If a Mii tells you they've recently been playing System Settings, that likely means they change the date to earn more Play Coins. I used to do that, but now that I have all the hats, it isn't really necessary. I'm not really in a hurry to complete Puzzle Swap, so I don't have to cheat to get more Play Coins.

Have you heard of SpotPass Mii's?, heres an example: online multiplayer MK7 gets you spotpass miis. It will increase your plaza population to 1-7 new people per battle!!!

I live by the 3rd largest mall in america, i hang out there with my friends and get like 5-15 street passes an hour
