Everyone says MacKinnon and Crosby together, i remember an interview a couple years ago when marner and a few other players mentioned playing a scrimmage with McDavid amd Crosby playing together, apparently it wasnt Even close. I'm sure the players are being humble but i would love to see crosby center McDavid and Reinhart. If crosby and McDavid are split i would like to see him with reinhart, gonna need a good fast 2 way player on LW to get the puck to McDavid and win battles and keep pucks alive though.
@@Pck420xX we are halfway through January and mark stone isn't on LTIR yet lol, first time in what, 3-4 years? I understand him on the team when healthy but I don't know who he would play with that's bigger, a veteran, slower, and more of a big veteran checking cycle/defensive line. I would've had Tavares center a 4th line with stone on RW for a big defensive zone possession line. That being said, with who Canada picked, idk who he fits with, and like I said, it's January and stone isn't recovering from surgery or else I would have had hyman hands down. I know he had a very VERY slow start to the year but I always thought of Zach like a Chris Kunitz. Can play with Crosby and be feisty, win battles, tenacious, go to the net, has grit, isn't a defensive reliability, thinks the game and goes to the net. He played and won with sid, Zack I see a somewhat similar player. And for such a short tournament you want to put a bunch of star players together a d hope they have chemistry and dominate start to finish in a matter of a few weeks. That's why when picking a team, Marchand and Bergeron used to play together, or Getz and Perry, Seabrook and Kieth. Familiarity helps. Especially when chemistry has already been established. That's why I presume Makar and Devon Toews are the top pair and Theodore and pietrangelo. Are the second pair. That being said. Hyman could play with McDavid and win wall and corner battles, keep picks alive and go hard to the blue paint, whereas alot of other top end talent play to the outside and such and they have their own roles, you need chemistry, familiarity, and someone to go to the blue paint. Hyman brings that. But hyman, like Kunitz, can play on the top line or stand in the crease on the PP waiting for a rebound whatever it may be while the stars set up and cycle and make those elite plays, they need someone in front of the net. And idc if your Marchand, MacKinnon, Crosby, McDavid, Marner, who's going to the blue paint to distract the D and create chaos in front of the goalie? Against, hyman like Kunitz, can play with a McDavid/ Crosby. But can also be a 3-4th line checking grind it out forward. And I believe hyman should be on team Canada. I also believe Stuart Skinner should be there as well, (the Oilers bias is insane I know) but I would have Skinner, hill, montembault in net. Yes I have Oilers bias but I'm not saying Bouchard should make the team, if he only played PP2 and 5mins the rest of the game 5x5, sure. But not on that roster. I'm very firm on chemistry, and when you have the best of team Canada, you need hard nosed grind it out guys who will take a beating standing in front of the net doing all the dirty work the other star players won't do, or else you end up like the world Juniors team and it's 50+ outside shots a game with no chemistry and not 2-3 guys who can stand in front of the net that they are known to do. Every Crosby needs a Kunitz, every McDavid needs a hyman, every Leon needs a podkolzin (shocker), batman needs a robin, (Ryan Smyth, Kunitz, Hyman) stars need a blue collar hard nosed smart tenacious player. And so does Canada. That's why I choose hyman. Wether he be the first line, or the 4th. They need him and will regret it if he's not there. I just turned 25, the game has changed sooo sooo much In 10-15 years, everyone is better and more skilled than ever, 7 year Old's are better than ever, 7th round picks are better than ever. everyone is a Bedard, McDavid, Kane, Datsyuk. In a world, a generation, where the skill is at an all time high. Every team or superstar with skill, needs a Player with WILL. someone who goes unnoticed, isn't a superstar, but someone who superstars owe a great deal to. Winning puck battles, going to the hard areas, covers on D, allows the superstars to be superstars. This incredible game has less and less of them, but to win, you need atleast a few of them. That's why hyman should and will be on team Canada, this year or next, he will be. And I hope young kids who realize they aren't patty Kane or mcJesus but still have a fire in them look to players like a Ryan Smyth, Zach hyman or a Chris Kunitz. Hard work will take you farther than you thought possible. Let's go Oilers, let's go Canada!
As easy and nice as that looks on paper, i get it. First unit PP absolutely try it. But McDavid and MacKinnon both require the puck on their sticks most of the time and use their speed. Both players can't always have the puck. When McDavid was a rookie taylor hall was his first winger, it didn't work because hall used his elite speed to carry the puck in zone. So they couldn't play together. But i could see a PP unit with McDavid connor Crosby, makar, MacKinnon and either a morrissey, theodore, or Reinhardt. Would be unbeatable snapping those pucks around not knowing who to cover
Mark Scheifele would be a perfect fit with McDavid, has played with him in multiple tournaments. Oh wait, we’re too stupid to bring one of our best forward.
Hyman, there is no need to develop chemistry in a short tournament. Them not taking him has to be the biggest joke of a decision. Marner, the ultimate choker in big games, shouldn't be on the ice with 97 ever.

Paul Marner still paying Dreger apparently
Ban Bennett from the team and put Hyman in.
Has to be some roster changes before tournament starts right?

C) Zach Hyman
I would go with a top line of Crosy-Mcdavid-Mackinnon

Unreal sam bennett is on the team. What a joke team canada management is. I think bennett has like one point in a month?
Hyman put him on the team
The teams should have been picked a month before the event..doesn't make sense.
Hyman, there is no need to develop chemistry in a short tournament. Them not taking him has to be the biggest joke of a decision. Marner, the ultimate choker in big games, shouldn't be on the ice with 97 ever.
Easy it should be Hyman!
zach hyman ....
If MARNER OR REINHART get injured ZACH HYMAN DESERVES GET CALLED UP TO PLAY :)
Scheifele
