The vocal shift into reading the unhinged transphobic rant was gold. Higher and higher pitch. The moral bar is a little higher than "I've never physically attacked someone".
"I wouldn't personally hate crime someone but I'd be damned if I actually stop them from being hate crimed or support legislation to stop them from being shunned and hate crimed, why don't queer people like me?" It's always a pretty huge red flag when people excuse their own behavior by claiming that they haven't done anything physical... Like that somehow excuses the rest of it. Being treated like shit is not something that anyone wants to put up with for the rest of their life, or is required to. Especially not in a setting where they're just trying to relax. And there's never a good excuse for treating other people like human punching bags, whether it's literally or metaphorically. explosions follow the path of least resistance. I was gonna use this fact to make a gay joke but I'm too lazy to think of a way that it wouldn't sound horrifically offensive. The overall crux of the joke would be that, in following the path of least resistance, the explosion would actually enter your ass instead of traveling upwards as is the scientific standard for non-directional explosions

Thankfully, the folks at Aegis, which is effectively the same business in the same building, but with better owners, are a lovely bunch. Great space to be in, IMO.
I went to my local game store because i was looking into hanging out there on dnd nights. They have a LARGE lgbt flag in the store and the divide between the front and back of the store includes a MASSIVE "Every Child Matters" flag. While i was there vibe checking the place i casually mentioned my ex-stepfather, how he introduced me to dnd...before he became MASSIVELY homophobic, transphobic and racist. The store owner asked for his name, because he wanted to know if he had ever been in so he could ban him from the store.
"If we want a truly tolerant and inclusive society, we have to respect others' personal beliefs and identities, and not discriminate nor push our own beliefs on others" "But discriminating and pushing my beliefs on others IS one of my main beliefs!"
My go-to argument for people like that is "replace everything you just said with race". Like, imagine calling others racists for kicking you out after you agreed with someone who was threateningly, unhingedly racist. I mean...what do they expect????? If you're racist, people don't want to play with you. Same for being anti-LGBTQ+.
I like to replace the argument with being left or right handed. "You write with your left hand? I don't care what you do in your own home, but I don't want you pushing your left-handed agenda on my children."
If there was a race actively saying they wanted to convert your children to their race, or trying to convince kids they were the “wrong race” based on ridiculous stereotypes….
Ah the old “If you exclude me for my -phobia of choice, then you’re the real bigots!” ploy. For people who think the Uno reverse card is the pinnacle of strategy

You know what else is against that guy's religion? - Eating shellfish - Getting tattoos - Wearing mixed fabric clothing - Eating a cheeseburger - Eating pork - Trimming your beard - Cultivating more than one kind of plant in a patch of soil
Many old testament laws where more about living and have many verses about doing day to day stuff, like clothing one was about not destroying cloths while washing them, because of diferent materials. Most important fact is that after his death Jesus lifted most of this laws, and made love the most important thing above all else. Still some of old laws have some use like fasting and prohibiting self harm while grieving which was stated in bible before tatoos. They are also understandable because in ancient times geting infected was a lot more likely and dangerous.
@@rootfish2671 The fact that none of his Christian views came up in a game about high fantasy worldbuilding, murder, and characters who worship made up gods until the topic of sexuality and gender identity is a pretty big indicator that he was never too "christan" until it was convenient.

Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." So what is dangerous and infectious about being gay?
Christian here. Best friend is bi, her wife is lesbian. Good friend is gay. Got trans acquaintances. Therefore I think it's in my rights to tell Christianplayer "Pull the other one, it has bells on it."
I know a trans woman that's a preacher at her church! This nonsense about "Christians must hate Big Gay" is like Wile E. Coyote trying to block a falling boulder with a tiny umbrella, it's so hilariously not going to hide your obvious unfounded bigotry.
I remember a particular bit of dialogue about God and gender stuff that lives in my brain: in summary, the person who wrote it proposed that trans people exist the same reason we can make bread or wine, so that people can share in the joy of creation and change.
At this point the number of Christians who are totally fine with LGBT stuff (as long as we don't try to force it down their throats) outweighs the amount of people who are so openly against it, and in my experience, it seems like the LGBT hatred comes from family/friends seeing it as wrong, not the actual religious teachings. I haven't been to a single church in the last 23 years that hasn't been okay with me being a Gay man. They never try to force any anti-LGBT views on me, they never try to "change" me, and they never threaten me. Just like nobody likes when religious folks try to force their views on others or in the games they play, people equally don't like having LGBT elements forced onto them or the games they play. I'd say that's fair. I say this as a Gay Man who understands that both sides have their issues and bad actors.

oh yeah, American crocodile iirc. it's an endangered species, I think. apparently a lot more of the southeast used to be some form of wetlands than still exists today, so species that rely on them are far fewer in number, like the croc, and also a lot of species of carnivorous plants that seem to gravitate towards the southeast. there's even a native species of river cane that's both minimally documented due to scarcity, and the sole-habitat of a species of pitcher plant that only grows in like, two places in the entire world. I know this got away from me a bit but I've never not thought this information was cool ever since I first learned of it. the part of the country where I live used to be a radically different place than it is today, and you can still see the remnants of it if you look hard enough.
I was going to post the same thing. Though honestly, alligators are worse as far as my experience goes, haven’t heard of any crocs the size of a station wagon disrupting a military base’s capability to use runways or having to change vehicle parking to accommodate where it likes to spend time.

As a Christian, I sincerely apologize for the bigotry of other "Christians". It pains me as someone who is both Christian and an ally. You are loved, lovable, and acceptable as you are with your entire identity. Please know that bigots aren't representing the God I worship.
Same for me. It disgust me that people in our Faith have that kind of reasoning. Christianism is supposed to be about loving thy neighboor, why do so little people get that?!
I’m an extremely devout Christian. That poster needs some prayers AF. JESUS HIMSELF stated that the only two most important rules is love God and love your neighbor. Multiple times it states not to judge people. I fully believe if Jesus was alive today, he’d hang out at gay bars and have fun with people of all walks of life. Plus I am lgbtq myself, (not stating which because I have not come out yet due to horrid views of those around me) and my fiance is out as nonbinary. We are ALL created in Gods image. And God the father is not shown in any humanoid form, meaning that doesn’t mean physical image. We are created in his image by having sentience and complex emotions and thoughts. I really don’t see how anything trans goes against the Bible. It’s changing pronouns and sometimes getting surgery. If trans is wrong, then changing anything about how you look and present, changing aesthetic, styling your hair, getting piercings, tattoos, etc is also wrong. Which makes no sense. God is called He even though he definitely has no physical gender since he has no physical form. So who cares if we change our pronouns and body??? TLDR: Christians have forgotten how to “love thy neighbor, don’t judge, and respect all of God’s children.”
As for the last story- my best friends are from Kentucky and just celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. I can assure you that I have been called 'hun' on just about a daily basis from her but she would NEVER think of leaving her husband (who is a great guy in his own right). Some times folks are just that desperate, unfortunately.
The idea of if you discriminate against discriminatory people then that’s just more discrimination and you’re no better than them makes me go ballistic. It’s the stupidest take ever.

