that's so sad and depressing. don't say that. Even though I was aware and heard all her popular singles growing up, 28 now, I never really paid attention or seeked her music out.
now all of a sudden I hear my mom randomly playing "always on time" and now I'm all over youtube meeting Ashanti really for what feels like the first time while at the same time being very familiar with everything and feeling nostalgic.
it's a very surreal experience. I feel like it's all new, but old and I feel melancholy that it's over and I feel like I missed it, when I really didn't.
I guess I was just young and my taste in music have changed. Like when our parents turn on old awful music from their childhood like barry white or Luther vandross.
guess that's what I'm doing now.
I hope Ashanti comes back so I can experience and appreciate her live in action.

I think the record label wanted her voice to sound more pop than powerhouse but she had the skills all along.

this song reminds me of when I was married and my ex-husband, beat me on several occasions and cheated on me, and I dreamed I killed him and rolled him up in a mattress, we lived near a lake with no bottom and I threw him in and even had a alibi. when I woke up, I said if you can dream this, you will do this and he ain't worth it. So one day he went to work and the movers were there 30 minutes later. 23 years later he is still mad and telling people he's going to get me back. Got my satisfaction and he learned a lesson he will never forget!!
