The hair at the top of my head is very fine and somewhat low density, while the back of my head is a bit more coarse and high density. The top doesn't like too much moisture and the bottom drinks up moisture. So yeah, you can definitely have both.

@@ojealism You should of course avoid the scalp at all costs when using oil, put it on the lenght that goes from the earlobe and down, it'd be better if you use it on damp hair after wash day (oil helps to seal the moisture into the hairstrands, making it less frizzy and dry). The Olaplex one is also a heat protector! But the key is not the oil, it's the moisture! Find good hydrating products to use after washing your hair and before styling it (like stuff with hyaluronic acid in it) and then you use the oil. You'll see a difference!

As someone who has really oily hair and uses the moroccan oil hair oil I have to somewhat disagree. I have really oily roots but my ends are bone dry and their oil has done wonders for my hair. I use it overnight and I wake up with soft hair (I NEVER had soft hair before). Fyi: i have wavy/curly fine blonde (not coloured) hair that tends to go really oily on the second day after washing Hope this helps some of you ☀️

Thank you thank you thank you for this information. To say I was confused on which “oil” to use on my hair is an understatement. And by the way Chris, I am following your tips on pretty much everything and today I am having a very good hair day! (washed hair yesterday, used mask for my salt and pepper curls, used Moroccanoil moisture repair shampoo and conditioner, a leave in conditioner, olaplex 6, and Moroccan oil treatment). No frizz today after sleeping with a bonnet (which I’ve used for years to save my curls). We are in monsoon season in Phoenix AZ so the struggle is real to tame the Mexi-fro!!
My hair is very fine, but its also usually very dry and chugs all my moisturizing stuff up. I started using a Aunt Jackies Curl Control conditioner atleast once a week becuase otherwise my hair gets really oily and weighed down, but whenever I use it and rinse it out, theres like nothing left to rinse. Its all been absorbed into my hair and my hair feels stronger and thicker. But its a delicate balance but washing will run it out of my hair throughout the week.
I love you! I followed your advice and product recommendations for my course/thick hair and it’s FINALLY soft and quenched!!!! The moisture lasts in between washes (3-4 a month). You’re an Angel!!! 😭🙏💐
I had the opposite experience. I have course hair and the olaplex did wonders for it especially if i used it with organic argan oil. But the moroccan oil was too light. Like it wasn’t penetrating through the hair shaft which was odd.
Same thing I was about to say. I have very fine hair and if it even is in the same room as something oily it will drink it up at my roots. But my mids and ends are coarse feeling and dry. I use the Olaplex oil as prescribed by Chris for oily hair, but I keep wandering if it would benefit from something for the coarser hair ladies on the very ends. You might want to try the hydrating version instead of repair since your hair is dry. If you have damage as well then it would be good to use the repair version too but stick to the hydrate line for majority of washes. Too much protein can make hair more dry which will lead to damage and breakage. Also don’t forget to use a hydrating leave in conditioner on clean damp hair before applying Moroccanoil.
