I think that actually might have been the original show. it seems like the creators kept wanting to go in that direction but were restrained by Hasbro and the broadcasting censors

I was looking through the comments to see if anyone brought up how AJ already had a shotgun out in her hands before she pumped it.
A gun person that cares too much, would point out that either AJ showed up to a risky situation with an empty chamber, or tossed a live unused shell on the ground when she pumped the shotgun.
People that pay attention to the location of the scene, would point out that AJ showed up to a prom held on school grounds, with a loaded pump action shotgun. They would go on to point out that she did this before knowing that former unicorns turning into demons was ever a possibility.
Everyone else would say, "just enjoy the animation".
(When did they find out that Sunset was a unicorn?)