Oh god, the dude who wants credit for not doing hate crimes... What? I feel like you can chalk that up as a threat, like "nice place you got here, be a shame if something bad happened to it."
The existence of my trans friends, my own personal existence, is neither a political nor moral question. We exist, period. If our existence is, to you, a question to be debated, I wanted nothing to do with you. There might be something to get you to understand why calling a person's right to exist as they are into question is a serious problem, but I have neither the time nor the ability to find that something which is why I simply cut ties. Again, saying it nice and loud here: I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SOMEBODY BEING A CHRISTIAN OR WHATEVER. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY EXISTENCE OR THE EXISTENCE OF MY FRIENDS BEING A QUESTION REQUIRING DISCUSSION TO FIND AN ANSWER TO.
fucking based. You dont have to justify your existence to anyone. And its absolutely bullshit that in this "oh so advanced civilised age", some people still need to fight for that "right". It shouldnt even be a right, rights imply its something society graciously gives you, it's just a thing that should be a given for all humans.
10:50 you could say that the store transitioned :P I'm lucky in that my local community is very supportive of the LBGTQ+ community and makes me feel safe and at home with them.
Pretty sure I had something similar happen with a local FLGS where the owner posted some hardcore alt-right stuff online and then was surprised when he lost nearly all his customers. The owner of the store I go to is fairly centrist but also doesn't talk about controversial stuff in the store, keeps it all family friendly and inviting, so I got to hear about this all second-hand from him. The other store owner even tried to sell his store to the guy I know, who just told him to take a flying leap (he didn't want to be caught dead holding the bag after the guy had tarnished THAT name). No idea what exactly was said, though I'm pretty sure the dude was literally allowing some grognards who happened to be not-seas to play openly in his store, then tried to defend them when they said or did something... weird shtuff all told.

the best use of co-dm'ing I've seen/done is typically guest characters that play one or more npcs (works best if you have a voice actor / impressionist friend) or use them to bounce off of in cutscenes/npc-on-npc rp and combat when you have a bunch of moving parts. Typically you pass to or the co-dm just takes over when you need time to prep or aren't there. I've even seen some people who pass certain scenes entirely to the co-dm (I assume the co-dm just wrote those scenes/quests and/or are really attached to the character in said scene, so the dm let's em take it).
A good example of co-DMing is Tales from the Stinky Dragon. There's three co-DMs on that podcast and they all have very clearly defined roles. Gus interacts with the players, handling rolls and RP. Micah writes the over-arching narrative and occasionally helps with mechanics explanations and determining whether to bend the rules for a player for cool/funny reasons. Ben assists Micah with story writing and helps both other DMs provide hints to move the players in the right direction to solve puzzles/progress the story without giving the whole thing away. How well their setup would work outside of a real-play podcast, I can't say, but it certainly works well for the show.
The southern slang bit I feel SO HARD. Im not from the south BUT my mom and her parents were and so I grew up hearing and using that slang. The amount of times people though I was flirting by using "hun" as a term like "dude" got to the point that I trained myself to stop using slang like that. I even got rid of my second hand southern accent because of the weird comments. Then there were the people who got offended by it. I didn't think it was that big of a deal but it always caused a problem
Okay, so, regarding the papoose: a married couple I knew played a duo in the old Living Greyhawk convention play campaign for D&D 3.x. The wife played a Half-Orc Fighter/Rogue, and her husband played a Gnome Bard whose Perform skill was basically "The Dozens"--artistic insults meant to distract and infuriate your opponent. And yes, the Gnome rode around in a backpack with holes cut in it for his arms and legs. It was hilarious, especially on those occasions when the half-orc calmly informed the Gnome that if he didn't shut his mouth and stop antagonizing some random NPC, she was going to tie up the backpack and drop him in the river.
My home town comic store had similar issues. Before when I first started going there in high school, it was great and nuetral and not bigoted at all. And then the original guy who made it sold it years after I moved away. The people who took it over where super conservative and I couldnt go there anymore because they were assholes. Then they ran it into the ground and as far as I know now, there isnt one anymore. Which is sad and frustrating.
I can't tell you how happy I get when I hear danger in the background! I feel bad for the people in the posts but they tend to be the best horror stories
Classic cherry picker, "I believe in the parts that support my bias and hate but the parts that don't suit my biases or desires are 'up for interpretation' or are from the wrong part of the Bible."
It's the fundie paradox. They decry whatever goes against their personal idea of Christianity (which is often false), but pick things that also go against those views (again, incorrect. There's nothing in the Bible about TTRPGs, and anything concerning homosexuality is heavily debated by many Biblical scholars).
Fundamentalism has gone off the rails. The movement started with a series of books called The Fundamentals, which outlined the ten? fundamentals of what it meant to be a Christian. Guess what things _weren’t_ on that list. Hint, most of the shit that so-called fundamentalists spout off about nowadays.

