Tarja has this trademark approach on her epic songs that is almost hard to explain. Too many, Shadow play, Love to hate. All the instruments blend to create this larger than life soundscape but are still prominent. There's just this unbearable emotion bursting at the seams. I don't think the audience was ready for wild mode Tarja. Anyway, Silent Masquerade is just a masterpiece. From Tim's intro to the witch drum pounding. So so good. She sang the whole song almost in full chest mode, apart from the chorus, she sounds so dark and metallic. Kind of crazy how it sounds darker than Karevik even.
