1-4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days- and also afterwards. The flood destroyed all living creatures....how do these giants reappear after the flood? And then we have them taking human wives and having children. What? Sons of God (benei Elohim) What is so different about their DNA that produces giants? Genesis 20:13 The Elohim caused me to wander from my father's house.... If Elohim is supposed to be a general name for a god or a proper name for the one true God (Yahweh) why all the plural attributes and verb forms? One more odd thing is that I skipped was Genesis 2: 10-14. It talks about Edens rivers and minerals. Strange that if Eden provided everything needed the why is the writer talking about gold and onyx? How is this even relevant? They don't need to buy anything except for maybe a good lawyer for Cain. lol....last one for now let's take the snake. Genesis 3:1 who is this that speaks the language? He is a significant player but arrives with no introduction or explanation. He is not the Almighty and he is not human. Did I miss something? I don't think so and its the very first verse of the Bible "In the
beginning" Seems that what is being taught is not in alignment with the story. I'm sure many people and preachers have noticed these things but don't question ⁉️ Just in my opinion it seems that the big picture here is that this is a colonization story. Many Gods of many lands kinda thing in bits and pieces. And to top it off this Yahweh doesn't sound like a mighty all knowing, all powerful God that is loving. This writing seems full of airbrushed text. I guess books written by men are written for men. Do you think many are living under a false paradigm? I believe we are all eternal aspects
of God like them or not. Maybe you could research this and do a video on your angle. Thanks, Larry 😊

Mauro Biglino is an expert of the ancient Hebrew language and confirms that the Elohim are pleural with El-Elyon being the leader of the Elohim, and many other names of Elohim who ruled over certain terriroties and tribes at that time and mentioned in the Bible including Moloch, Ashtar, Chemosh (god of Moab and the Moabites), Yahweh (who was assigned the Israelites and fought the other Elohim to take their territory). Mauro Biglino and Paul Wallis believe the Elohim were power-hungry aliens who invaded Earth. However, there are others who believe the Elohim were more benevolent than what Paul Wallis portrays, considering the OT might just be mythology.

It's true that there's many different ways to perceive and use the word love. For example I can say I love cookies. There's also the love of a mother for her child. There are various Greek words like Eros for romantic love. Philos for brotherly love and affection. Agape love for divine unconditional love. This divine love is like a sun that simply radiates on everything without judgement because it's the nature of the sun to radiate. There are also aspects of love like appreciation and thankfulness, respect, kindness, peace, etc. Since there's so many different ways to perceive love, it might be helpful to use the word Benevolence which is the opposite of malevolence. Many who perceive the word love as something painful because of past trauma and disappointments might find it easier to focus on appreciation and considering what they can be thankful for because gratitude is an aspect of love. And if you put your hand over your heart and imagine radiating peace and/or appreciation like a sun, then you can feel the energy of love radiating from your chest.

Old Adam and Old Eve mortal humans can't love their enemies. They can try and some do well, but until Old Adam and Old Eve become New Adam and New Eve, and that's something only God does, we can't do it to ourselves, in reality, Old Adams and Old Eves can't love their enemies.
Love your enemy is only possible by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. All other attempts to love ones enemy is human effort, human striving, and it's simply not enough.
God knew well what He was doing when He gave us an impossible command to obey. He made it very clear the difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament.
Old Testament Believers (Israelites and Judeo Christians) are not New Testament Christians.
New Testament Christians can love their enemies and this is why NT Christians mustn't vote, lobby, protest, go into politics, join militaries, defend borders.
This doesn't apply to Judeo Christians and so they must defend Christendom (the West) by voting, lobbying, protesting, going into politics, joining militaries and defending national borders.
The former, New Testament Christians, is a very small group of people, often known as "a remnant," whereas the latter, Judeo Christians, is acmuch larger group, and quite numerous.
NT Christians are the Body of Christ.
Judeo Christians are the Bride of Christ.
The difference is important to God so it must be important to all His people, these being, the Spirit-led New Testament Christians and the Knowlege-led Judeo Christians.

John , I am pleased with everything you said and in my opinion very accurate although some might feel uncomfortable with it. The world appears to be becoming more spiritual and less religious, realising that while there are truths in most religions there is also a lot of editing for control, especially that of women. This is why the bible as an example is confusing and contradictory to many. I could never understand why the Abrahamic god of the Old Testament was vengeful, spiteful and took sides. Even though being bought up as Christian from a young age I always felt that Yeshua was an ascended master and yes he was the son of god as we are also. He taught us who we really are and why we are here but I never recognised a lot of how the bible represented him. I fully respect that many need their religion to experience their life here as part of their path, but always find it uncomfortable when these people believe that their way is the only way.

@ I didn’t know that, although there is a lot of terminology we use which really is inadequate to describe what I would describe as beings that have incarnated from a higher vibrational plane for a specific purpose. Maybe descended master might equally be appropriate… :O). A lot of labels , messiah, prophets, star seeds etc… Many of which quietly appear on this physical plane and leave it equally unnoticed by the masses.