i co-dm with my boyfriend, and we mostly improvise our stories while still keeping relevant plot-points, our rpgs are mostly sandbox. i'm his "assistant master" since i let him play most of the characters since he's the one who comes up with the stories, but many of his stories involve my own hcaracters (he loves inserting my ocs into his campaigns) so i happily interpret them as npcs!
Hey, people who have a good session 0... what do you DO? Every time I've tried one it's been super awkward and quickly devolved into an encyclopedia reading of random world building info that my adhd brain can NOT deal with. I wanna play in the world, explore it, not attend a lecture of Forgotten Realms history 101... all of the silly nonsense words just flow out of my brain as a DM does a not-so dramatic reading of the book (I'm the boring DM at my games too). What are you supposed to do that's taking a whole game session? Make characters? But then everyone's talking and you can't focus... besides, everyone probably already had their character concepts in place when you said which campaign you were running. The last time I didn't bring a characters to a session 0 (when the dm said he didn't want us to) I showed up with just a concept and felt super rushed picking feats and magic items.. Everyone just talks about how helpful session 0 is and I legit can't figure out what people are actually *doing*
one thing for example is to focus les son the game and more about the game. The premis eof the campaign should already have been given when pitching to the players. At session 0 you can talk about expectations, what do you like in a game and perhaos what you would like to see, like intruige, war stories, dungeon crawling, exploraiton, puzzles, investigations and more. Also what you dont like and potential fears and boundaries of stuff. If character concepts are starting ot be done session 0 is a good place to start weaving them together, do some party members share a backstory, did they trave together briefly before the campaign started. How do they know eachother etc etc. Leave the worldbuilding aspects more to actually in game than out of it.
One of my games has Co DMs and it in part works because they're good friends who have a lot of respect for each other and all of us players (as well as we have a lot of respect for them) they also share DM duties like one of them focuses more on the roleplay scenes and one focuses more on combat (just an example). There's a lot of ways to make it work, but it comes down to mutual respect.
Yeah, I'm currently co-DMing Tomb of Annihilation with a good friend of mine, and I'm trying to use it as a way to learn how to DM and occasionally help out, like running a monster or NPC for her (and taking over duties of a PC when they can't make it). The players can also come to me whenever they have questions about the game mechanics, as they're all pretty new to this.
Was this the first time you had two Crispies on screen at once?! I can’t remember seeing that yet, you usually have the opposite facing Crispies conversing in a solo scene. If it is the first then awesome. I thought it was really well choreographed!

W store tbh
@@erikdahl6861 oh yeah, definitely
When you pass the vibe check with flying colors.
Based store. Awesome store.
"If we want a truly tolerant and inclusive society, we have to respect others' personal beliefs and identities, and not discriminate nor push our own beliefs on others"

Nice description of trans activists.

@ceres_lang hate speech doesn't mean anything anymore. If I say a woman is an adult female human being, you'd call it hate speech.
Sadly, in today's world, that's not quite so effective. It's becoming popular to be openly racist again.
I like to replace the argument with being left or right handed. "You write with your left hand? I don't care what you do in your own home, but I don't want you pushing your left-handed agenda on my children."
@@Here_is_Waldo That's beautiful. Mind if I borrow that?
If there was a race actively saying they wanted to convert your children to their race, or trying to convince kids they were the “wrong race” based on ridiculous stereotypes….

