Great video James. Such beautiful scenery out there. I love the East Coast, but it's something very unique about the west coast scenery. I love the tranquil music in many of your videos lately. Enjoy!
I don't know why I waited a day to watch this. I will never get tired to seeing places I've been from a new and wonderful perspective, James. Thank you for sharing the diverse beauty of California in such a spectacular way. I'm so happy for you that you were able to take the family and your friend on such a grand journey.
Thank you, Brent. It's lovely to get such nice comments, makes the editing time all worthwhile!
What an incredible trip Jim. Timed to perfection before the winter storms would have made it impossible. An unforgettable experience and a very special way to finally celebrate my 50th. Thanks a million old friend.
Bravo on this video James, breathtaking winter landscapes over Lake Tahoe and the Sierras. Scenic and serene. Music selection matched the wonderment of the video. Blue skies to you!
Nice flights. It's good to share experiences with friends and family. Another great video James!
Wow...loved all that amazing scenery. I've made a few road trips through those places, but I'd love to appreciate it all from the air one day. I'm going to watch it for the third time now. Many thanks James.
Thank you for sharing, the scenery/photography are beautiful.
Excellent James. I used to love flying in the desert bits of SoCal on my annual flying visits from the UK (Warrior and C172 out of Cable). Some years ago one day my instructor offered to fly me up to Death Valley in his Archer as I'd never been there. We arrived at Furnace Creek after a very enjoyable and scenic flight, hungry, we fancied some lunch. So we called for the country club courtesy van as we didn't want to slum it. The driver arrived and promptly told us that we were not adequately dressed to gain entry! We were smart casual, no shorts and looked very respectable. Had I have known of the dress code in the middle of a scorching desert I would have been sure to pack my top hat, white tie and tails which I don for lunch at the Savoy. The driver dropped us at the truck stop where we enjoyed a very adequate repast. Happy days. Keep posting your escapades, they bring back excellent memories, thanks.
That's a funny story, glad the truck stop saved the day! That hotel/restaurant a pretty fancy place, I went once on a work trip to Vegas, we drove over there for dinner. And thanks for the encouragement!
Thanks for the ride James. I’ve added a few extra favs on Google Maps for my next visit. ❤
That was a very interesting video. I’m sure go back and watch it again.
Nice Piper Warrior! Thanks for the video.
James, thanks for another stunning helping of the amazing geology and geography, living in the home counties is relatively featureless in comparison!
Hi James, I've been to Yucca Valley to look at a 1936 Fairchild that was for sale by a very nice couple living on the Field there. Another Great video ! I flew out to L05 yesterday, for breakfast, ahead of the storm that's now soaking the Antelope Valley. Very pleasant video to watch on such a day as this... Thanks, Ron
Oh nice, Fairchild 24? I love those. Are you going to buy it?! I was meant to be flying my mum home to L22 yesterday, but we obviously delayed the trip a few days.
Hi James, No, unfortunately that was almost 10 years ago... He wanted a bit too much at the time. I think it was about $38,000@@JamesGood But right now I've plenty to do on the Navion. I'm having to exchange accessory cases with the spare engine I have. Corrosion on the face of the oil pressure relief valve seat is causing the oil pressure to drop to red line in the hot summer months... I've been restoring the Navion for about 10 years now with flying on and off. I love the Navion, but there is a dearth of knowledgeable A&P Mechanics to do the work, better that way anyway, what do you do when you're retired anyway ?
Another gret video...Thanks, very much, Ron.... PS: hope to see you and yours when you get to this neck of the woods....
Fantastic and amazing scenery - every scene was something new and interesting. Thank you!
Beautiful way to see the world isn’t it. I e been thru there a few times in our A36. Once it was with active F18s all around us near Lone Pine. If ever the chance I think Charles would enjoy visiting the old movie sites near there. Did your Dad build the Gypsy Moth hanging from the ceiling ? Nice !
Yucca Valley is where I did my PPL when I was stationed in 29 Palms!
Beautiful video, thank you! Death Valley is the closest you will ever get to Mars :D , what a landscape!
Truely, very Mars-like!
Awesome! Glad to see you streatching the Piper’s wings in this video! Welcome again to the Piper family, LOL. Thanks for sharing the beautiful scenery and flight. Good to see the family. Fly safe!
Thanks Joe! We just got back from Minnesota in it, so we've definitely been using it.
absolutely beautiful !! the music was perfect. Artist ? where to find ? please 🙃😎👍🏼

Fun Trip
This reminds me the new reality; pretty soon, folks will ask if the pilot has FAA certification for drones?!?! 🤣😆🤨😉
Nice shot!
Is this a new plane.
It was new to us about a year ago. It was built in 1975.
@@JamesGood congrats on the new plane. That will definitely make travelers more accommodating and faster for your family. Do you still have the Ercoupe?
@@StraightTail56 Yes, still have the Ercoupe as well!
Another great video James! Where in the UK are you guys from?
Thanks! We're from Surrey, Horley near Gatwick airport.
@@JamesGood small world! I lived in Rusper for 5 years. Not too far
That's very close!
Slightly off-topic, but how's the RV-12 getting on?
Hey Rob, that's a good question. Both Juan and I have halted on that for a bit. We'll get back to it soon, now that normal work/school schedules resume, and the family travel season is winding down.
@@JamesGoodThanks, I hope all concerned have had a good, relaxing and above all safe break. Looking forward to the forthcoming season of building planes.
Hi James There is a fly-in scheduled. For the 19th of Aug. Starting st 0800-1300? At sandpoint. (Kszt) hope to see you there 👍