@@johnofnew Have you studied Theosophy ? It is not 'dogma' and not 'created' by the Theosophical Society. As to the 'new age', that is the coming new era, of which we are on the cusp, to be ushered in on earth by the second coming/reappearance of Christ. It not to be confused with some of the pseudo practises which have aligned to it. I am and have been a student of the Ageless Wisdom Teachings, through Alice Bailey, for 35 years. I cannot fault them.. They are a 'modernised' theosophy. The Ascended Masters are those who have gone before/ahead of us on our spiritual journey, and have moved up on the hierarchical ladder of spiritual initiation and out of physical incarnation Christ (not Jesus Who Christ embodied for His three year spiritual mission on earth) is the Master of Masters. ( Master Jesus heads the sixth ray/radiation of energy) Christ was and is the first and fastest of humanity to attain the highest level of spirituality on this planet, through the evolutionary journey to enlightened consciousness via reincarnation. Christ, with is elder brother the Buddha ( not originally from this planet) heads the second radiation /ray/energy and aspect of the Divine, which is Love (Christ) -- Wisdom (Buddha). The Ageless Wisdom Teachings were given by a (ascended) Master on the second ray in service to Christ. That Master was Djwhal Khul aka 'The Tibetan'. Theosophy was given by other Masters.
Check out The Lucis Trust and Monadic Media on the web.
There are some groups who claim to be in service to or 'channel' the Masters. They do not act in love-wisdom and are not in soul-centered service but under the power of the little ego of personality. BEWARE of them.

The god of the Old Testament was Jehovah, an errant demi-god. Jesus is an Ascended Master, but not Christ. Christ, with the permission of Jesus, embodied Jesus for Christ's three year spiritual mission on earth. The Jews were to be led away from their god Jehovah but most refused to do so preferring to live under Law not Love. The Pharisees were influential in having Christ crucified as they considered Him a threat to their authority.

Absolutely untrue. The Bible is a compilation of text from many many many authors. It is not a univocal document written by God. It's not infallible. And can't be viewed as a single document. Especially since that document wasn't compiled until 400 years later. Bible scholars are in agreement even Genesis one and Genesis 2 are from two different source techs and are in the wrong order

Well, it may still be a record of what Jesus said handed down and remembered! That these things are written much later does not simply discredit the value of what has impressed people and been well known and is then written. We are always explaining historical events in present terms of understanding even after much time has passed. The fact that these things are recorded by society figures much later doesn't make them fake or irrelevant. They remain important and memorable through time because of that fact.@@johnofnew

The problem with this idea is that the text have been translated, manipulated, altered, edited, and were written with a messianic agenda. Modern Christians negotiate with the text to match their beliefs. It's all hearsay. As I often say, put your love goggles on and read the loving parts. The fearful stuff comes from the mind of man.

@johnofnew you are correct. It is believed, by Jewish scholars that he authored at least 5 of the letters. Also, probably 7 of them. I'm not a Christian scholar, or Jewish, but, he IS the chief liar. Example, he claims, that he was a Pharisee of Pharisees, uhm, not even remotely true. And the Pharisees did NOT order Christians to be persecuted. I don't want to get too deep, but, my comment, was not a disagreement on behalf of Christianity, it's just a fact. And, I was shunned by a church I grew up in. I won't go into that either, but I'm not a Christian, at all, I do not worship the enemy either. But I have done some very deep research to deprogram that church telling me I'm twice dead, plucked up by the roots, and ....doomed.... I can debunk the entire new testament, but I won't. I'm not saying Yeshua didn't exist, and I'm also not Muslim. But there are translation problems, prophesy citations, that just don't pan out. And I will stop right there. I do have good will toward you sir.

Whilst I am NOT a follower of YAHWEH, through my own extensive research since mid 2007 i also came to the inescapable conclusion that Judaism was the first organized monotheistic religion.
My assertion is that the celestial deity known as YAHWEH was a war God that was primarily focused on the acquisition of land and resources.
The Jews used the celestial deity as a way to spiritually contextualise their wars with other surrounding nations.
Other nations, particularly Muslims, also did exactly the same thing in their own wars.
No Jew can ever prove that YAHWEH is the divine creator.
No muslim can ever prove that ALLAH is the divine creator.
But the spiritual frameworks followed by various homosapiens around the world were simply moulded and shaped over time to fit the evolving needs of the followers.
Judaism is just as trash as Islam and Christianity.
But each of them serves a particular purpose in elevating their followers politically, economically, emotionally aswell as psychologically and spiritually - with the acquisition of land and resources being the primary target of procurement.

That was yesterday. Today they've lost 54% of their congregations over the past 20 years. People still call me a "heretic." I own the title proudly. The reason I do is because what is heresy heresy is saying something that is not of their belief. I don't believe in fear based teachings of Christianity. To stay focused on what would've been done to you in the past is not looking forward. It's not living in the present creating a beautiful world. It's focused on negativity. The bhagavad-Gita. says, "thought I thought you forged your destiny, therefore to keep your mind, focused on the positive rather than the negative is considered the austerity of the mind."

Hey John, the New Testament is very much colored by Greek thought. Jewish people believe there is only one God. Whereas Greeks believed men could become God's. For example, they believed Alexander the Great became a God. Jesus lived in a part of Judea with a large Greek population. To the Greek people who loved his message, Jeshua may have seemed like a God. Jeshua said we could all do greater acts than him. We all have the same Father.

@johnofnew I'm a history buff and used to watch any and every documentary on the ancient world. Historians believe the Philistines were a bronze age Greek tribe who settled in the Levant. Judea also had a large influx of Greek settlers after Alexander conquered that territory. They made up much of the middle class of ancient Palestine. Greek was the academic language of Palestine. Which is why the New Testament was originally written in Greek. I don't copy scholars' material. So I can't give you documentation. But I'm sure there's plenty of Historians on line you can check out for yourself.
