figure 8 racing was invented by Larry Mendelson, the owner of and driver at Islip Speedway, Long Island NY . I saw the first Figure 8 race in human history. Demolition derby was invented there as well, and I saw the first Demo before most of y'all was even born! that makes me warm inside.
i wonder how the racing characteristics of Outlaw Figure 8 would change with a reverse qualification grid (slowest front, fastest back) to have the fast guys fight through the field and keep the pack relatively tight as racers fight for position like Super Stadium Trucks, rather than having the field split into the faster and slower groups, which then descend into chaos chaos is totally good too can't wait to see you all in real life, you got some fans down in Florida!
