Square oring is normal, it’s on the M3 FL21 bolt as well. Thank you for the unbiased review. I have two M3s that I absolutely love. I’m excited about this but the oring detent and having to constantly change for paint size isn’t appealing. I’ve never had issues with the gen 4 eye pipes or anything on my M3+.
Yes sir! I knew it was normal but I feel like a standard oring would be best. Seems overly complicated and it appeared to already have some imperfections on it after 1 weekend. Weird!
You can replace that square o-ring with an x-ring better sealing and lower friction will do a better job than the squareish one. If it doesn't take a traditional circular o-ring.
Thank you for the unbiased unhyped opinion. I’ve been waiting for an actual pre/gameplay/post experience with the gun rather than a first impression. Now I love all companies that try to add to the sport but I still want good solid reasons to upgrade. I think I’ll stick with my Lv2 and 180r
I would expect since the dm14 that any high end gun dye comes out with should work properly out of the box. The m2 is hands down the best has lpr looks sexy shoots smooootttthhhh
Sold a dsr to buy this mxr, haven't shot it yet. I hope they fix the eye pipe issue. Good news fir me us I'm too old to play tourney ball. Just walk on stuff. So it will be a bit b4 I get,6000 shots thru it. That being said I appreciate the candor in your vid. And I'll not freak out if it breaks paint or leaks. Not gonba, cry about the dsr bc both my r5 and lv2 both shoot pretty smooth.... Cheers
Have you noticed any lag in the trigger? Shooting my MXR in semi ive noticed a few times where i pull the trigger, pause, then it shots the ball. Maybe similar to your ramping issue?
Good info, a little disappointing but they’ll get it ironed out. I use an M3+ and always wanted a DSR+. After the MXR reveal I went ahead and got a DSR+ Icon 😂 figured my 2 guns = 1 MXR.
I’m glad I didn’t buy it off the drop. Definitely needs some work on. I bought the cs3 off the drop and I haven’t had a single thing wrong with it. But it’s Planet Eclipse so
Dang - another incomplete maker from dye… that's tough. Battery issues plague me in my Og dsr, as well. Pretty much need a new battery after 2-3 cases.
Dye still hasn’t acknowledged this issue and is gaslighting every single customer at this point telling them they need to rip apart their brand new gun to “fix the trigger” or “you are just pulling the trigger wrong”….. It’s not a trigger issue.
@@Zinojni agree got a brand new mxr and had the same issue. took it to the dye booth and they said the same thing took them 30 mins to fix it. If they were to fix this problem would be my favorite gun rn
@@Zinojn didn’t fix it they handed it back told me they fixed it but really didn’t see a difference tbh.when i got home i did put a ltr on instead of my ctrl and i noticed a small difference but not too much
DSR+ doesn't need IM kit? Mine was leaking like yours, out of box after a couple shots. What a disappointment from Dye those IM kit should be free out of charge.
It does not require it, no. It’s simply an upgrade. Think of the HE bolt for the old sft shocker or the core bolt for the geo3. It works fine stock but those upgrades (IM KIT) enhance the shot and performance of the markers.
@@RPod89 Mine didn't have an issue stock is what I'm saying so maybe something needs to be regreased or an o ring needs to be replaced. I would just take a look at the troubleshooting guide inside the manual, the im pro kit should make the gun a bit more reliable and increases efficiency
Well, that pretty much does it for me. No new DYE gun until they can get these problems figured out and fixed. This video just saved me $1,500. I wish they would get rid of the stupid pipe system. Innovation is great, but if it’s a pain in the ass, then it’s not worth it. I despised the plastic eye pipe/detent system and wish they would just use old school removable covers to get to the eyes and detents. Having to separate the frame just to get to and clean the eyes and other issues. This gun will be a definite no for me.
wow ive been subbed watching ur paintball videos for 10+ years now and never knew you had such a badass garage aswell.
Check out the car channel. PaFur Garage. Most are my dad’s cars but several are mine. That hobby is bigger than paintball for me :)
Appreciate the honest feedback and I agree if this gun had the same shot and reliability of a dsr+ it would be my favorite gun right now
Love the review segment at the beginning was very unbiased and helpful.
Glad to hear it!
Been watching your channel for years now and I really appreciate and trust your opinions! Thanks Chris
amazing video thanks for sharing all your thoughts and experiences!
Aww man, I was really excited about this. Thank you for these reviews Chris.
I love the honest feedback of your video. Saved me time and money. I’ll stick to the dsr+ especially with the prices going down.
Thank you for making the video
Bro I know this is not about the market but bro I love the garage 😂
I think the black "square" O-ring acts as a bumper for the bolt. The DSR+ has one too.

I’d be interested in that MXR!

Great video Chris, thanks! Let us hope this marker does end up like the DLS
Sorry, I hope it DOES NOT end up like the DLS.
You and me both! I can say however this is no DLS. It just needs a few adjustments and she will be golden!
Had a buddy grab a MXR and bring it over. Brand new out of the box, had that internal bolt leak as well. Was solved easily, but such a bad look.
It’s an X-Ring it hold lubricants better than an o-ring for high friction areas
Crazy how they still made it that difficult to take out the eyes and clean
I knew when I was texting you about that sneaky little spot to add an O ring it would change everything 😂
What is changing if you add the extra oring?
@@JonasLi-m4z Similar to the DSR flex bolt it can create a softer shot by very slightly slowing the bolt down.
Is it 016 or 017?
timestamp or more info?!

putting a 16 fixed it for me
it would double feed and cause the barrel breaks, combine that with a force fed loader that's the result.

It’s still available
Of course it isn’t ready, how else can they sell you a Pro kit later…

In Germany we call the special O- ring X Ring 😅
Yup, definitely an xring
X-Rings and square rings are not the same thing.
@@axledog7297 Yeah I think he was holding a bumper or something.
@@zingerpb definitely not an X-Ring, in fact.

It doesn’t take an engineering degree to know that oring detent is a bad idea. I was ready to buy this day one until I saw the new eye pipe.
Dye’s new release QC reminds me of WDP 😂
At least we know the MXR+ will be decent 😂😂😂
Dude I still get sad when people mention WDP. I wish it was still here.

Interested in the MXR if you still have it!
Sorry just sold