Its always "I don't condone harm" but will legit encourage other folks lmfao
Going by the comments section of the post: yes, he did. He got ratio'd so hard that he deleted his account. Probably for the best; I hope he crawls back under his rock and never comes out again.
Theres no bigger hate than christian love
That guy's type of Christianity wants to be the victim so bad so they can deflect any and all criticism as bigotry. They want to be hateful without explaining themselves because their humanity would reject their views should it ever get scrutinized to any degree.
He basically said, "I agree with violence being done to you, but I can't be bothered to do it myself. You should thank me for that."

Also love the new look for your rat version of yourself. It's so cute and fluffy! (Well, maybe not the eldritch horror aspect, but hey, some might think it's adorable, lol) Also, if you ever get to the point of doing a plushie of that character, I would totally get one!
Been a while since we had a story that made Crispy slowly go from normal to creep voice.
You know what else is against that guy's religion?
- Eating shellfish
- Getting tattoos
- Wearing mixed fabric clothing
- Eating a cheeseburger
- Eating pork
- Trimming your beard
- Cultivating more than one kind of plant in a patch of soil
Doubtful he’s aware of any of those things, those types don’t study the Bible on their own, just use it an excuse for their hate.
@@Kaspar_Ementaller Jesus didn't abolish anything. Matthew 5: 17-19, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. So what is dangerous and infectious about being gay?
Actually, for the beard part. you are and are not supposed to trim the beard.
"I don't believe in the discrimination of anyone" while actively discriminating against people. You can't make this shit up.
Christian here. Best friend is bi, her wife is lesbian. Good friend is gay. Got trans acquaintances.
Therefore I think it's in my rights to tell Christianplayer "Pull the other one, it has bells on it."
Actually doing the Lord's work!
@@etcetera1995 That's beautiful:)

Florida has crocs too. indigenous species but they are rarer so they are way more protected than alligators.
oh yeah, American crocodile iirc. it's an endangered species, I think. apparently a lot more of the southeast used to be some form of wetlands than still exists today, so species that rely on them are far fewer in number, like the croc, and also a lot of species of carnivorous plants that seem to gravitate towards the southeast. there's even a native species of river cane that's both minimally documented due to scarcity, and the sole-habitat of a species of pitcher plant that only grows in like, two places in the entire world.

Fortunately Christians have a place for bigots.
Same for me. It disgust me that people in our Faith have that kind of reasoning. Christianism is supposed to be about loving thy neighboor, why do so little people get that?!
LITERALLY I HATE BIGOTED CHRISTIANS LIKE THAT IT MAKES ME SICK THEY ARE NOT TRUE CHRISTIANS *WE ARE LITERALLY TOLD TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER*
Good thing there's already a place for them, if you know what I mean.
Based.
As a practicing Christian that persons post was pretty childish and embarrassing. Definitely NOT a person who shows the love of Christ
The idea of if you discriminate against discriminatory people then that’s just more discrimination and you’re no better than them makes me go ballistic. It’s the stupidest take ever.

Again, saying it nice and loud here:
I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SOMEBODY BEING A CHRISTIAN OR WHATEVER.

AWW The new sprite is so cute!
God I hate that hypocritical effort at reversal by bigots of "if you don't let me discriminate then you're the one discriminating!"
Love how the wannabe Co-DM got shut down hard in the fourth one.
New rat looks so smug.
I love it ❤
The southern slang bit I feel SO HARD.

It's the fundie paradox. They decry whatever goes against their personal idea of Christianity (which is often false), but pick things that also go against those views (again, incorrect. There's nothing in the Bible about TTRPGs, and anything concerning homosexuality is heavily debated by many Biblical scholars).

i co-dm with my boyfriend, and we mostly improvise our stories while still keeping relevant plot-points, our rpgs are mostly sandbox. i'm his "assistant master" since i let him play most of the characters since he's the one who comes up with the stories, but many of his stories involve my own hcaracters (he loves inserting my ocs into his campaigns) so i happily interpret them as npcs!
