Do you use Jet Dry like Jeff Willuams do for gold? If not, it may help better to separate the insulation to float away better while the coppre settles. What do you think?!

Something that may work better for you is instead of the shallow trays maybe multiple 5 gallon buckets with a notch for the water/debris to flow out of. With the deeper bucket perhaps it will allow more copper to sink to the bottom thus catching more fine granular copper.
@@hobbyscrapper3576 I love it, Its totally something I would build. lol This looks like a prototype I build a while back out of scrap and I have a few tips if you want and a questions for you. I know you said you were gonna melt it but if you wanted cleaner copper with the set up you have this might help. My ? for you is if you have 2 levels why are you not catching all the copper on the 2nd sluice and picking it up from there? With no mods one thing you could do is leave the water running while you scoop the copper out, maybe slow the water flow if needed. I would take a putty knife and push the copper into the water stream and basically hydro blast the copper and it would help a lot with pushing the plastic down the sluice and out of the chops. Also bend a 1/4 " lip on that first & 2nd sluice at the very end or self tap something to it. It will catch most of the copper. If you want to trap more copper in the end tilt your 3 bins put a baffle before the outlet and make the outlets start out narrow then each bin getting wider. Each bin will catch finer and finer copper. This would take some mods but if you plum both sluices with water meaning you can turn the top off and put the pressure to the bottom you will be basically washing it twice or if you had enough pressure out the gate to have both running would be better. Only put a lip on the 2nd sluice, tilt your first one so it washes all the copper down to the 2nd one, this will remove most of the plastic. If you don't have the pressure then turn off the top and hydro blast the 2nd one. Either way I'd like to see move videos on this set up. I have 3 videos on my channel you should watch on my sluice and will be making a new one soon. Good luck with everything sorry for the long message. lol
Is most of your wire from cars/trucks or computers/electronics? Try hanging some plastic sheeting where water drops from each level, just to see if/how much fine copper you might be losing. Love the set up. Cheap and easy to make adjustments and repairs on the fly..
Can i Ask you somthing? Why do you need a level sluse? 😂🤣😂 i build booth air separators and water ones, you dont need a 3 story sluse. When The water comes in contact with plastic plastic will go up and copper sink to The bottom. You made it in reverse process 🤣😂
Well with the strained wire I cho up it doesn’t just work that way the copper has to break the surface tension before it will sink and the plastic will sink just as fast as the copper some times
