This thing is rarer than Rolls Royce in my country I was so blessed to live close to many Citroen owners they're mostly daily drive Xantia and XM and when the occasion comes then I even see some take their silver DS for a spin and also a green C6. I still remember no other luxury car impressed me as much ever since sat in one of these back in 2004 motor show.

C'était le haut de gamme magnifique bien a la hauteur d'une bmw série 7 au vu de ses équipements avec ce moteur qui était équipé dans la 407 coupé GT 3.0 hdi v6 241 cv c'était un excellent moteur fiable, robuste et très puissant dans sa gamme de véhicule chez psa. Je like car excellent essai, à quand un essai de Peugeot 407 berline ou coupé ou bien Peugeot 607 ??
Heu ... plutôt à comparer à une Bmw série 5 e60 (une 530d dans cette version) car honnêtement la série 7 ne joue pas dans la même cour. Les hauts de gamme français de cette époque (607, C6 et Vel Satis) visaient surtout les classe E, A6 et série 5 de motorisation moyennes car au delà il n'y avait plus matière à rivaliser.
I’ve been looking at these on Autotrader UK. The price difference between vehicles in similar condition and with little difference in mileage, whilst also having a FSH is huge. Surely the respective model spec can’t influence their desirability and value to such an extent. I hear they are slowly moving towards “classic car status” and have the potential of being an appreciating daily driver?
They’re certainly going up in appreciation now that they’re approaching their 20th anniversary, thanks to some influencers, buy yours before it’s too late.
i started with an citroen ax, worked my way up to the xantia and then to the c5 ph1 ( 2.0 & 3.0 v6 ) and now the c5 ph2 2.0 exclusive. The new c5 ( 2006 - .... ) i could not care less about them, because they are not real Citroën anymore...the C6 is the last goddess of the brand and i hope to own one in the near future!
I'm affraid of the C6's maintenance(Amvar and other electronics) but i love it, so i am compromising for a C5 with hydractive suspension and Exclusive trim. Is there a big comfort difference in favor of C6.
I love how it looks, but there seems to be something unpleasant with the sounds inside. I'm not talking about wiper screeching, but the road noise feels loud (Probably it's partially because frameless doors), and the engine is maybe quiet (if measured in dB) and feels powerful, but it's too rough - like old school diesels from the 90s - like in W124 or early tdi. It kinda doesn't fit in such sophisticated limousine. My dad had xc60 with older D5 5-cylinder diesel and it was similar - very strong and giving the feeling of power but not so smooth. In volvo it wasn't a problem for me, but C6 has different style. I'd love to drive a 3.0v6 petrol C6, but these are so rare. The newer diesels in modern cars are almost indistinguishable from petrol, but this one feels too 90's/early 2000s.
I am sure that the microphone is highlighting low frequencies by a lot, just check out how unnatural the index clicking sounds. Otherwise the characteristics seems smooth and harmonic compared to an average 4 cylinder diesel, especially when it's revving over 3000 rpm.
In general, the American people are very conservative, they do not have much interest in cars and they drive many kilometers. This causes them to break cars that need "a little" maintenance. That is why the Toyota or Honda are successful, they are simple and robust, but they are not "interesting"
In 2009, the 407 got a revised dashboard with different controls plus black gloss plastic, as well as an upgraded navigation screen (which the RCZ shares), but the C6 looks like it kept the previous version. At least, like the 407 Coupé, it also got the 3.0 HDi (though in far greater quantities), but I can't imagine that hydropneumatic suspension will remain fault-free.
Always loved the side and especially back view; less sure about the front. The interior is good but should have been wackier with revolving drum instruments like in the wonderful Series 1 CX!
not the best looking exterior in my opinion, but the interior is better than mercedes and bmw’s from that time. i’m assuming this car was a lot cheaper than it’s competition as well
Great car, but it has incomprehensible details, such as a steering wheel 'excessively' similar to that of the first-generation Dacia Sandero. It is not reasonable for that segment even though the C6 was out of date in 2012.

I'm a little disappointed that you can hear the engine all the time. Thought it was a luxury car, but well. The C5 II 2.0 hdi from 2009 you drove some time ago, is more silent inside the cabin, than this C6. Besides that, it is an icon in the car industry. ;)
@@temelon C5 also comes with V6 engines, both 2.7 and 3.0. Both are more silent than the C6. -Do your homework before replying to car professionals. ;)

Pour nous,fidèles de la marque aux chevrons,nous allons la collectionner parce qu'elle fait partie du patrimoine,et lors de rassemblements,nous évoquerons ensemble sa triste carrière. La série DS a usurpé le sigle DS. Il n'y a rien d'une DS dans la série DS. Non seulement plus de suspension hydraupneumatique, mais la série DS est même moins confortable qu'une C5 à ressorts, un comble !
C’est surtout qu’il n’est jamais bon de faire du réchauffé... Après perso la CX Pallas de mon frère ainé est un gros morceaux de mon enfance, du coup j’adore la C6, mais effectivement, pour ceux qui n’ont pas la réf, c’est un peu spécial...
