Great stuff here, Jesse. This really make me appreciate the clarity and precision of the DIYRE build docs.

@@tqalexander thanks Tim! My intention here wasn’t to criticize anything about these kits, just shiw what the experience is like for those who might be interested. DIYRE kits are certainly aiming to be more foolproof for builders of any skill level, but this kit is definitely doable as long as you’ve got a previous knowledge base. For what it’s worth I now own 6 of these VP28s, haha. I don’t use them on everything but there a few things I absolutely love them on.

@@jessegimbel Yep. I got that completely and didn't see anything you did as criticism. It was more a "here are a couple of things to keep an eye out for". I've considered building a CAPI kit in the past and your video made it clear that I'm more than capable of it, but things like "bend this LED lead 90 degrees twice" and "solder this from the back side through a tiny hole" give me a slight pause, if only because my hands and eyes aren't as precise as I want them to be. :) Also, having fried an IC before, I 100% agree with your advice about adding a socket.

Very nicely done. I recently built the StewMac Sun Face pedal. The kit was just ok, in my opinion. I won’t go into the reasons.
I should build some 500 series units for my Son’s enclosure, for fun… and to add to his units. He’s got only three slots filled so far. Take care Jesse.

I highly recommend the 'Mic and Mod Shaper Mastering EQ Kit' for a great entry-level build. Not a lot of components or hardware and sound great! Also the price is great for a pair.
