it kind of forgets to translate my favorite line, “prana, pana, sama yuktaha”. meditating on that line helped me lose over 50lbs (25 kilo). It means energy in, energy out, in same force / in perfect balance. As a late comer to this stuff (grew up christian/atheist in america) i find it most inspiring. God/Bramha does live in our stomachs as much as he does in our consciousness, he is as present when we pig out and diet and poop and pee as when we accomplish great things or make art or music. Still thank you for posting this, I often play it before eating rather than just chanting alone. But if possible to edit pls mention what means prana apana and sama yuktaha for the benefit of non-hindu people, because its so beautiful a concept.
I was thinking about your comment last few weeks. Mantras and Beej Mantras are very powerful if used correctly! Question: did you meditate on the mantra before and after the meals or just apart from the meals and for how long. Still meditating on it?
Can anyone explain why this one is longer than most versions I find online? Most that I see stop after brahmakarma samadhina. Sorry for any misspellings
This is combination of two slokas from Shrimad Bhagavadgeetha. In first sloka, the Lord says that what ever u take as anna / ahara do it as Yajna and offer it to the Brahmha & eat the Yajna Sesha. In second he says He is the one who exist as Vayswanara ie the fire within everybody ..... Pl check ShrimadBhagavad Geetha 4.24 and 15.14 for further details. Other sampradaya also use Anna Purne Sada Purne sloka too
Can someone tell me where did the original video go? I used to watch that every time and now I can't remember , that was brahmarpanam with lyrics and was group chanting.
Hello. What if you've said this prayer over your food plate and finish it, but you go back or for more serves? Do we need to say the prayer again over the messy plate? Also, if you have leftovers of the same meal and you serve to eat it again the next day, is it ok to say this prayer even though it is 'old food'?
You would say it only once before you eat. Not everytime you take another helping. (One simple reason for it is that you do not say prayers while you are 'dirty'. When you eat and haven't washed your mouth after, it's considered 'dirty' until then. I don't have a better word to replace it English. In Hindi it's called 'Jhoota' munh. Also once consumed the food is 'Jhoota' unless you had taken out a portion before you sat down at your table to consume later.
This prayer is you are offering the food to Brahma & later thanking him for the same.... Dirty, or jootha, or maleena never exists if you are clean or shuddh mentally..... You can repeat this mantra mentally or manasika throughout your eating..... With awareness ofcource 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The ultimate point is not to recite it like a mantra but realise and see the supreme self in every action. This practice extends to every action in life, not just eating.
Used to sing this daily when i was in schooling before the lunch period 🙏🙏. Beautiful memmories😍
