Thank you for watching! And I totally agree. I wanted to rip my hair out last season watching so many guys hesitate to shoot the 3. With Carter, I don't think we'll see him hesitate
I did and I'm happy to see it Now I'll say this about the whole Bulls development "problem" they have P-Will is a 40% three point shooter. He hasn't developed into the player we think he can be, but his 3 point shot is pretty good. Coby has developed a good shot but half of his development was under a different regime. There's this narrative that the Bulls can't develop guys to shoot and idk how legit that is. I think the bigger issue is the FO signs or trades for guys who can't shoot (DJJ, Javonte, DeRozan, and Caruso sort of). Obviously Lonzo isnt healthy so that really hurts. You're not gonna develop any of these guys bc they're older. It will be interesting to see how Terry, Ayo (if they bring him back) and Phillips develop with their shots I think Peter Patton will help Terry a lot bc Terry had a weird base to his shot and it looks like he fixed it this off-season from the few videos I've watched
I think Billy is gonna start em pg, he loved starting Ayo because of his defensive commitment early in the year and only stopped because ayo's shots werent hitting but it was a good 3 month stretch if i remember right.
He probably does considering Carter started more games than Coby last year. I'm just saying that whether Carter is on the bench or starting, he's pretty effective
There's not really much to discuss about that honestly. Just a poor coaching decision who I've questioned multiple times in previous videos and streams I think he deserves credit for the Bulls defense which was top 5 last year. But he 100% deserves criticism for the atrocious offense the Bulls had.
I think coby should start because he’s the younger & more offensively gifted player. Also AK said they want to focus on developing their players. Don’t want coby to turn into an All Star somewhere else.
I think we'll have to wait to see if there are other moves made and then make the best decision. There's also an argument to be made that Coby would be in the best position to develop if he's on the bench bc he isn't playing next to LaVine and DeRozan who will take away shots from him
@@theslamduncanI think he can develop with them. He’s not a passive aggressive guard, he looks to score first. Bulls need that in the starting lineup instead of going with Demar’s ISO ball. Hopefully they paid him 40 mil to start
I agree he isn't passive and the Bulls need his shooting BTW, DeRozan didn't iso that much when u consider the rest of the stars of the league. Bulls were 18th in iso possessions per game as a team. If Coby is in the starting lineup, it hopefully reduces the amount of mid range shots the starting group takes
I totally agree At least AK signed a two-way player for once instead of just a defensive guy This core is still limited and this roster is still flawed.
@@theslamduncan indeed. i cant believe how much AKME disrespects shooting in the age of shooting. the roster is still horrible. its loaded with players who are 2's and 3's (wings). has zero PF's & Point guards and has no center that can block shots or switch. i really have no idea why they built the team like this?? any thoughts?
It's a wing driven league. AK wants versatility and guys who can guard multiple positions or score in multiple ways. It's really not about the lack of a PG for me but more so the lack of playmaking. Playmaking doesn't need to come from the PG spot, but for the Bulls, it doesn't really come from anywhere This team has a normal amount of Cs in my opinion. Two Cs. Neither really bring interior defense but if u have a great perimeter defense, they think it doesn't matter. Bulls were a top 5 defensive team last year. So maybe it does work, but I don't think it works in the long run.
@@theslamduncan i agree with you wholeheartedly. You dont need a PG per say but you do need some playmakers. Zach is a turnover machine and for some reason they dont use demar to drive and kick; nor do they use Vuc's great passing ability Billy D is a horrendous offensive coach. I think the Bulls will be better next year. they added some very good 3 & D players. i still cant believe we got rid of Luari for a bag of donuts and traded 3 lottery picks for Vuc. Add in the Lonzo misfortune and the bulls have lost out on a lot of talent. but at least we arnet a bottom dweller
I'll say 2 things 1. For as much as Zach handles the ball, there are many worse turnover machines out there. Not saying he's not a turnover machine. He turns it over too much. But there are others out there who turn it over more 2. Vuc has great passing ability but we saw way too many post ups for him. While I think he is a great passer, I think that needs to come second to his scoring, which is why this team needs a playmaker so bad to help set him up
Denver was like bottom 5 in 3pt attempts and they won it all! not debunking the 3pt shot and the new NBA but it shows if your not gonna be great at the 3pt shot you have to be efficient everywhere else and a small bulls team wit Little size that don’t shoot enough 3s just mean you have to pick a lane you can’t be small and terrible shooting team
I totally agree with you. But the problem is the Bulls were 19th in points in the paint per game. Denver was 5th in points in the paint per game If the Bulls aren't going to score in the paint, they have to do well from 3 point land and Jevon Carter helps that
If Billy benches Carter 1. He should be fired immediately 2. The NBPA will get involved 3. It would go against his usual small ball lineups. I seriously doubt he benched Carter
Great video man! Appreciate all the effort in your explanations
Really appreciate the solid info, thank you! Just looking forward to having a player that can defend and shoot the 3 reliably.
Thank you for watching!
And I totally agree. I wanted to rip my hair out last season watching so many guys hesitate to shoot the 3. With Carter, I don't think we'll see him hesitate
